Hotel Trieste is in an amazing position, in the historical centre near the opera house and only a few minutes walk from the main sights in or near Piazza Duomo (Cathedral square) and Piazza l'Universita (lively square with music). Street food eateries of the pescheria as well as the restaurants and cafes in the heart of Catania are also only a few minutes walk away. It is a quiet and safe area during the day and at night. Rooms and entry to the hotel are very secure. Bus stops are a minutes walk away and the airport bus stops nearby. The train station to go further afield is a 15min walk away. The room was superbly clean and serviced daily. An especially nice touch is that water is provided in the mini fridge daily. I stayed in April and the weather was cold at night, the air con system allows you to cool or warm the room as needed. Breakfast was an excellent continental breakfast which was slightly different each day. A nice mix of pastries, bread, yogurt, cereal etc. Everyone at the hotel is very friendly and helpful and they are all genuinely lovely people- a real asset to Hotel Trieste. I highly recommend Hotel Trieste and hope to visit again in the future.

This little hotel in the heart of Catania is more than just a hotel. It’s the heart & soul & hard work of the wonderful owners Marco & Chiara. I chose to stay here for my 10day holiday after reading so many positive reviews from others on Booking.com & I can tell you, it was the best decision I made. I think I would liken Hotel Trieste more to a bed & breakfast. In the sense that the place is smaller (which was nicer for me personally) & you definitely had a much more personal experience staying there. Which made the stay nicer. Located in the centre of Catania, 5minutes away from the main Piazza with cathedrals, original markets & main shopping streets. Multiple lovely restaurants within 5mins walk as well with good food, great settings. 15mins walk from places like the bus station or a Lido to swim at. Very handy location. The place even has an off street, locked away parking lot for those that choose to hire a car for their stay. Chiara & Marco were just wonderful hosts getting in touch before arrival with information about the hotel, things to do in the area & a photo of your room. The place was tastefully decorated & I must say the beds & pillows were super comfy (that to me is an important part of staying somewhere else as you are in bed half your stay). As I was staying a little longer, after a couple days they upgraded me to a bigger room which was so kind of them. Loved it as I got a view down the street & a little balcony. They do a nice breakfast at their hotel each morning & good coffee. The rooms were lovely, good air con, a little fridge, wardrobe, en-suite. Mine even had a 2 seater couch. It’s not everyday you stay somewhere & have good conversations with your hosts, have a drink with them, get offered breakfast to your room that I enjoyed on the balcony. On top of all this, the place is affordable to stay at. I cannot recommend this place enough. And would happily stay here again.

We liked the hotel so much we booked it three times during our Sicily trip. Room was good, bathroom good, and nice firm beds. Location is excellent in relaxed neighborhood within minutes walking from main Duomo square, fish market, and streets with restaurants and pubs. Very friendly and supportive hotel management who suggested great restaurants and also immediately booked them for us. Private (paid) parking area behind the hotel so no need to search for parking space. Added pleasure was the long hotel history associated with the Bellini theatre next door. On Saturday nights there are lots of young people parading in this Bellini area. We had room with balcony. Doors with double shutters minimized street noise.

Ciara & Marco were lovely, helpful hosts. The hotel is charming & full of character. Our room was very clean & comfortable & felt very secure. Location was excellent, just a few minutes walk from the main attractions, shopping streets & many cafes & restaurants. Breakfast was simple but with enough choices to suit everyone. Bed was firm & comfy. Parking at the property was easy & much appreciated given the parking limitations in the city. Great value for money & we highly recommend. Only stayed 2 nights but it was the perfect start to our holiday. We’d definitely stay here again. Thanks for the lovely stay.

It was well located, close to the old city’s attractions. Secure parking onsite was a bonus. The bed was firm which we liked, the linen felt like good quality. The hosts were exceptional, doing everything they could to make our stay comfortable and memorable. One little thing was carrying our luggage up the stairs to our room, and back down when we were leaving. Another was allowing us to leave the car parked securely after we checked out, which meant we could spend some more time exploring the old town.

On first arrival it made us wonder if we’d made a good decision - the locale is a bit dingy with a lot of graffiti. But once inside it was a haven to explore from. The light was pretty intrusive around the door at night - we like a dark room so it was an aggravation. Oh, and the hotel is inside a ZLT which requires a permit for our car - the hosts quickly arranged this, but we just weren’t aware before we had risked a fine getting to the hotel.

A brilliant location for visiting Catania. Right in the centre, only 10 minutes from main attractions (e.g cathedral). Lots of restaurants nearby. The room was perfect. Very clean. Marco was amazing. Very helpful & accommodating. All staff were very friendly. Taxi transfer to airport organised for us. A great ‘private’ hotel. Very personal.

When we arrived, we weren’t sure how to find it. It’s not easy to locate at first visit & the taxi driver wasn’t sure either. Better, clearer signage would help. It’s important to agree a check in / arrival time to ensure you are met. That Sid, it was in a great location.

Hotel was charming with a great mixture of traditional and modern. The room was large and comfortable. Good choice of fresh food at bteakfast. Helpful, friendly owner and staff. Location was good, in the heart of the old towm, a few minutes walk from thr beautiful main square. Thank you

Both of these outwith the control of the hotel - noise coming from a bar accross the road late into the night - beautiful old buildings (and others) scarred with ugly grafitti, in keeping with our experience in Palermo and such a shame.

The hotel is exceptionally clean. The beds are very comfortable with memory foam mattresses and pillows. The bathroom is quite spacious as well. Breakfast is very good with fresh food every day. Marco and Diego were super nice always ready to help. I will definitely stay at Hotel Trieste on my next stay in Catania. I highly recommend it.

The property is located in the city center just a few meters away from the from Piazza Duomo and Via Etnea.

Hotel communication started before Check In process and all went smooth when we arrive the facility. Entrance was a bit tricky but our parking place and room was waiting us. Very helpful staff. High quality bed and bed sheets. Nice refrigerator and a modern TV was inside our room. Property is located at the heart of the city with it’s secure parking place, shortly very high Price/Performance ratio

When you are at the heart of the city, some bars and restaurants are located nearby. Although doors and windows are well isolated, some notices shall come from the street.

The location was very good, just the right distance from the piazza in my opinion, having parking was abonus. The street below could be noisy once the bars open but quiet at 0100. The staff were excellent and very informative. The room itself was very nice, spacious and comfortable, somewhat of a boutique feel. The breakfast area wasn't available at the time; however, the staff provided a somewhat continental option upon requested timing.

Difficult location to find initially when its dark, but we didn't seek direction at the time but I'm also sure it would have been provided if asked.
