The lake view room with balcony was brilliant. The breakfast was the same for tour groups and individual guests but OK. The a la carte evening meal was therefore a very pleasant surprise, I wish we had eaten in earlier in our stay. You need to know that 5% service charge will be added to the whole bill for your stay,; awkward if you have tipped staff directly. It is easy to miss as it isn't shown at the end as is usual and your attention will not be drawn to it, although if you do notice it you will be given the option of a revised bill.

Spacious rooms friendly polite staff and wonderful buffet breakfast except on two mornings where the hot food was finished at 9.45 otherwise it was awesome

I think comfy pillow and fresh linens could be upgraded along with supplying fluffy new towels and quality robes and slippers… room service til 12pm would be great especially on weekends and welcome drinks on arrival. Umbrellas should be supplied for a rainy day, and I feel the hotel could offer lovely scented shower gel and lotion dispensers and quality shampoo conditioner… cotton buds and face cleansing pads would be great.

What a wonderful “old style” hotel. We had stayed here a few years ago and wondered if maybe it would have faded a little in the intervening years, we need not have worried. It was equally as good if not better than we remembered. All of the staff we met were incredibly helpful, welcoming and in plenty of numbers, it is so nice to visit a hotel where there isn’t a sense of staff cutbacks. The restaurant waiting staff were excellent at breakfast (which was also outstanding for choice and quality), attentive and friendly. One of the team not only made a great and genuine fuss of our dog, but we also watched him entertain some young children at a nearby table by doing magic tricks, never seen that before at a hotel. The hotel staff were very dog friendly. We saw no signs of a tired hotel, the decor was first rate and the gardens were being regularly maintained throughout the day. Our room on the second floor had an amazing view of the lake, was a very good size, immaculately clean and very well appointed. The pool area was immaculate and the bar staff as helpful as all of the other team members.

Only a couple of things could be slightly improved It would have been nice to have had coffee making facilities in the room and the pizzas we had at the poolside were ok but could have been better.

Our stay at this hotel was above and beyond our expectations. The location was absolutely perfect—convenient and picturesque. The pool was a highlight: beautifully designed, with a luxurious rococo charm that made it feel like a dream. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Location was walking distance to everything. Staff was very professional and kind. We will definitely make this an annual stay.

If anything, I would have liked the pool to remain open longer, but not a big deal.

The breakfast buffet was amazing. Make sure you get there at least 30 minutes before 10am because they shut down immediately at 10am.

The hotel was old and needs a freshner- it had a stale smell.

The location is great - beautiful views of the water and within walking distance to everything. Our rooms (junior suites with lake views) were large with amazing balconies (2!) and views. We had a 3 bed room for the children and it was perfect - 3 separate twin beds and large enough to work.

Just as a warning - the rooms only had one European outlet - otherwise they were the older Italian outlets that we were not expecting. They might have a solution (adapter) for this if you ask the front desk - we didn't, so I am not sure. One thing I was nervous about (which was a non-issue) were the tourist groups coming in. The downstairs can definitely accommodate tour groups or conferences, but it didn't take away from our experience and all of the positives definitely outweighed the rest.

Very good value hotel. Very well managed and organized. Facilities are great with an indoor lap pool and an outdoor pool. The team was kind and helpful

Dinner was shockingly bad. I mean really bad. Breakfast was fine. Eat dinner elsewhere.

Could have had water replenished on subsequent days stays, and a shame that breakfast wasn’t included & was quite pricy to add on.

Beautiful old hotel. Nice restaurant, although then menu never changed during our stay. Lovely pool area. Secure car parking.

The restaurant menu stayed the same all week, and was not particularly varied. There was secure car parking but it was expensive. Our room was quite narrow. The two single beds were the pull down type. Navigating around them had to be carefully done as it was all too easy to catch your leg on the sharp corner of the bed.

Location is just perfect. Close to boat harbor and directly on Stresa city promenade. Old town and restaurants in walking distance. You can find even free parking next to the hotel on main street. Breakfast very good and with the best view on the lake ever seen! Swimming pool and sunbathing area well maintained.

Our room type was a bit lower categories than we had hoped to find it in this kind of hotel. No minibar, TV was switched off, but those were minor issues.
