We only had one night in Matera at the end of a 2-week road trip and decided it would be more convenient to stay just outside the old town. We then drove to the old town and easily found parking (this was the end of May, not sure how easy this would be in high season). We also took a taxi there and back in the evening which cost 15-20 euros each way. The hotel was really comfortable, room was modern, all the staff were super-friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. In terms of decor, facilities and comfort, this was by far the best hotel we'd stayed in during our trip.

The only downside is the traffic noise as it's located at a busy road junction. But this is pointed out in the reviews so we expected it, especially considering the price we paid, and to be honest everything else about the hotel was extremely positive.

The staff were very kind and helpful, and specifically a lady (apologies, I don't remember the name, but it was starting with an A), who helped us with sightseeing advice and also recommended some amazing restaurants - top recommendations really! The garden is lovely, breakfast very diverse and delicious. The room was spacious and comfortable. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and we regretted booking for only a single night. We happened to be there on my birthday and I had a really wonderful time.

The location is a bit awkward if you want to go to the Sassi by public transport, but it's manageable.

We especially liked the friendliness of the staff, everybody was ever so nice, they had a lot of useful information about the area, places to visit, restaurant recommendations etc. We had a very spacious suite wich came with a beautiful modern bathroom. During our last visit in Matera we stayed in a cave hotel where our room was humid and cold. We therefore opted for a comfortable hotel room with a well working central heating. Everything was impeccably clean. The breakfast had a very good choice of sweet and savoury items. We did not have the time to use the spa facilities, but maybe another time. The hotel has a parking just outside in the courtyard and two elevators for easy luggage transport. This would certainly be the hotel of our choice for a next visit to Matera.

This is a lovely hotel on the outskirts of Matera in a lovely garden setting; private parking on site; room was large, modern & comfortable with fridge, TV, modern bathroom, small balcony; staff very polite & helpful with advice on Matera, guides, etc; Breakfast was very good, large selection of fruits, cereals, breads, etc. Everything spotlessly clean, a great stay. Beautiful integration between old stone structures and modern finishes. The room was large and equipped with kitchen facilities. The location is just outside the center, but with easy parking for the car. The personnel was outstanding in terms of friendliness, customer mindset, and promptness to response!

Good location, easy parking. The hotel was modern and bright and the room was very stylish, beautiful bathroom and very clean. Fabulous breakfast with a great choice of buffet food. All the staff were very professional, helpful, and considerate during our stay. Highly recommend this hotel for visiting Matera and the surrounding area.

First it is conveniente if you are with your car. The atmosphere of the place is very good. The room is spacious and decorated with modern simplicity. The bathroom is also spacious and loved the amenities, which shows the thoughts to proportionate the best to the customers. The breakfast was also very good.

The staff were fantastic, very helpful, courteous and relaxed. All of the furniture and bathroom fittings were high end expensive type fittings and it was honestly one of the cleanest places we have stayed in. The food at breakfast time was well presented and again with high quality produce.

It was a little difficult to see the hotels signage from the road so we drove past it a few times.

Wonderful staff, breakfast and very comfortable and clean room. The staff helped us with maps and taxis as well, which was great. Super spot for visiting Matera for a night and then driving to Bari airport the next day with our rental car.

Taxis are about €20 to the old town area, so it’s a bit too expensive to go exploring in Matera, come back to the hotel to refresh and then head out again.

We very much enjoyed our stay and the location of the hotel so close to the old city part is very convenient. A great thanks to the friendly staff. A special thank goes to the very friendly server at the breakfast! The nearby beaches are nice for a cool-down on a hot day.
