Very modern decor and finishes in room and incredibly helpful concierge service led by Mr Mukherjee who helped arrange/coordinate all of our transport (to/from airport and in town to Salt Lake for family wedding), best breakfast buffet/food options and most comfortable bed of all 5 hotels we stayed in India during this trip. Also loved the Newtown location as walkable to Spencer's in mall next door for bottled water/other random needs, ATM though 2 in area didn't work on 2nd time we needed them, and a great hand crafts fair/Mela that happened to be in town during our stay.

This is my 2nd visit to Novotel Kolkata for my work. The Staycations provide me the opportunity to complete a lot of my pending backlog while I can relax at the beautiful hotel. I especially love the Executive Lounge where I can spend the days finishing my works in leisure and peace.

The swimming pool was closed and I really wish it opens soon. Its summers already and a refreshing dip after a day of work is really helpful. The complimentary cocktails are currently served within the common bar. I think this should be done within the Executive Lounge to maintain the calmness.

Breakfast spread was good. The room was very clean and staff incharge for the room (I forgot the name) cleaned the room spotless. I like the addition of sugar and gluten free muffins in the menu. Excellent facilities in the room and in the hotel, the view from the room was good.

The Indian options in the buffet could have tasted better for instance, the paratha was very hard and tough to chew. The staff response was a bit slower than usual that is understandable due to more group of people trying to check-in and dine together. Overall, I only felt like the staff service could have been better but, I am very much satisfied with everything else.

From the moment when we entered the hotel it feels like a little piece of heaven in Kolkata. I really appreciate the attention the detail that the Front office team puts in while taking the check-in, and understands the purpose of our visit and give rooms as per our preferences. Specially thanks to Avirup Ghosh for made my stay more comfortable. He called me in advance to find out my preferences and helped me to get it also. Otherwise, Kudos to the all staffs & the management for a top-notch business stay experience.

Lobby Ambience, Housekeeping Service response time, Resturant Manager Ms Ishani’s courtesy for helping us in taking breakfast after temple visit. Darjeeling Tea Sachet - we loved it. Can you let us know the company name so that we can place order for us Brush n Toothpaste Quality was superb We enjoyed Outside walk after Dinner.

On the 3rd day, we were able to hear the voice from adjacent room. May be because of common door this was happening. But we didn’t like it and it was to sound proof. The noise from TV / chatting must be confined to that room only. The Shampoo bottles near shower got detached while taking out the shampoo. This may require some engineering thought for its fixed placement.

We had booked a stay for 5 nights @ Novotel Kolkata for my brother’s wedding. After an unpleasant experience with the room’s cleanliness & response from the night staff on the first night, we had shared our feedback through TripAdvisor. From day 2 onwards, I must say that the novotel managers looked into the matter and ensured a pleasant stay for the rest of the 4 nights so that I could focus on the wedding. I must appreciate all the efforts put in by Chandrani & Poonam. Special mention to the floor hospitality lead - Sushmita & team as well. (Reminds me of Arjun’s leadership from his courtyard days). Although the unpleasant beginnings, All’s well that ends well.  Overall, I would consider Novotel for my next visit and a few consistent experiences like this may make me consider them with my favorites of ITC & Marriott. I appreciate their hospitality and as my 2 cents would encourage them to deliver this outstanding service from day 1 and improve the night shift’s performance.

Our package included breakfast, which gets served till 10:30 AM but unfortunately due to our work we had to sleep late so we got woke up late at 11 and missed, called to the reception if anything could be arranged but unfortunately nothing was arrangeable which is disappointing as they told that now we have to pay if we order breakfast, why shall we be double charged for a simple breakfast. A guest shouldn't leave empty-handed in the morning after checkout.

Wonderful experience with a great view, convenient location and excellent behaviour of staff. The staff at this hotel embodies the essence of excellent customer service. Specially Avirup Ghosh who upgraded my room to the suite room which was just wow. His commitment to making my stay exceptional has left an indelible mark, and I eagerly anticipate returning in the future. It's an easy five-star rating for this outstanding team!
