Our stay at Il Ritratto was absolutely wonderful! Guido, our B&B host was so welcoming and helpful. He advised us on all the things we could do locally, and further afield, and helped us with knowing what trains, ferries and buses to get. The room was spacious and airy and the bathroom was lovely, with a large overhead shower. It had a beday which was ideal for washing some clothes which then dried in no time on the balcony airer. The aircon was so welcome after a day out, and our little balcony overlooking the street down to the coast road was a lovely addition. The breakfast each day we were there (5 nights) was a selection of different local speciality pastries - different every day and such a treat! One night we decided to eat in with food from the local supermarket, and Guido set us up a table in the breakfast room before he left for the evening. There is a shared fridge and kitchen area where you can keep things cold, or get a hot drink as and when you like. Location-wise, Salerno is a lovely town, with both new and older quarters. We had some lovely meals out, and there are plenty of shops of all different types. The ferry ports are about 10 minutes walk, as is the station which has direct trains to Pompeii which is a fascinating day out. There is a ferry to Capri which is must if you are in the region, as well as Amalfi, and Ravello, which was probably our most favourite place to visit during our stay. All in all, it couldn't have been better, and we hope to visit again one day. Thank you Guido for making us so welcome.

Very safe and well accessible . So close to everything from high streets to the beach and train/ bus station. Easy access to Amalfi coast, Positano, Minori, Māori etc by bus, train or ferry . Easy to find and well maintained property. Guido is fantastic. He contacted us on WhatsApp before our trip to give us proper guidance to the property and the best way to reach the property. Excellent host. Guido messaged us on arrival to the airport to make sure that we board the correct bus. Guido was so helpful and sent us photos of the street and we found the bus easily. Stayed there 4 nights and Guido explained all the day trips we could do during our stay and the cheapest way and safest way around . Incredibly surprised by Guido’s kindest and help. Room was the cleanest I have ever stayed in and well equipped .Breakfast was amazing , enough to get you going. Can’t say enough about this place , we had a wonderful stay and we felt special . The shower is great with special features for relaxation after a long day. Would highly recommend this property. Thank you so much Guido. Salerno is so safe!

The accommodation is in a really good area, close to the ferry terminal, the train station and the historic center. The room itself was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. Furthermore, Guido, the host, actually made the whole experience an incredible one. His attention to detail and his recommendations were spot on! I highly encourage to follow his recommendations as they will make your experience even better!

Guido was the best host we ever had. He gave us great advice about touristic destinations and means of transport. The room was very nice and clean. We were served a variety of local traditional breakfasts and the location was excelent - about 5 minutes to the train station and 10 to the ferryboat.

Our Italy trip started in Rome and ended in Milan. We had several stops, one of which Salerno, and of all the stays B&B Il Ritratto in Salerno was the best! We were warmly met by Guido, who told us where we can eat, where to go and what to do. As for the room, it was so clean, spacious and cozy, and the daily cleaning was just as great. The private bathroom was clean and well-designed. The breakfast was also amazing, and as we left very early in the morning, Guido even put together a huge breakfast bag for us. In general, if you are on the Amalfi coast, you would better choose that B&B!

Everything was great

B&B Il Ritratto is the perfect place to stay in Salerno (or Amalfi coast if you ask us). It is located in the middle of Salerno with access to everything you need within 5-10 minutes of walking. Train station, harbour, old town, Main Street etc. The host is magnificent with knowledge he is eager to share, and is positive, calm and social. The pictures does not justify how it looks, (it is way beyond expectations) and you get options for breakfast from the host, allways fresh from the local store. We stayed for two nights, but we advise you to stay for three or more. We cannot praise Il Ritratto enough for its hospitality. If you want a 5 star hotel feeling in a B&B, look no further. This is a solid 10/10.

The location was fantastic, the room was spacious and clean, and the breakfast pastries were delicious. But the real star of this location is the host, Guido, whose tips and recommendations were invaluable. Unfortunately we were not able to visit the Amalfi coast due to weather, but Guido always had suggestions for backup plans.

Guido is quite possibly the best host we have had! He is very attentive and methodical. He gave us loads of recommendations for our trip and took a genuine interest in our stay. The breakfast was so good. He is just lovely. The room is spotlessly clean and a good location for the port and most other things. Also the shower is possibly the most powerful one we’ve ever used!

The noise from the neighbour upstairs (walking in shoes) and lack of soundproofing in rooms, but it didn’t detract from our stay.

Gave excellent suggestions for things to see in town. Very helpful in helping me get around town.
