I stayed in this place long time ago when it was the sands, I told myself I would never stay here again, but like life we gave it a second changes with the new makeup of the hotel know as the J resort. The best part of this resort is the parking garage, I can go direct from my room and catch the elevator to the garage, don't have to walk the lobby like other hotel. Hanna's restaurant food was good, just need more training with the waitress to concentrate on the customer.

We stayed in the family suite room 1578, the bathroom fan did not work, also the double door to access the living room, should be only one door whit both side could open not lock, got lock out when one door closed behind me, the security did a great job to open the door.

Room was very clean and employees I spoke to were extremely nice and personable. Parking was easy. Unlike lots of other hotel rooms, figuring out how to get hot water in the shower was very easy.

Using the check in and check out kiosk probably took a lot more time than just going directly to a receptionist. I couldn't check in around 3:30 using the kiosk because it said my room wasn't ready. I had to go to the receptionist and he found me a room. Then when I checked out I wasn't sure what to do with the keycards so I had to go to the receptionist, who thanked me and took them. What's the point of the kiosks if you have to talk to a receptionist afterwards? I had this same problem with kiosks in Las Vegas. There was an intermittent rattling sound in the room that made it hard to sleep without earplugs. It may have been coming from the air conditioning unit. I learned long ago to always carry earplugs when I'm at a hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay at J resort and it exceeded our expectations. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and stylish. The gaming was fun too. I was impressed also that they had people outside picking up trash around the periphery and in their lot across the street. This is a well run establishment. My husband and I live near Laughlin NV and gamble quite a bit in Laughlin and Las Vegas. My husband worked at a casino in Laughlin for years and I worked at a casino near San Diego for a long time. So this review comes from the view as a customer and former employees of the industry. Great job J Resort! So many casinos now are lacking care and customer service but not this place. We will be back for sure!!

How clean it is

The was nice but you need a light over the kitchen sink area. Also it would be nice to have some towels for the kitchen because you have to use the bathroom ones which could ruin them. I know there’s no stove but we can reheat things and coffee pots run over and things like that you know you spilled things if you want to use the white bathroom towels that’s what we have to use because you do not provide any. We don’t even have paper towels. I do think that you guys need to provide something like that or let us know in advance so we can bring our own as the website says nothing about any of that no dishes no civil wear nothing but yet it has spaces for it.

J Resort is located in a great part of Downtown Reno. Location is perfect for walking around. The rooms are nice and big and we enjoyed the kitchenette and large balcony!! Casino is very modern, a good size. They are the only Casino I have found that has the Crazy Money slot machine!! It also has a great steakhouse and the ONLY Buffet in Reno. They offer free parking (garage & outdoor) and have a outdoor pool & spa. Pool was enjoyable with plenty of chairs, tables and umbrellas! Pool Area Suggestion: Turn the music up a bit and add an Ice Machine!! Overall, we enjoyed the J over the other hotels we have stayed at in Reno. The hotel's exceptional service and comfortable amenities made for a truly enjoyable stay. We definitely will book again the next time we're in town!

Pillows Suggestion: Make-up wipes in room (I usually bring my own, but forgot this time)

Location was perfect as we had a surgery scheduled for the next day that was only two blocks away. Room was very large and newly remodeled with microwave and full size refrigerator. Hanna's Cafe on the premises had good food and super friendly staff. Good value compared to other stays in Reno.

Hot water took 15 minutes to reach the shower Although the casino was deserted it still reeked of stale tobacco

The Art and hotel are nice and feel like great effort went into it. The comfortable beds. Clean rooms. Well stocked items for toiletries. The layout was easy to navigate for a hotel.

The price is a bit overdone, the kiosk for self check in was non operational. Having to use my own cast to TV option wasnt convenient for me. The website lacks directions as to pool (hours for pool?) or other facilities and the staff doesn't inform you upon check in.

Location to downtown and price for rooms cannot be beat.

There is not a card/ table dealer at all times.

I loved my stay at J Resort. Lots of positives all along -location. Very close to the river and nice walking area and restaurants -staff. Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. Especially the maintenance, valet and housekeeping staff -Hannah’s Table restaurant was great and food was delicious -complimentary hotel shuttle -rooms: comfortable, spacious, clean (I stayed at Birch Tower) Great value. I will definitely recommend. I stayed here for 8 nights and it felt like home for a bit. Pool area is very nice and quiet too. Thank you

Accommodations at the hotel were excellent. The room was very clean and beds were comfortable. Parking was very accessible and close to the downtown hotels for an easy walk.

The shower water pressure could use some improvement but not a major issue. The room was a little dim and not great lighting options except in the bathroom. when arriving the a/c was off and it was very warm in the room and took a while to cool down.
