Personally I found the property to be very well kept and maintained. The pool was the perfect size and enough sun loungers for all the guests ! The rooms were cleaned to a high standard and the building itself smells fresh ! I liked the older architecture on the outside it gives a brilliant charm to the building ! All the staff were very hospitable and friendly and always ready to help at any given opportunity !

The distance into central syracuse/Ortigia but this is really no problem at all and let’s you explore a little bit more than you normally would say you was centrally located.

Staff was very helpful and always polite & friendly. The breakfast has everything you need to start your day, a lot of pastries together with a healthy mix of fruit, yoghurt, cereal and bread. The room was spacious and had all the amenities possible. Very clean too! The pool and the outdoor area were fantastic, especially when it gets dark. One should definitely eat dinner at the hotel at least once - very romantic.

For us, a missed opportunity was to make use of the huge garden. Some benches or some other attraction next to and to the side of the garden would've made the place much more enjoyable. But nonetheless - very positive! On another note, it would've been great if the staff could enforce their rules better against noise from certain rooms.

Staff wasn’t very friendly. Plus the pool area is small and not enough sun beds for the guests. When we arrived (earlier than check in time) they didnt want to let us in the pool area since we were early as they said pool area is full but it wasn’t full at all. It was extremely hot and nowhere to go in the vicinity. Also breakfast needs upgrade and when food and drinks finish they do not replace. They are very short staffed and we were also charged for drinks we didnt take but only realized after we left so we ended up paying them!

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, lots of choice. Eat in on 2 nights and good standard of food also, dining room a bit sterile though. The garden area and the stunning trees were beautiful, the pool area was lovely, pool was cleaned daily and area was spotless.

The hotel is a lovely oasis in a fairly drab area, but we approached it from an industrial area and I was a bit concerned about the area as at night looked a bit rough. In fairness, the hotel is like a little oasis of calm in an ok area, but not much around it, in terms of nice restaurants, bars etc. We got a taxi onto the island twice which reception organised and not expensive which was a bonus.

Restaurant service is simply perfect. All the personnel is very kind, special thanks to Aicha, who is very attentive and always delivering a perfect service, making the dinner very enjoyable! Also to note, it is quite lovely to have breakfast outside with the beautiful view to the garden.

The rooms are large and clean. Astonishing garden like an oase within the City. Perfect. Personel was friendly, especially our waiter during dinner and breakfast. All expected good quality for a quality hotel. Pictures of the rooms are indeed matching with the location. Enjoyed the complete stay.

Made some rounds arround the hotel until i found that the "old gate" is actually the main entrance. Not negative, but probabbly a preinfo would be nice to have. Afterwards all was fine usind the given card to access the facility.

Everything was perfect. One of the best hotel experiences that I have had and I travel a lot with work. I particularly enjoyed the fine touches of ' art not decoration"' everywhere you looked mostly of a Christian orientation too. For my 60th birthday four days ago , I decide to travel to England and buy myself a 'new' classic car to add to my collection. A Morgan 4/4 and travel overland back to Malta with it. Other hotels along the journey were usual and drab. Yours was the perfect setting to create a beautiful atmosphere for both the enjoyment of the car and the journey itself... Like a hand and glove fitting!

I found the food for dinner ( not breakfast) of very small portions compared to the price paid . Otherwise delicious.

Breakfast was typically Italian with many sweet cakes, etc. Nice selection of fresh fruit, etc. Compared to a recent stay on Mallorca the fruit juices left a bit to be desired. Dinner menu, though limited in choice proved to be delicious and flexible enough to prepare pasta and sauce just as our daughter likes it! The staff was very friendly, helpful and attentive to a degree that was comfortable and not overbearing. The private park within which the hotel finds itself is a true oasis and calm in what otherwise might be a bit noisy area of the city. The size of the rooms were generous, as were the baths.

The rooms we had, 204 & 205 were a bit dated and could use some modernizing, including showers in lieu of spa tubs.

Overall, the hotel has an old leisurely resort hotel feel to it. We went in a very quiet off season but when it was full with other guests it felt lively - I'm sure the poolside would be especially wonderful in the summer. Staff were attentive and able to troubleshoot any problems we ran into or requests we had. It feels a bit dated in terms of its decor, but nothing is broken or worn out.

Because the room's electricity is activated by key card the mini bar is not able to get up to and maintain a temperature to chill drinks or food. The light at the doorway of the room also only activates when the door is open or the card is put in and only stays on for about a minute. This makes it hard to organize the wardrobe or get dressed with light. You'll definitely need a car if you're hoping to stay here and explore any part of Syracusa/Ortigia but the parking situation is incredibly tight.

While the location was not directly in Syracuse, it was convenient and was easy to park in the grounds. The grounds were lovely and we were able to sit outside near the pool in the evening and have a snack and some wine. My room was spacious and has a nice view of the pool and the grounds. The lobby decour is a bit dated, but sort of quaint. We had a higher level room with a beautiful bathroom, but no shower.

There were several tour groups which made the place seem a bit institutional. I think it is convenient for them as it is large enough to accommodate and the parking is not an issue.
