We spent a wonderful week at the farm! The hosts were very welcoming and did everything to make us feel comfortable and looked after. The family restaurant offered lovely meals, which varied slightly from day to day. The swimming pool was very large, and most of the time during the day it was completely vacant. But even when it had quite a few guests enjoying the swim, there was plenty of space and tranquility. The farm is an hour drive from Firenze, and about 30 minutes from Sienna. Both are worth visiting and exploring over the few days. We had a very relaxing time and would definitely come back. Thank you so much!

The borgo consists of several small houses at the top of a hill, which makes for a magnificent view and a village feel. The pool is a bit cold, but it's nice and large and decently maintained. Dinners are served outside the main building, so you get a nice sunset with it. The food is generally quite good as well. The staff is friendly and helpful and they really add to the experience.

The only real problem we had was a little smell coming from the shower drain. It was over 30° when we were there, so that probably made things worse, but the plumbing could probably be better. The sink in the kitchen also took ages to drain.

Beautiful location tucked away in Tuscana countryside. Overall location and stay exceeded our desires and expectations. Apartment was very clean and comfortable. First level had nice sitting area, kitchen and bathroom. A few steps up to bedroom which was spacious with comfortable bed. Breakfast and dinner options were amazing and satisfying. Different dinner menu each day and food was delicious and satisfying, especially sitting out under the clear sky with amazing view of the rolling hills. Parking area is located slightly downhill from facilities and reception but can drive up into property to check in and unload/load. Access road is narrow and a nice roll through small hills and trees but easily driveable just take it slow. Staff were amazing as well. Warm and welcoming with friendly greetings each day. Always checking to ensure everything was good for us. Provided recommendations on local wineries and showed route on a map. We found the location to be perfect to explore the area as we ventured to Pisa, Florence, Siena and wineries from “home”.

Absolutely magical. Staying at Antico Borgo Poggiarello felt like coming home to a place I never knew I was missing. From the very first moment, we were welcomed with such genuine warmth that it was impossible not to instantly relax. Every single person we encountered made us feel like family not guests, but truly cared for. The rooms are cozy and full of rustic charm, with a timeless atmosphere that invites you to slow down and savor the peace around you. The on-site restaurant is an absolute treasure. Antico Borgo Poggiarello isn’t just a place to stay, it’s an experience of warmth, beauty, and true hospitality. We left with full hearts, grateful spirits, and a longing to return. If you’re looking for a place that feels like a warm embrace, this is it.

Breathtaking views, great location in the country side but close enough to drive to local towns nearby for wine tasting and adventures. It was a dream come true! Roberto did a phenomenal job with menu selection and the food was freshly prepared each day. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend and would love to return someday. Cannot say enough about how wonderful it was!

Amazing place to stay as a base to explore this part of tuscany. We are planning to come back next year Old hilltop farming hamlet turned into a family-run farmstay. We enjoyed particularly the panoramic views and sunsets plus the great breakfast and delicious dinners (Roberto is an amazing cook). Very child friendly with swimming pool and playground.

Antico Borgo Poggiarello We stayed for a week in late September. The pool was open and the sun shined. The location is about 1.5 miles off the main road south of Colle di val d’Elsa towards Montrigioni. Some would call it remote, we called it wonderful. The ‘old’ village, each house converted into high end individual apartments, some with a terrace and all with spectacular views over the Elsa River valley towards San Gimignano and Casole, is truly wonderful especially at dusk where you can watch the sunset while drinking the local Sangiovese wine from vineyards which surround the estate. Despite being converted more than 20 years back the place is still fresh and sharp. The apartment fittings were well maintained and clean and everything worked…more than I can say for some place we have stayed in. Although you can cook in your apartment, and we did for a couple of nights, the on site restaurant serves high end typical Tuscan food and wine…and less expensive than many local restaurants. We asked for Cinghiale-Wild Boar…which Roberto the co-owner and chef managed to source and which Paolo also a co-owner served with chat in Italian, English and German. We can’t wait to make a return trip…can’t give a better recommendation than that !!

Nothing really...everything just worked....

The location is marvellous, perfect for a few quiet days to enjoy the pool, the view and some delicious dinners! We mostly planned daytrips to several towns and other attractions in the region and found a great "homebase" at Poggiarello to relax afterwards. We will definetly be back :)

This is a cluster of houses turned into a small hotel/inn. The location is very remote but easily accessible by car, plenty of parking, very beautiful views, very nice pool. Units (there are different sizes of apartments) were very nice and well equipped. You could cook for yourself, though not having an oven (not even a small one) was a limitation. There is a restaurant on site that we did not try but others seemed to enjoy it. It is a nice base to tour this part of Tuscany. A very nice experience. Owner was on site most of the time, nice and helpful. Overall very nice experience and we can definitely consider coming again.

Some small things: it would be good to have ovens in the kitchens, especially in the larger apartments, even if just countertop toaster-ovens. A Nespresso machine would be nice. The unit we stayed in had a huge bathroom, but within it a small shower stall - I would have made it into a walk-in shower. But none of these things made our experience less than excellent, this is a highly recommended place.

A superb quiet location with amazing views from out apartment and the restaurant. The meals at the restaurant were lovely. daily menu and you just choose to take it or leave it. We ate there 3 days and each time the food was amazing, accompanied by gorgeous Chianti wine, I Recommend the Bichi Borghesi. This is family run and everyone was so warm, friendly and welcoming. They even tolerated my attempts at speaking Italian.

The only improvement I would have liked is for the wifi to be a bit stronger in our apartment, but that's a very minor niggle.
