My wife and I just spent 7 nights in a very good 1-bedroom apartment own by Susy. The apartment is fully furnished. Kitchen is fully equipped with microwave and dishwasher. The supermarket is in the next building, so cooking is possible whenever needed, wanted. The apartment’s location could not be better in Stresa – right in the center, with less than 1 minute walking to many good restaurants and 2 minutes walking to the lake front. Our apartment was on the second floor (zero is the street level). On the first floor there is a terrace with jacuzzi and BBQ grill, that is used by people from these apartments (I think, all apartments own by Susy). Susy is a super host: always walking around, providing advice on what to see and asking for any help.

The excellent reviews you see are accurate. The host is delightful, the apartment is recently modernized, the location and the Carrefour supermarket (downstairs) are great. Our group of four liked Stresa much more than we had expected. Recommended: the Villa Taranto Gardens (we liked better than gardens at Lake Como), Isola Bella, food in Stresa restaurants. If you have a car, one nice day trip is to Mount Mottarone for views, walk around ancient Miasino, eat at Taverna Antico Agnello, explore Orta San Giulio (Google maps shows the hiking trail on the north side of peninsula). We had another awesome day trip to Macugnaga. We took the lift up and hiked to Rifugio Zamboni Zappa. Check out the Walser houses on the side streets of Staffa.

Amazing location: 4 minutes from the ferry terminal, in the centre of town and directly above a Carrefour supermarket. Susie (the host) was really friendly and full of great recommendations for things to do. The room was clean and spacious - and we were given a free bottle of Prosecco for our first evening! We were also given a 10% Carrefour discount card, a map and ferry timetables.

The balcony looked onto the courtyard of a seemingly private residence so the view wasn’t great (FYI we booked a Studio Apartment). It was also rather dark in the room. It was good to have a TV but the only TV socket was located on one side of the bed, so we couldn’t move the TV and had an awkward angle for watching.

Our stay at Casa Diverio in Stresa was a a very pleasant experience. Our one-bedroom apartment was spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped for occasional self-catering. It also had access to a private terrace with outdoor furniture which allowed us to soak up the sunshine. The property has a lift which makes access to the upper floors straightforward. It’s location in the old part of Stresa, with a good supermarket next door and many cafes, restaurants and shops nearby made everything very easy. The lakeshore and access to ferries is about 300 metres. We were able to access the property directly by car to drop off and pick up luggage and we found parking within 100 metres without charge (the train station is about 500 metres away). Owner Suzy was a a good communicator and offered us many suggestions about things to do and places to eat.

Everything was very satisfactory

Everything, including the time our host Susy spent with us when we first arrived. She gave us great recommendations for the local attractions and bars/restaurants (we had 9 wonderful days there). The location is superb, right in the heart of Stresa, and the apartment had everything we wanted, including a very comfortable, large bed. Susy could not have been more helpful. We stayed in apartments in Rome, Verona, Milan and Stresa on our Italian holiday - Casa Diverio was easily the best of them all.

The apartment was clean, comfortable, safe and you really can’t beat the location. We came by train and it was an easy 10 minute walk from the station. It’s very close to the Piazza, where you can get dinner and finish it off wth an ice cream. There’s also a supermarket downstairs which is connected to the property and being a guest means you get 10% off. If you need to do laundry there is a laundry Matt 30 meters away. We found all this very handy. The ferry terminal is a nice also easy walk where you can buy tickets to visit other towns. Next to the ferry terminal is another ticket box where you can buy tickets to the Borromean islands Madre, Bella and Pescatore (Also known as Superiore). The cost is $15 euro person per adult and for two of the islands you need to pay to see the gardens and castle. The cost to see both is $36 euro but you really need to see them as they are amazing. I highly recommend this apartment as you will not be disappointed. Thankyou to Suzi our host.

Liked everything

We like the fact that Casa Diverio is modern, clean and conformable. It has all the facilities needed if you wanted to stay in to cook at meal. It is very well located right in the centre of Stresa and is walking distance from the railway station. Susy was very welcoming and gave us lots of information about restaurants and things to do. This was our second stay at Casa Diverio and we would certainly plan to stay again if we come back to Stresa.

Only a minor thing, but we found the pillows slightly uncomfortable on the final night. This did not impact the quality of our sleep.

Hospitality at its best. Your hostess is amazing; helpful with recommendations for the town and area, an absolute professional, prompt with communication and so friendly and upbeat. The studio is spacious, modern and super comfortable in all areas. Lovely furnishings and decor. The location is in the heart of town, stepping directly out into the atmospheric cobblestoned streets with shops, eateries, bars and a supermarket right next door. Just a very short less than 5 minute walk and you're lakeside along with being at the public ferry dock. Wonderful!

When we unexpectedly got stranded in Domodossola due to flooding and a train cancellation, Suzy went above and beyond to help us work out a way to get to stresa. She was incredibly supportive during a stressful time, even offering to come and pick us up if needed. Once we arrived, the apartment was lovely—clean, comfortable, and fully equipped with everything we needed. There was even a shop next door where we received a discount from Suzy as well as great recommendations for restaurants and local attractions. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Highly recommended!

Beautiful apartment, perfectly located, absolutely loved it as we were on our first back packing holiday and we took advantage of eating in the apartment at our choice though there were fabulous restaurants within 5 minutes. Would recommend and definitely stay there again. Also had the benefit of a supermarket below us and a 10 percent discount card. Visited the immediate islands which were fab.

Just a suggestion, would benefit from coasters and table mats to protect the lovely table as we chose to eat in as Stresa was part of a 17 day trip for us and so didn't want to eat out every night.
