The room (Templari) was beautiful. The restoration of the property has been done sensitively and our room was very well appointed. At first we were concerned that it might be very noisy at night as it opened out directly onto the street at ground level. However, with the shutters fully closed this was not an issue and we slept soundly in the very comfortable bed. We loved the arrangement with Miro cafe for breakfast which was plentiful and delicious. Diletta was super helpful! She is very knowledgable and passionate about the history of the Palazzo and the ancient synagogue beneath it. Her english was superb and she was so welcoming with her explanation of the property and helping us with our luggage on the check out day.

Just a couple of tiny things that we felt would improve the room - there was no waste paper bin in the bedroom and the basin tap sprays water onto the mirror and floor when it is turned on full. This makes the floor very slippery. It needs to be mended.

Great location and extremely helpful staff who went out of their way to make bookings for us and give recommendations. The rooms were very comfortable. Checkin was easy and they prebooked parking for us.

The showers were crazily small - but understandable given they’ve obviously been retrofitted into a very old building. The walk from the car park with luggage was pretty long - probably 10 minutes - and there was possibly a closer car park on the other side of the town. The comfort of the rooms and friendly helpful staff definitely outweighed these negatives

The staff were so kind and welcoming. They arranged parking for us in a nearby paid lot and offered loads of information about places to eat. They also offered free tours of the Jewish Museum of Lecce, which is connected to the property. The location right next to the cathedral in a major town square was excellent; we were within walking distance to everything. We got a room upgrade and it was very clean and spacious; it all seemed renovated rather recently. The bed was also large and comfortable. The breakfast was arranged with the next door cafe/restaurant which was fine but nothing stellar. We went one morning and then explored cafes recommended by staff on the others.

The shower was very tiny, for my husband especially, but we made it work:)

Beautiful and clean room! They went above and beyond to help us ! They even arranged the parking for us and called a taxi to take us from and to the garage at check in and check out. Helped us with our bags and catered to our every need. They also have tours available and can help you arrange everything. Diletta gave us some amazing recommendations to check out in town which I really appreciated! She was always available to answer any questions no matter what time! She really made us feel welcome and special! The place is right in the center and the location couldn’t be more perfect! Don’t walk, run and book it!

Nothing to not like

First, Diletta is an exceptional host —welcoming, and and a helpful, accessible communicator. Always quick and thorough, she answered all of our pre-arrival questions, provided suggestions, and stayed late to accommodate our evening arrival. She ensured our comfort in getting settled, while also sharing the fascinating history of our “Sinogoga” quarters. We also enjoyed and learned much from Elena, during the next day’s hour of the Judeo Museo!

Wish we could have stayed longer.

The property fits in with the so-rounding community. “Old City Lecce which is in the Puglia region. My room was upgraded for no reason. I had my own courtyard and room with in. Best of all it was in the center of Old City.

Old City is pretty social and when you see my pictures if you go to bed early you will hear noises. I had no problem. I was glad people were having a good time.

The best hotel of my entire trip! I truly and sincerely recommend staying at Palazzo Persone because the friendliness of the staff, the level of attention to detail and care, and the comfort of the room make everything perfect! They even took care of my gluten-free breakfast and recommended places to eat without me having to worry about a thing!

The property is centrally located within easy reach of all of the main attractions of this beautiful city. It's a stunning building with so much history and the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and at home. The food is delicious too and served on phenomenally attractive plates that you normally only get at higher class restaurants. The team helped us with parking, luggage, itineraries and just everything - honestly, it's a faultless establishment and is a great base from which to explore further. Thanks for a memorable stay!

Nothing, all really good

This was a real gem. The location of the place is perfect. Just next to Basilica di Santa Croce, and 50 meters form Piazza Sant'Oronzo. It is in the very historical Building in the old Palazio. It is perfectly renovated inside, but with the remains of the old historical artefacts, specifically preserved under the glass floor presented with lights. All windows which were very highly placed on the high walls were easy manageable through automatic electronic tasters. Francesco was a perfect host, that provides you the feeling that you are staying at some friend's villa for the weekend. I felt like at home.

Stayed in the synagogue room, very spacious, tall ceilings, two rooms, one with a single bed, another with a queen - super clean, cool design & in the heart of the city. Walking distance to so much, really central and great location, couldn't have asked for more.

Floors are super cool and see through to show original aged stone below. But that means the door to get in and out gets stuck every time and you have to really push hard and pull hard to close the door. Not a hugely bad thing in the grand scheme of a great place to stay. Just annoying.
