The lake view room with balcony was brilliant. The breakfast was the same for tour groups and individual guests but OK. The a la carte evening meal was therefore a very pleasant surprise, I wish we had eaten in earlier in our stay. You need to know that 5% service charge will be added to the whole bill for your stay,; awkward if you have tipped staff directly. It is easy to miss as it isn't shown at the end as is usual and your attention will not be drawn to it, although if you do notice it you will be given the option of a revised bill.

The room was very large and contained not just the usual single easy chair but also a sofa. Two balconies - although we only used them for drying our cossies. Eating breakfast at the front facing the lake - what a way to start the day! We hadn't expected to make much use of the outside pool area but ended up settling there for much of the day. No problem with loungers whatsoever and finding adequate shade was not a problem under the spreading beech tree. This must be the most attractive pool area of all the hotels along the shore. We even made a couple of trips in the horizontal 'lift' leading to the indoor pool. All the staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful.

It was very lacking in electrical outlets until we found one behind the sofa on the last day. The shower was very small - 64cm X 64cm. I'm sure some people would have difficulty getting in through the corner doors.

The hotel was fantastic with our dog. And he could join almost everywhere. Very welcoming staff. The seaview balcony is fantastic, the view from the room is out of the world, and we enjoyed several good wines and moments on it. Want to highlight the service mindness of the receptionists. Both for giving our dog a gift and for the great upgrade to a sea view room.

The value for money is so and so, but it is Stresa. The restaurant need to increase quality or lower the price. I felt that the restaurant options in stresa gave more "heart" and to a significant lesser cost than the hotel restaurant. I did not like that the 5% service charge was added to bill automaticly, as you feel obligated to "accept" it. (This US practice is not necessary in Italy or Europe for that matter)

We really enjoyed our stay here, but it was too short! We loved the room, it was perfectly set up for our family of four and our dog. Everything was prepared nicely for us including a water bowl for our dog. The shower was great, the beds were very comfortable, it was really nice. The breakfast was also really great, and we had great service from Jimmy. The pool area was really nice and there was evening entertainment in the bar. Perfect location overlooking the Lago Maggiore and a short walk along the lakeside to restaurants and shops.

Spacious rooms friendly polite staff and wonderful buffet breakfast except on two mornings where the hot food was finished at 9.45 otherwise it was awesome

I think comfy pillow and fresh linens could be upgraded along with supplying fluffy new towels and quality robes and slippers… room service til 12pm would be great especially on weekends and welcome drinks on arrival. Umbrellas should be supplied for a rainy day, and I feel the hotel could offer lovely scented shower gel and lotion dispensers and quality shampoo conditioner… cotton buds and face cleansing pads would be great.

What a wonderful “old style” hotel. We had stayed here a few years ago and wondered if maybe it would have faded a little in the intervening years, we need not have worried. It was equally as good if not better than we remembered. All of the staff we met were incredibly helpful, welcoming and in plenty of numbers, it is so nice to visit a hotel where there isn’t a sense of staff cutbacks. The restaurant waiting staff were excellent at breakfast (which was also outstanding for choice and quality), attentive and friendly. One of the team not only made a great and genuine fuss of our dog, but we also watched him entertain some young children at a nearby table by doing magic tricks, never seen that before at a hotel. The hotel staff were very dog friendly. We saw no signs of a tired hotel, the decor was first rate and the gardens were being regularly maintained throughout the day. Our room on the second floor had an amazing view of the lake, was a very good size, immaculately clean and very well appointed. The pool area was immaculate and the bar staff as helpful as all of the other team members.

Only a couple of things could be slightly improved It would have been nice to have had coffee making facilities in the room and the pizzas we had at the poolside were ok but could have been better.

The hotel is very beautiful and stylish. The pool area is ample and very well cared for. Amazing flowers and green area.

The room wasn't properly cleaned, used glasses were left in room and on balcony. There were dirty footprints on the floor. The reception staff are always chit chatting amongst themselves whilst serving or checking in or out. It was my birthday on our check out day and despite having copies of our ID's it was ignored. A shame for a 4* hotel.

Everything was fantastic—nothing to dislike! My only wish is that the hotel had a spa to make the experience even more perfect.

Our stay at this hotel was above and beyond our expectations. The location was absolutely perfect—convenient and picturesque. The pool was a highlight: beautifully designed, with a luxurious rococo charm that made it feel like a dream. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Location was walking distance to everything. Staff was very professional and kind. We will definitely make this an annual stay.

If anything, I would have liked the pool to remain open longer, but not a big deal.
