Personal look at the guests with warmth, familiarity, and great attention. Extremely kind. The location is excellent—just a few minutes from the city center. The surroundings may not be the most beautiful, but the hotel is very well situated. Durucqk is a lovely place. The hotel is clean. The locals are warm and welcoming.

At first glance, the surroundings are quite simple since the hotel is located right next to the pier. However, given its excellent location, this wasn’t a concern for me—especially because the staff works very hard to make guests feel welcome. The hotel is just a 3-minute walk from the city center, where you can find everything you need: boutiques, cafes, restaurants, the riverfront, and shops. The beach is also only about 12 minutes away.

We chose this hotel for its perfect location to the port to visit the Aeolian islands. From the minute we arrived we were greeted by all the staff with a friendly manner and a big smile. Even though we could not really speak Italian they went out of their way to help us and communicate the best they could. Would like to give a special mention to Simona who from the very beginning from booking back in Australia, she was very kind and helpful. Always answering my many questions. Every morning in the breakfast area a beautiful Mariella greeted us so warmly and went out of her way to make us feel welcome and waited on us with whatever we wanted. I would 100% recommend Hotel La Bussola. We hope to come back one day. Thank you Paul & Sandra

Firstly I’d like to say how much help the receptionist gave my parents who travelled 34 hours from Australia to get to their hotel last night at 23:00pm, they were very kind and considerate and messaged me in Australia after I had asked them to let me know when my parents had arrived as my moms phone wasn’t working. My parents are elderly travelling on their own. They even booked my parents on the hydrafoil to Lipari this morning and let me know the time they would arrive there! I would be recommending La Bussola to all that are on their way to the Eolian Islands. I can’t thank you enough for being so kind. And upon speaking king to mom she said the hotel was beautiful. :))

The location of this hotel is excellent, just diagonally across the street from the Milazzo Port entrance (5 minutes walk) for the Liberty Lines Fast ferry hydrofoil. This hotel is quite modern and comfortable. Before arriving to the hotel, we spent all day from catching a morning flight from Tunis, Tunisia to Catania, Italy by connecting through Rome. Afterward, we got on the airport shuttle and spent 2 more hours to arrive in Milazzo port. With not much sun light left for the day, we wandered around the Milazzo city center and found a great seafood restaurant hidden inside an ally. All in all, after an evening stroll, a warm shower and a comfortable bed, we were rejuvenated to start another journey in Lipari.

The Hotel is perfectly situated, just a five min stroll to the centre. The staff in the reception were serviceminded and very helpful. The lady at breakfast was very kind saying I could have my room until 11.30. Much appreciated!

The service at breakfast was a bit slow and it was difficult to communicate with the staff as they spoke very little or no English. I asked for fried egg, but got scrambled. Not a big of a deal, but when they came to serve I said I asked for a fried egg and they replied saying I would have to pay extra for a fried egg and that it was only scrambled eggs that was included in the breakfast. It took almost fifteen minutes to make, and I was the only person at breakfast. Otherwise not much variety, ham and cheese. Ok breakfast.

Our experience was exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to assist us with anything we needed. They helped us find and recommend local attractions and even contacted the cruise company late at night when we realized we had left something behind. On the day of our checkout, when we struggled to find a taxi, they did everything possible to assist us. The facilities were all in top-notch condition. Overall, an amazing experience!

This was the best hotel. We had a stop over prior to heading to the Aeolian Islands and the team couldn’t have been more helpful….both prior to checking via messages and when we arrived the team couldn’t do enough for us. Paid parking was available for our trip to the islands also which made everything so easy. As we are non-Italian speakers we really appreciated the team’s communication with us. Walking distance to everywhere in Milazzo.

We had a glass of wine and a beer and when we went to pay next morning we had also asked for a taxi to be booked to bring us to train station. Total cost €50!! Taxi from station to hotel was €15. I questioned the bill and the lady told me it was ten euro for each of the drinks and 30 for taxi . Taxi was a battered car and driver was on Facebook as he drove us !

Super close to the Liberty Lines Ferry departure point (7 mins walk). Mario was amazing… parked the car for us and allowed us to park for an extra day even though we were on Stromboli! (Also looked after our suitcases).

Maybe you could offer a simple grab-and-go breakfast for early ferry departures? Standard breakfast time 07:00.

What an extremely well run, friendly, helpful and very reasonably priced hotel! The manager, Mario, greeted us like family, arranging everything we needed and even parking our car free of charge while we settled into our room which was modern, well appointed and immaculately clean. He also gave us excellent travel advice for our day trip to the islands and the best places to see in Milazzo. We have only warm memories of our days there.
