The value provided for the price paid was immense! What I was most pleased with were the hospitality and friendliness of the host, Daniel. He was very welcoming and always willing to help me with restaurant recommendations, providing a charging adapter, and just generally accommodating any reasonable request. Also, it's important to note that the hotel and the room itself were spotlessly clean! I would definitely visit La Locanda again if I'm ever in Lago Maggiore in the future.

There wasn't anything I didn't like, it was just perfect! But if there's something to point out it would be that the hotel itself is quite dated (I personally liked this as it gave a unique and somewhat traditional vibe but I understand it might not be for everyone). For example, the walls are quite thin and can be irritating if you have noisy neighbours.

We had wonderful 6 nights at La Locanda and loved everything about it. Where shall I start? The staff that will go an extra mile to help you out, the location in a quiet, green, shady street yet close to the port, the station and the lake promenade, the best (and cheapest) coffee in town, a large terrace with a view of the mountains, 3 nice local restaurants in the neighbourhood... The rooms were cleaned every day. The Alpine-style breakfast and reception area were really charming. The breakfast was good in quality and quantity, though I missed eggs for a week. :-)

Sadly the shower was rather small and the pillows were as hard as stone.

Wonderful cosy hotel !! So clean you could eat in the floor ! Rooms are modest but have everything you need inside and the breakfast is good (delicious Cappuccino!)Personnel is discreet, very nice and efficient, they will give you good recommendations, the location is not too far from the city center, the dock to the islands and the train station, all that for a very good price !

The personnel was very nice and friendly. The breakfast was very good (especially the warm croissants). Our room was super clean. I liked the location, close to the lake, where you can walk along admiring beautiful views and reach the center of Stresa in slightly more than 10 minutes. If you arrive by train, the railway station is a few minutes from the hotel.

Everything was perfect.

The hotel and its room was very clean and simply decorated. It was a stroll away from the lake and other amenities. We had a peaceful nights sleep and we loved having a balcony to sit on. Our motorcycle didn’t start the next morning and Daniel was there to help us on our way with jump leads! Thank you Daniel.

I would have preferred a coffee maker in the room. Otherwise, for the price it was excellent value for money.

5 minutes from the lake and only 10 minutes from Lido. 10 minutes from the Railway Station, a fantastic location for my Friend's apartment. Staff friendly. Breakfast continental with great coffee for a machine-supplied. I left my Kindle in the room, and I got a WhatsApp with a photo within 12 minutes informing me we had left it behind.. A small thing, as you are coming to the last sheet, no extra loo roll. Nothing enjoyed our stay.

Our room, the variety of food for breakfast, the helpfulness of the staff,and the closeness to the panoramic walk by the lake.

The distance from the centre of Stresa from where most of the ferries left.(Some of our group had difficulties walking long distances.) However, the staff arranged taxis for us, which was very helpful

A delightful, low key hotel based on the outskirts of Stressa. About 15-20 minute walk along the very pretty promenade to the heart of town and boat piers. Close enough to Stressa train station to walk if you are arriving that way. We had a car and parked at the hotel for a daily fee. I stayed here for a long weekend in September with my wife. We were given a first floor apartment which had a private bathroom /shower and a lovely balcony that partially overlooked the Motterone hillside. The room was spotlessly clean, made up every day, comfy large bed, shower was always hot, free WIFI, TV (Not used). No air conditioning but a fan was provided. Buffet breakfast was fine. Staff were friendly and helpful. It will be my first choice again when next visiting.

Nothing really, lovely Hotel at a very reasonable price.

The personnel was very nice and friendly and the breakfast was good with a big, warm croissaint and buns, cheese, juice etc. from the buffet. It was located near the port where you can take a boat to the Borromean islands and from the port there is a nice walk by the lake to the center of Stresa for about 20 minutes.

I liked everything.

The staff were welcoming, pleasant and had great suggestions for local activities. They went out of their way to make our family of 6 comfortable. Very clean, great location and great price! Highly recommended by us all.
