Stresa gave us the relaxing refresh we needed after a 20 hour flight to Italy. The hotel was an important part. Friendly, helpful and personable staff. Included breakfast was standard continental with good variety. it was quiet when we stayed which helped a lot. pretty setting with bird sounds as spring. short walk to the town centre for meals and seaside. would stay again.

only downsides were the loose, rounded pebble forecourt typical of places in the area which made it difficult getting our heavy luggage to reception. only stairs to reception and to rooms on 1st and 2nd floors. no elevator. staff helped to store and take up bags. ate once at the in house restaurant. simple home style meals. not a lot of choice but fitted us in at last minute and food filling and tasty.

Very good location close to the train station and the lake. Small room but very clean, clean bed linen and towels. , hot water. Although it was cold outside, the radiators in the room were hot...so we felt very good. Very kind and helpful staff.. they stored our luggage for a few hours while we walked around the city. They also have a living room next to the reception with very comfortable sofas...if you need to stay longer. Breakfast...open buffet...varied, fresh and very good food. For smokers a terrace with chairs and tables...right next to the dining room. They opened the terrace especially for us...there were no other smokers. That's why I say it again...very kind staff. I recommend it to everyone! Reception open 24/7. Initially I reserved an apartment with a lake view but they required me to arrive no later than 7pm. Congratulations and thank you very much!

Lovely family run hotel with a personal touch within easy access of town and station. The room was clean and comfortable with a balcony looking over the side of the hotel. Breakfast had a wide range of foods and catered for all our needs. There was a large garden at the back which could also be used by guests.

Everything was great - just a little odd that there was a full length mirror in the wardrobe that couldn't be used as there was an item of furniture preventing the door from opening fully.

First, we explored this hotel's descriptions and reviews and learned almost everything about it. The hotel is a bit far from the seaside and you have to go up when you come to it. But for healthy people, walking takes only 10 minutes from the center to the hotel. Facilities, quiet location, hospitality, quality of service, free parking, tasty breakfast, back yard for relaxing sitting, and many other features for this price completely make up! 100% recommendation!

Many people write about the rude character of the senior owner, but it compensates for the friendliness and courtesy of other staff. We met him a couple of times, so this is not a big deal for us.

Situated in walking distance to the waterfront, Hotel Villa Mon Toc provided free parking. As we arrived we were greeted warmly and shown to our room. The entire hotel is immaculately clean and maintained. Such friendly service throughout the property. The breakfast buffet was excellently run with exceptional efficiency by the lovely lady in charge of that breakfast room. (If she was not attending to guests, she was constantly tidying up the room. It was amazingly clean.) I would never pay the price of the resort hotels down on the waterfront when this hotel was so easily accessible just with a short walk to the center of town and waterfront. Perfect for our budget.

Spotlessly clean throughout the building, the room was comfortable and perfect for my needs, the staff I dealt with were friendly and helpful, the buffet breakfast was great. The hotel is situated in a quiet residential area a few minutes walk from the train station, the lake and centre of town are an easy ten minutes walk away. If you are looking for a peaceful few days at the lake I would highly recommend staying here.

The hotel has old world charm. While you could see that something’s were worn, it did not distract from how comfortable you felt there. We came for a wedding and it was very close to the train station and about 8 blocks from the wedding venue and water front. Everyone that worked there was extremely gracious. I was glad that my sons came to help with the luggage as we were on the 3rd floor and after a day of lugging it around, it was very heavy and there are no elevators in the older buildings.

The showers are very tiny and the pillows were too hard for me, but other than that, we had no real complaints.

Excellent welcoming staff they were always available for advice. I had a superb experience and hotel is very close to all the attractions of Stresa. As a cyclist the breakfast was outstanding with plenty of choice of foods and drinks, endless coffee. I cannot speak highly enough of the cleanliness and space in rooms and overall value for money for this hotel. I would not stay anywhere else in Stresa.

There was nothing to not like about this very friendly family run hotel. I would definitely book to stay here again

Very clean everywhere and room serviced every day Pleasant well tended garden Outstanding choice of seeds and nuts for breakfast The balcony really made the room. Very convenient for the railway station and close to the centre of town.

Bathroom a little on the small side as it includes a bidet.

Room was spacious and warm with extra blankets. Breakfast was standard and adequate. Location was stunning, a 10 minute walk from the main road and lake. Plenty of restaurants and grocery stores nearby.

Gluten-free breakfast option would have been appreciated.
