Staff was really nice, check-in was smooth. The villa is located 300m from city wall Jacopo gate. for 10 euro per day i could park on villas backyard. There were old bikes freely available so we could bike around the city wall which is great fun. lock was provided for the bikes so we could lock the bikes while we visited Duomo or other places. Lucca historical city is not to big so you can walk it, but with these old bikes we were like a local and we could visit everything in a half day. Breakfast was simple but good, bread, butter, ham, cheese, yoghurt, juice, capuchino and brioche. You can.make tea in the room or you can buy coffee capsule at the reception and there are cups and coffee maker .

i received what i expected from a last century villa.

This was our second stay at Villa Catelli. We have travelled several times to Lucca, and we absolutely love the city, the genuinity of the surroundings and the people, all the good restaurants, and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. The location of Villa Catelli is perfect, as it's a short walk to the old town. The street is surprisingly quiet, as is the villa. The sisters are friendly and accommodating. We keep coming back to Lucca, one of our favourite places in Italy, and Villa Catelli will be our first choice of accommodation.

A peaceful and cosy place. Nicely decorated with old furniture. Celeste is a very warm and friendly person (and her sister as well). Ample breakfast with eggs, toast, fresh fruit, and gluten free products. It's a short and easy walk to the old town. We really enjoyed the serenity and relaxed atmosphere after a day out exploring the area. Lucca is a town we keep coming back to, and Villa Catelli is certainly a great place to stay.

The mattress was a bit hard (foam rubber, maybe?). Whole grain bread would have been nice in addition to the white bread, but all in all, the room was comfortable, and breakfast was good.

Whenever we go to Corsica we stop on the way home in Lucca and in the Villa Catelli. Céleste is a very friendly and helpful person. Villa Catelli has become a little home on the way home. Meeting locals in a country makes a visit so much more real. As long as we will be able to come to Lucca we will choose Villa Catelli. We also like is that we can use their bycicles. It is worth cycling on the city wall on Lucca. Villa Catelli is right next to the city walls. Arrividerci Celeste and also Ilaria (her twin sister). See you soon again.

Safety; clean rooms, clean sheets, comfortable, proximity to restaurants and historic area, very friendly staff - shout out to Celeste, Hilaria and Stefano. Celeste was always prompt with answering questions regarding the property facilities and other issues about the area.

The bathroom in the master bedroom is not very user friendly, the tub is too deep to get into, specially for older people. The front veranda rails are a bit mouldy.

We received a warm welcome from Celeste even though we arrived much earlier than planned. Our room was on the first floor and was excellent in all respects. Celeste handed over pre-prepared maps to each of us, showing entry into Lucca, typical routes around and locations of favourite restaurants & gelateria indicated. It was a great help. Breakfasts were very good and tasty and we especially liked the scrambled egg…..a “must have” for us each morning. We thought the villa perfectly located, just 5 minutes outside the city walls. We also loved the outdoor garden area, finishing off each day sitting out there with a glass of red reviewing our day & planning the next …a lovely finish to each day. At the end of our stay Celeste sorted our Trenitalia tickets to Pisa Aeroporto & printed them off for us – a brilliant additional service.

We stayed here on our way back to Pisa and I would really recommend! The B&B is super cute and just a 5 minute-walk from the city walls. We were able to park the car inside the property (for 10 euros) and the check-in instructions were very easy to follow. We were also able to leave the car there for the rest of the day after check-out whilst we went sightseeing in Lucca. Celeste, the host, was very attentive in case we needed anything. The room was big and the AC was working perfectly. Would stay here again!

The bed wasn't very comfortable, the mattress seemed quite old.

Location was great. just outside of old walls. walking distance. parking was on site behind security gates which was comforting. property was beautiful located down a road full of trees. very large rooms with lovely bathroom and old style windows. breakfast was superb. plenty of choice for a long day ahead. every where was clean and tidy and old style. the host was absolutely wonderful. always available via phone and so helpful for hints and tips on travelling eating and sites to see. she really helped all guests and had lovely chats at breakfast. the best choice. thank you.

Really easy self check in. Owners couldn't be more helpful and made our stay very pleasant. Breakfast selection great, including gluten free options. Off street parking a bonus when free street parking not available. All in all very happy!

Clean and comfortable 3-star B & B, exactly as described. An easy 15 minute stroll to the city centre. Quiet building in a quiet neighborhood. It has on-site parking which is a good idea since the on street parking was busy. Friendly and efficient hosts and a typical Italian buffet breakfast. Recommended and we' d stay again.
