-strange that lunch is not an option, also drinks are not available -breakfast soso, and quite simple -sleeping on the couch and sitting in the chair. Both are old and depreciated and up for replacement -restaurant, we had tuna and meat and were not feeling well for several days. Freshness and preparation of food questionnable

We loved our stay here! As a family of 4 with two young kids the pool area was perfect and we loved that we had our own designated pool side area with gazebo and sun loungers. The breakfast box deliveries in the morning were wonderful - fresh pastries, yoghurt and fruit - which we could eat in the privacy of our apartment or on our balcony. The staff were very helpful and gave us local restaurant recommendations. We were very sad to leave and will be back!

It was extremely hot when we visited and the stand alone air conditioning units did a job but not as well as built in units - this didn’t really bother us though as the property is so old and steeped in history, that was more important.

The abbey is beautiful as well as the rooms, very rustic. Staff super helpful. Lovely breakfast although not with regional products which I thought would give an extra to the deal.

The heating of the living room stops working at night and we can’t control it in any way. The dishes and kitchenware was all IKEA, in a place like that I thought it deserve something better. The history of the abbey and all the history behind the scene is nowhere to be found in the lodging it’s such a shame.

Very beautiful location. Stunning castle. We stayed in the royal suite which was amazing and equipped with a private large hot tub on a loft upstairs. The water was always really hot and the beds are really comfortable.

We stayed for 3 nights, and when they asked if we wanted breakfast (because it is not included) we said yes. They brought breakfast the first morning, but the second morning they didn’t. Then they told us we need to request breakfast at reception every day for the next day. This seemed a bit ridiculous as they didn’t tell us that at check in and you don’t need to do this anywhere else. Also the notes saying we must clean up everything after ourselves because ‘we do not pay a cleaning fee’, I should hope paying €163 per night DOES include a cleaning fee as I do not pay this money to sweep floors on vacation.

A wonderful hotel with very green surroundings, and everything is thought out to the smallest detail. It's very quiet at night, and we slept great — the mattresses are very comfortable. The breakfast is served in a unique way, with options for sweet, savory, or gluten-free meals. The location is very convenient; from here, we visited many cities in Tuscany as well as local wineries.

Not that these are real downsides, and they don't affect my rating in any way, but there was a humming sound in the bedroom at night, possibly from the air conditioner in the neighboring room. I hope this information will help the hotel management improve the situation. Also, the kettle in the kitchen wasn't exactly a kettle — it was hard to get boiling water for tea, as it was just warm.

I had stayed here 8 years ago for 1 night and had fond memories of this place. This time, we stayed for 7 nights and we were extremely satisfied. The room we stayed in was huge and felt like our own little house. We had a kitchen, so we bought our own food and cooked some nights, which was really nice and made it feel like home away from home. The place is beautiful, a former abbey that once housed Templar Monks that has been renovated into a hotel. The location is great, super close to Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino, etc. Staff is very kind and friendly. Highly recommend it!

Right now they are not doing a traditional hotel breakfast, instead, there's a basket that is delivered to your room. You choose from a savory or sweet breakfast, and they send you croissants, yogurt, crackers, etc. It's ok, but after having it for one day we decided it was best to buy our own things and make our own breakfast. Overall, not a huge deal in my opinion, but if you like hotel breakfasts you might be disappointed.

The grounds of the accommodation are stunning. The location is easy to access via car, off of a main road, and is a very good central base to travel around Val D'Orcia. The rooms are spacious and the bed was comfortable. The wi-fi worked well. The breakfast, should you choose to order it for Euro 8 each, was simple and tasty and arrived in a cute wooden box. You can order a savoury or sweet breakfast. The savoury breakfast comes with a hard boiled egg, a salami sandwich and some fruit. The sweet breakfast comes with pastries, granola, yogurt and fruit. We found it more than plentiful. There is a coffee machine that uses pods. The accommodation provided 2 pods initially, and provided additional pods with out breakfast. The attached restaurant (Fondo) was excellent. It is not open on Mondays, but we ate there on the Sunday and the Tuesday of our stay. I would highly recommend.

The water temperature in the kitchen sink and bathroom shower were finicky.... either very hot or cool. The shower is quite cramped. I am slender so I could manage. However, those who are larger may be challenged. I am not sure if this is the case for all of the rooms so you may want to inquire if this is an issue for you. While it was not a problem for us as we had a car, it should be noted that there are no restaurants or cafes within walking distance of the accommodation. There was no microwave or oven in the unit. Once again, not a problem for our short stay, it may be an issue for some if you plan on cooking or reheating items.

The building is beautiful, with each room having a lovely little private terrace where breakfast is served. Breakfast comes in a little box to your room, so you can enjoy it when you want, in all peace and quiteness. We loved the concept and allowed us to truly enjoy the spectacular building. Also, the bed was really large and comfortable. Mosquitonets in front of the windows were great to enjoy Toscany's cool evenings.

Other than the bed, the furniture could use an update. Also, to boil water in the milk-foamer is a bit odd... However, overall still very recommentable.

We arrived at the place at night, driving on a dark road until we reached the gorgeous complex of the place. Amarili met us, with a big smile and a lot of patience, explained us about the place and took us to our apartment. We got an apartment with a sauna, a large living room and a bedroom. The apartment is simply furnished, authentic to Tuscany. The place is suitable for a family, we were a couple. It is advisable to spend a few days there and not one night like us. We were not able to enjoy everything the facility has to offer.

In such a large apartment there was no kitchen and it was missing. Breakfast came in a box. It is very nice to receive the meal in the room but the meal was very poor, there was not even butter. It is necessary to improve and enrich the meal
