A Dream Stay – Peaceful, Elegant, and Truly Unforgettable Staying at Villa Rucellai was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the Tuscan hills, this historic villa offered the perfect blend of old-world charm and modern comfort. The ambience is serene and breathtaking—waking up to panoramic views, birdsong, and the soft Tuscan light was an experience in itself. The rooms were impeccably clean, spacious, and thoughtfully decorated, retaining their classic character while providing all the comfort we needed. The common spaces, from the garden to the pool area, were beautifully maintained and added to the peaceful atmosphere. Breakfast each morning was a highlight—delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented with local breads, cheeses, fruits, and pastries, served in a lovely setting that made it feel like a private retreat. The hospitality was beyond exceptional. The hosts were warm, generous, and attentive without ever being intrusive. They went out of their way to make our stay special, offering local recommendations and genuine conversation that made us feel like treasured guests rather than just visitors. This is more than a place to stay—Villa Rucellai is an experience. It’s a place to slow down, to savor beauty, and to reconnect with the joy of travel. We left feeling rested, inspired, and already planning our return. Highly recommend for couples, families, or anyone seeking an authentic and soul-soothing escape in Tuscany.

Incredibly beautiful place! If you want to go beyond beauty and aesthetics, you must definitely visit this place. The villa belongs to the descendants of the Ruccelai family and is a living monument of history and architecture. It was created in the 12th century and was completed gradually. The hospitable host Giovanni will tell you the story in detail. Incredible interior immerses you in luxury and grandeur. The are cozy rooms which furnished in the best traditions of Italian villas. Luxurious garden and olive grove will not leave you indifferent. Breakfast is served on the veranda and it is a special kind of pleasure - excellent and varied food. A separate highlight is the opportunity to purchase olive oil and bianco wine, the producers of which are the owners of the villa. We highly recommend it! We were delighted and for our 10 years of travel experience this place deserves the highest rating! They opened a home restaurant. Delicious 🤌🤌🤌

That was truly a unique experience, living in a historic Italian villa. The interior, the furniture. the garden - everything felt very authentic. I spent a lot of time in the garden and in a common living room. Where were bottles of local wine available (for purchase in cash), along with clean glasses and a small fridge, which was thoughtful. Breakfast was very good. Bottles of water in a room. Extra woolen blankets (were handy for cold September nights) and more comfortable pillows in a closet.

Coffee on breakfasts could have been better. It was getting very chilly in the evenings in my room and bathroom (Mid-September). I wish I had a sweater and warm socks with me.

This is a fabulous villa located in the Tuscan hills....it is absolutely beautiful and the owner and family members were so kind, thoughtful and accommodating. The grounds, property, pool and breakfast was spectacular! And just a 20 min train ride to Florence. You have to want a "back in time" serene experience....because there is no TV and limited wifi. For me..that is just what I needed!

Just a lil challenging "getting there"....

An amazing place, full of history and energy that takes you back straight to the 15th century. The comun areas as living and breakfast room, the office and the entrance lobby kept so close to authentic state makes you so gratefull that you have the posibility to relax and enjoy a glass of wine at the end of the day. The breakfast was carrefully set with old and adequate mise en place and serviced, full of quality traditionally foods.

An extra attention to the minimum confort needed like a better quality of the matress, pillow and rack etc will be welcomed for a good night sleep.

Everything about this place was exceptional. This is definitely not the Airbnb era B&B run with key boxes and minimal facilities. The villa and its gardens are well maintained and there is so much authenticity in the place and its surroundings. The rooms were very comfortable. We stayed 3 days but we could have definitely stayed for a week. The staff very helpful and the breakfast was quite good. One other thing that stood out was their attention to detail in everything: be it the interior decoration, check in process or their breakfast arrangement.

Nothing.

Its a castle... for anyone like me who love castles, villas and chateaus this place is gonna feel like heaven. I absolutely recommend this place when you are in Tuscany, and or Florence. The gardens are like in Eden, the balcony is for pictures on instagram, the main room is like in some english mansion, and you feel like a noble. The enterance is like in the movies. Amaizing

The room were not so good, and didint contain a fridge, even though it says on booking that it has its own fridge, which is a bummer.

Beautiful large villa with exceptional history run by family. Loved the gardens and woods. Thoroughly enjoyed the on-site, home-style restaurant, “Elle-Bene” run by the owner’s daughters. Convenient for our daily tourist commutes to Florence. (We drove to the train station in Prato). Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We had a huge room in the tower. We enjoyed eating a hearty breakfast on the loggia or in the dining room every day. Parking was secure and on-site.

That we didn’t book a longer stay.

Staying here was a unique experience in itself. The villa and the family living there have a rich history, and they are very eager to share this place with you. We really enjoyed the breakfast, the decor of the common areas, the gardens, and the pleasant interactions we had with other guests. The villa has an on-site restaurant run by the family, and the dinner here was really a memorable experience.

The rooms could be outfitted with more modern amenities, such as air conditioning units and TVs. The pool was unavailable and quite messy.

Amazing palazzo, very old and very authentic making you dream of old times. Quite worn out but in the right Italian way! Familyrun and everybody was kind and super serviceminded. We enjoyed SO much the dinner in the Home restaurant, having dinner outside under the tree tops with lighting. On our evening there, the 4 course dinner was vegetarian and very very nice and fresh with all local ingredients and own wine. Next morning the breakfast was served with great coffee and everything else just nice.

Wifi was not good but looking at the location and the thick walls of the palazzo, it was to be expected.
