I was a bit nervous about booking the hotel with Hotiday as my uncle, who lives in Livorno said there is no Hotiday Hotel in Livorno. The address was the same as the Grand Hotel which he said is very nice. But all was fine! Basically everything was the same as if I had booked directly with the Grand Hotel. The room was lovely. The staff were friendly. I had use of the roof top pool and bar, parking (at extra cost. Same as for all guests) etc. The only difference was a smaller window and not directly facing the sea. I have circled, in the photo, the room window. Hotiday seem to have those set of rooms. I am guessing as someone booking the Grand Hotel at the higher prices might complain about not having the usual view. But I spent the days outside the room so wasn’t bothered. The Pancaldi opposite is a great place to spend time. Pisa and Lucca are less than an hour away etc. I’d certainly book there again and via Hotiday.

The cost of parking (€18 per day).

Great location for the night before going on a cruise. It’s a little bit of a walk to get into the main part of town and perhaps to far to walk with a suitcase if going to the cruise port. Other reviews are correct, it can be hard to get a taxi, we where okay when we arrived but we ended up getting the local bus from the port station - it was so cheap but you had to hold of for dear life haha.

We asked the property to call us a taxi to take us to the port. The taxi over charged us heavily for a 8 min drive. Ask before getting into the taxi, the night before was a meter so didn’t think we needed to ask.

It's a beautiful building in the perfect location - right on the sea front. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the service was excellent. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. There was a facility for sunbathing on the roof as well

Unfortunately, the week I was there, the temperature dropped considerably, so at times my room felt a little cool. However, I understand that in Italy, after a certain date, by law the heating is switched off and can't be switched on again, so it wasn't the fault of the hotel staff

A lovely hotel from the beginning of the 20th century with an atmosphere that brings you back in time. Very clean and comfortable room. We appreciated the kettle to make tea in the evening. The breakfast was excellent.

One thing: I would expect to have real glasses in the bathroom instead of one-use plastic cups (it's a 5-star hotel). Also, strange to have a coffee machine in the room without providing capsules to actually make coffee.

Good value for the money. Buffet breakfast was amazing. Great selections that even included smoked salmon. Friendly staff.

Called the number given during the booking to ask them to pick us up from the railway station, but the person receiving the phone could not speak English. Suggested that I call back in an hour. Taxis were a rare commodity in this city. Uber was not available.

Location was great, friendly helpful staff, good breakfast selection and the room was comfortable with good air con. Proximity to restaurants and bars was good but was quiet in our room.

The grout in the bathroom was a bit icky. Would have been nice to use pool later into the evening

To do an early check-in online does not really give much, you still need to do check-in once you come to the hotel.

Beautiful hotel. Breakfast was an amazing feast. Very helpful staff. Great location with bus stops right outside.

Bed was uncomfortable. Probably due to the mattress protector. It was lumpy. Veiw was the back of the building. Pool was cold and had to pay, so didn't use.

The location was excellent, the rooftop restaurant and bar has a fabulous view. The staff were excellent from the first meet and greet to check out. Fabriana in the restaurant was particularly good. This is our second stay at the hotel and it was as good as our last time.

The room was beautiful and property was gorgeous. We slept with our window open and the entire property was silent. It was so peaceful! Breakfast buffet was lovely and worth every cent. Customer service was on point. We recommend this location and would stay again!
