Spacious room with a private terrace. We had everything we needed: small fridge, air conditioner (also works for heating), comfy beds. The room was cleaned every day. Breakfast was excellent: little variety, but everything was fresh and tasty. Coffee was prepared by barista and was delicious, they is also a decaf option. We had dinner in the hotel twice and we can definitely recommend it.

Wifi is practically non existent and, what is even worse, there was almost no cell connection in the area. So it was a bit difficult to plan trips for the next day. But that's just a small concern.

We stayed at the hotel whilst walking the Via Francigena across Tuscany. The route passes Il Pietreto so it is an ideal place to rest for a night. Staff were friendly and welcoming. there are gardens around the hotel and plenty of seating. We enjoyed a swim in the pool before breakfast. The menu is not large, but the food was good and plentiful both at dinner and breakfast with options for a vegetarian diet.

There were 3 of us in two rooms, not sited next to each other. Not a big problem, but seemed unusual as we had booked months in advance.

The place is really beautiful and we had a great time. The room was big and it had all the necessary amenities. The breakfast was good, with quite a few options to choose from. We also had dinner there and the food was delicious. All the staff was really kind and they went above and beyond to make sure things were all right for us. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are ever in the area.

The staff at Il Pietro are phenomenal, and went out of their way cheerfully to help us. We were walking the Via Francigena on a very hot July day—they allowed us an early check-in and even prepared us a small lunch though the restaurant was closed. Antonio was personable, thoughtful, and kind. For Pilgrims, this place is RIGHT on the Via Francigena and we highly recommend!!

It can be challenging getting into the upper swimming pool because you must go down a ladder, which gets very hot on the hands in the summer.

This year we chose Toscany for our vacation, and obviously you can't miss with Toscany but one of the reasons we had such a great time was Il Pietretto. 1. Staff - lovely, kind, helpful and they also had an amazing dog - love you Dante 2. Accommodation - traditional stone houses with thick walls, even though outside was 35-36 in our room was 23-24 degrees, fresh, no humidity (YES there is NO A/C but you DONT NEED IT) 3. BED - so comfortable, just the perfect soft/firm ratio I slept like a baby on a cloud 4. cleanliness - spotless clean 5. area - huge garden with beautiful view on the toscany hills, 100m on foot you can find old etruscian terme (free of charge with cooling and crystal clear water) 6. restaurant - food was tasty, good, and it offered the traditional part of Toscany Just to let you know some of the photos on Booking are from previous owners - the vibe is less high class now, more family centered and chill - which is smtg I am more prone to these days. My overall grade is 9.5/10 regardless the issue with the pool if you can call it like that because it was sorted in matter of 1-2 days

Only down part was the pool - not that it was dirty but water was not clear due to lack of chlorine which was sorted in the end.

Beautiful property. Good breakfast complete and with Good products (it was just missing some fresh fruits)… Pool is nice and Garden is marvelous. Location is very good, it is very close to the Francigena road and close to the old Roman pools, only 10 mins from Colle’s center (you feel in the middle of the countryside, but in the same time you are close to the civilization). Hotel include restaurant with a great quality-for-value. You feel as At home…

Rooms could be better with more attention to details (but they said that they will be soon renewed). Some more cleaning attentions could be appreciated. No fresh fruits for breakfast.

Excellent location, if you need a quiet place close to a lot of famous landmarks. The building is very authentic and yet comfortable inside. The pool has an amazing view of Toscana's countryside. The food and drinks are simple and delicious. The staff is friendly and welcoming. We got exactly what we expected! It was a great experience and we didn't want to leave.

The location of this property was perfect . If you are doing the Via Francigiena this is idyllic . Although the rooms are basic they are clean .The staff were very accommodating . We had a lovely meal in the hotel restaurant.

The WiFi is not dependable and as other reviewers have said there is a need for better curtains for room privacy . If you want air conditioning it is advisable to let the hotel know in advance as there are only 5 rooms with air con.

Very nice personel, super helpful :) Great location - quiet and calm place, but also close to town center and highway going to Florence or Siena. Very tasty breakfasts. Delicious dinner options that are reasonable priced! Ancient thermal baths within 2min walk from the place :)

The only thing qualifying to work on is WiFi coverage (no reception inside apartment)

This is a beautiful property right on the Via Francigena. Giro the host was super friendly and helpful to pilgrims. The on-property restaurant is really excellent and had a good vibe, and they serve an outstanding breakfast. I was grateful for the hard-boiled eggs and deli meats that I could pack for the day's walk. And I loved the restaurant staff and the awesome Fernando, who gave me a ride. I felt very cared for as a single traveler. My stay was a highlight of the trip.

This isn't the fault of the Hotel. But pilgrims on the VF need to know this isn't in Colle di Val d'Elsa. It's a bunch of kilometers AFTER. This matters if you're tired with sore feet and rushing to meet their check-in deadline. I totally miscalculated and had to call Giro
