Beautifully decorated country home with lots of thoughtful details. Soft linens and towels plus bathrobes. Breakfast was beautifully done, served on nice China and fully dressed tables. Sandra, the host even offered to make us eggs, freshly baked cakes and small sandwiches made for a good start to the day. The pool had nice loungers and was generally quiet during our stay.

One flight up to our room, so climbing steps was necessary. To be expected when staying in a country house. Our particular room had a shared living room with another guest. We didn’t really need it anyway so it’s not a problem for us.

Beautiful, peaceful setting with pastoral views. Everything was superb! Sandra is phenomenal! She makes sure your stay is incredible. The beds are comfortable with exquisite linens. Sparkling baths, with nice sized, soft towels. Overall well appointed with pleasant touches to make our stay enjoyable and relaxing. The breakfast exceeded our expectations and is particularly noteworthy, many delicious choices! Cannot say enough about her hospitality and first rate accommodation. If you are staying in Montepulciano it is a 5 star choice.

There is absolutely nothing to dislike!

Sandra is a wonderful, warm and welcoming host, not to mention a marvellous cook - the breakfasts offered are just delicious and so nicely presented. Our apartment was spacious and beautifully clean and we thoroughly enjoyed using the pool. We only wish that we had booked a longer stay!

Honestly, everything was perfect even if one generally does need to get in the car to go for dinner. The quiet and safe location more than makes up for that though.

First of all, Sandra is AMAZING!!! She was super accommodating for two Americans who were trying to navigate around Tuscany. We arrived late and in the pouring rain, and she was so sweet to help us order pizza. The breakfast was delicious, bed was comfortable, AC worked well, and easy to access the bus stop. When we were ready to leave for the train station, we had difficulty trying to get a taxi. Sandra’s husband was so kind to drive us there and we are so appreciative of that!

Our only complaint is that the hot water ran out quickly & the spa tub was slow to fill up. Everything else was great!!

The room was impeccable. Very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was generous and delightful. And we loved the pool / and it’s surrounding area, which was great to swim in and to relax around.

Nothing, everything was great about the property and its owner / host, who was lovely. Sandra also gave us some good recommendations of places to eat. The only thing that would have made it better, would’ve been somewhere good to eat or drink, within walking distance, but this did NOT distract from our stay and the wonderful time we had here. We would love to return.

It's an oasis of calm, much welcome after touring busy hill towns and driving winding roads. The apartment Basilico was charming, clean, spacious for 2. We cooked dinner in our apartment twice and appreciated that all the basics were there. This apartment has a private terrace with furniture, which was a comfortable place to relax or eat dinner. Pool area clean, beautiful greenery all around. Host Sandra was exceptional: inviting personality, knowledge of area and recommendations, and the most amazing home made breakfasts.

We wished there had been a good restaurant within walking distance. Otherwise this was a perfect stay.

Sandra is a gem. She waits for you to arrive and gives you the key and shows you a couple of things. Her breakfast is such a treat and the place is immaculate and tastefully decorated. We stayed for 2 nights during March and although the nights were cold (after coming from Florence), the heat worked well. We brought our college aged daughter who had a semester in Florence into the country for a couple of days and the 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment was perfect. Due to the weather we could not enjoy the outside apartment patio in the evening. Also note that during off season during the weekday, a lot restaurants are closed. We ate the second night at La Grotta, which was amazing.

The floors in the apartment are a little chilly for barefeet, so just bring flip flops or extra pair of heavy socks.

This is the second time we have chosen L’Orto while visiting Tuscany. Sandra is an excellent host and very accommodating with excellent attention to details making your stay in heart of Tuscany so special. Excellent location with vineyard and olive trees surrounding property. Everything is immaculate- rooms, sitting area, swimming pool and grounds. Breakfast is excellent with coffee made to order. Beautiful, tranquil place. Dogs are welcome with no additional cost!

The property was beautiful! Great views of a vineyard and a beautiful pool area. Sandra was amazing! She made delicious breakfast and was very communicative and helpful during our stay

Would definitly recommend having a car or schedule taxis ahead of time. Finding a taxi was difficult and there are minimal options for food in walking distance

We enjoyed our stay in this wonderful property. Sandra is an excellent host, always ready to help, book restaurants and wine tours etc. The breakfast was delicious. A variety of different baking every morning. When we came back each day, we would find some cake in our room that Sandra had baked. It was always so good. It was a benefit having a lovely swimming pool at the property. The apartment was very clean and well decorated and had all the facilities we required.

When booking our stay, we could only get the 2 bedroom apartment which we didn’t need just for us two. It was very tastefully decorated with nice touches throughout, modern facilities but in traditional Italian decor. However we decided to sleep in the second bedroom upstairs rather than the main with the en-suite as there was not enough natural light in the main room and the window in the bathroom was covered which made the whole area very dark.
