Fantastic location, right in the heart of the old town. Staff are kind and helpful. They have a storage area for bikes if you need it. Breakfast was great. Drink the espresso or cappuccino from the bar, not the machine. They didn't charge extra. Highly recommend.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a beautifully restored hotel in the heart of Grosetto. Known to us as the “old lady,” this historic gem was built in 1912 and combines classic elegance with all the modern amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Every corner of the hotel exudes character, from the thoughtfully selected art pieces that grace the walls to the beautiful wooden furnishings that give a warm, timeless feel. The location couldn’t be more ideal. Just outside the front doors, you’ll find yourself amidst a vibrant selection of restaurants, bars, and shops, making it the perfect base for exploring the town. Despite being centrally located, parking was surprisingly easy—there’s a convenient lot right outside the Roman Mural, only 100 metres from the hotel. A special shout-out to Mrs. Lorena, who went above and beyond each morning at breakfast. Her kindness and attentiveness added to the welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast itself was a delightful spread, catering to all tastes and dietary preferences. I had the best scrambled eggs ever! For those who appreciate the charm of historic design, artistic touches, and the convenience of modern comforts, this hotel is an exceptional choice. Highly recommended!

Phenomenal staff, excellent location

Air conditioning isn’t great, but you don’t really need it

We loved the charm of this grand old hotel, beautifully decorated and the perfect location right inside the old city walls. The staff were excellent, friendly and full of good recommendations. Parking is very close by and convenient (you can stop right outside the hotel for half an hour to offload your bags, just make sure to tell the reception so they can take a photo and make the necessary arrangements). The deluxe room was very clean and spacious, breakfast was delicious. Some people mention that the carpets etc are a little dated, but to be honest this is probably why the value for money is so good, so for us it was perfect. 10/10

Parking complicated and adjacent but not part of hotel

Everything!!! 15 to 20mins walk from the railway station or the local bus service can do drop off/ pick up just outside the hotel. We chose the pleasant walk. The hotel was quite central for bars, food, shopping & sightseeing. Comfortable huge bed, clean towels daily, English TV channel (we like to listen to the world news). Simple but adequate buffet breakfast. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Lovely spacious accommodation. A/C in the room.

Noisy neighbours!

A bit of dated, provincial glory, but then it matches most of Grosseto, as far as I could tell. Not quite 4 stars, but certainly adequate with helpful staff. Pleasant surroundings inside the walled town. Fluffy towels, good soundproofing, comfy breakfast restaurant with adequate buffet, though somewhat limited. They have a pancake robot!

My room was a bit claustrophobic or gloomy. Nothing serious. Poorly placed soap bottles are a pain. Odd light switches with relays.

Excellent location, traditional hotel that tells of an impressive past (with great artwork throughout) very comfortable, and the staff was exceptionally warm and helpful.

Some things could use updating, but also I appreciate the classic vibe of the place -- like the intercom system by the beds!

Really friendly staff who recommended and booked an amazing restaurant. Bike storage which was safe and secure and really friendly breakfast staff with good quality. Location perfect to walk around and catch the bus to the beach!

I knew before I arrived as it was the room I selected but be aware you cannot open any windows in the room. This might not be for everyone.
