Our host, Agostino’s middle name is “hospitality!” We had an excellent two day stay. After booking our reservation, Agostino sent me a video welcoming us. He and Simona made our stay wonderful. Agostino was a great resource ahead of, and during, our stay. Located in the heart of Trapani, but secured behind heavy electronic gates, this is THE place to stay in western Sicily! If you like attention to every detail - there is no better place to stay! Thank you, Agostino!!!

There was nothing not to like!

Beautiful breakfast served in simple Sicilian surroundings in the ground floor. Alessandro was a calm and helpful attendant to us over breakfast and sent us home with beautiful packed breakfast as we had to leave early. Great for car parking, and using as a base for Beach trips to scopello (45 mins drive), Erice (15 min walk to cable car). Town in Trapani is about 35 min walk and Trapani beaches the same - so fine for us as we like to walk but maybe a bit far for some. Can get Ubers/taxis.

This was exactly what we wanted from our stay on this side of Sicily.

It was a wonderful oasis in the city. The B&B was a converted elegant home with impeccable furnishings and classic style. There is a garden with outside seating and a pool, all within the city. The parking was gated. The location was great for walking around and exploring Trapani. The breakfast was fresh, tasty, with fresh pastries and eggs made to order. Our host was helpful, accessible and responsive. He gave us great recommendations for restaurants and for shopping for ceramics. We stayed for two nights and wished we could have stayed longer.

Nothing. It was perfect

This was a gem of a hotel surrounded by a pleasant manicured garden and with a beautiful pool. The rooms were spacious, some even with walk-in wardrobes. One room had its own private terrace. The breakfast was a feast of Sicilian goodies , from brioche and crusty rolls, to home-made yoghurt, to fresh fruit (including prickly pears!) and one could also ask for freshly made bacon and eggs. Agostino and Alessandro went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. It truly felt like our own private getaway villa.

Everything was fine! Just a little practical note that there is no lift to go to the upper floors as Agostino wants to preserve the authenticity of this beautiful ancestral villa. However the steps are easy to manage, even by a person slightly advanced in age.

The house was a step back in time. An historic building with beautiful gardens. Agostino and his staff were extremely polite and helpful. He provided us with free guides for the area and lots of recommendations including restaurants. The accommodation is a gated building with private car parking, so very secure. It's a15 minute drive from the historic centre of Trapani and 20 minutes from Erice.

Nothing!

An absolute gem - tucked away in the quiet residential outskirts of Trapani. Only six bedrooms, beautifully clean and airy, amazing staff who could not do enough for you. Great breakfast, lovely little swimming pool.

The only ( slight) drawback is the distance to the old town where most of the restaurants and the port are. Not a problem for us as we had a car ( there is free parking) but other guests tended to use taxis.

We loved every part of our stay and could not recommend Giardini Mon Plaisir enough. Firstly, the house and the grounds are beautiful, stylish and functional, with all the facilities we needed for a week's stay. The pool was a lovely addition. What made our stay were the staff and host. Everyone was excellent and attentive to our every need. Thank you everyone for a wonderful stay!

Everything on site was superb. All staff and the owner could not be more helpful. Garden and pool were lovely. The villa and bedroom were lovely and airy. The ambience was most restful. There were only about 6 rooms total. Breakfast was a delight with great choice and a hot choice was cooked especially for you. Car parking was on site and behind automatic gates. A couple of good restaurants within 15 mins walk. Communication with property was most prompt and informative. Room size seemed much larger than 17m2 quoted, more like 25m2.

VFM was on the pricey side

For the discerning traveller who truly appreciates the good things in life, their finer details and values genuine kindness and generous hospitality ….. I knew from the very first virtual contact with Agostino that we had connected with a hard working and dedicated host. It was obvious from the outset how important it was to him that our experience of Trapani and our stay at the Villa Giardini Mon Plaisir was as fulfilling and positive as it could be in the short time we had. And that was an accurate foretaste! A vital aspect to us was that we could park onsite safely and securely. When we first drove through the electric gates onto the crunchy gravel driveway, we were enthralled by the beauty of the garden. The pleasures continued evolving before our eyes once we were met by Alessandro and were ushered into the Villa. Every detail has been carefully considered and attended to. Extra surprise touches made us feel like we were valued and appreciated guests, like when Alessandro produced a tray with glasses of fresh lemonade with mint, a Sicilian recipe, made with ingredients from the garden. Our room was the size of an apartment with a sitting room and a gorgeous bathroom with a good sized shower and important features such as a makeup mirror! Everything exudes „quality“ and style and expert craftsmanship. Someone with an eye trained for pure perfection was responsible for the transformation of the Villa into a hotel. We later learned that Agostino is an architect. The breakfasts - well, they deserve an essay of their own! They are like private sumptuous smorgasbords, feasts for all the senses that equip the mind and body for hard days of holiday making.

The building and grounds are an oasis. The public rooms are comfortable and the outdoor space by the pool is enjoyable. Breakfasts were great and Alessandro couldn’t have been more accommodating to our food requests. The tram to Erice is walkable from the property. The free, secure parking is also a plus.

The property is pretty far from the old town of Trapani. It’s a long walk there and back, and driving/parking in old Trapani is challenging. The room was rather spartan. It felt a little like a college dorm room. The property is surrounded by tall apartment buildings.
