Very nice and clean and comfortable rooms, very nice staff, the location is good and vretty close to the train station and there's restaurants and convenience stores close by. Really liked stayinf here and absolutely would come back. A cute little restaurant at the ground floor with some more traditional foods/dishes from Akita, as well as other dishes. Very good!

Didn't meet anybody that could speak English, but managed just fine with me elementary Japanese. It's too bad that the AC can't run when you're not in the room, because it needs the room key in the thing on the wall.

The staff were very accommodating, considering it was a last minute booking on a very tight schedule. While there were only a few rooms left at the time of the booking, the guest was satisfied with the facilities and the stay overall. It is a second stay for this guest at this hotel, and much like the previous stay, the thing that truly makes this hotel stand out is the courtesy and treatment by the staff, which I found exceptional even by the high standards of the Japanese hospitality industry. It is within a reasonable walking distance of several hot springs spas, the major commercial center which is the area of the train station, and the primary nightlife area of Kawabata. Highly recommended in for anyone traveling to, or staying in, Akita city.

The only thing that can be said against the hotel is its lack of leisure facilities. It is very much a business-hotel type of hotel, meaning that for travels looking for a laze-around-the-pool kind of vacation it's not ideal. However, it is within a reasonable walking distance of several hot springs spas, the major commercial center which is the area of the train station, and the primary nightlife area of Kawabata.

The property was in a great location and very quiet. It was close to the station but far enough from the hustle and bustle of the station. It was less than a 5 minute walk from lots of restaurants and shops. The breakfast every morning was delicious and had a different selection on both days that we stayed there. The staff was also very friendly and helpful.

The bed and pillows were a little uncomfortable. It would’ve been great to be given one more pillow per person.

Very friendly and helpful front desk staff. Very clean. Good location, close to the train station. There’s a hamper for guests to use at the laundromat. That’s a simple but considerate touch that I appreciated.

Breakfast was not included. There was only one pillow per guest. They need to provide at least 2 pillows per guest. The pants press was useless. They might as well just provide an iron and ironing board.

The room is spacious enough to comfortably open two large suitcases. The bed is generously sized and very comfortable. Cleanliness was excellent, with the room well-maintained and spotless. The service was friendly and attentive, enhancing our overall stay.

The location is a 10-minute walk from Akita Station, which may be inconvenient for some. The furniture is slightly outdated, though still functional and usable.

Spacious, friendly staff, at city center and near to the station, clean and superb services, affordable, got coin laundry services within the premise, room for family of five is really spacious!! Hope all Richmond hotel chain has the same standard as this. Will definitely return to this hotel if got another chance to travel to Akita.

I seemed to have pre-booked a smoking room by mistake, but staff cheerfully gave us a non-smoking one, a corner room which was spacious and comfortable - a pleasant place to shelter from the rain which was falling by the 2.00 p.m. check-in. Bathroom was big and bright - which can't always be guaranteed in Japanese hotels - with a powerful shower. Location is central, just ten minutes leisurely walk from the train station, with lots of local restaurants also in the vicinity. Would definitely stay in the Richmond again.

We stayed one night as a family. Everything was okay and the hotel was clean. No smoke smell. No noise. Darkness at night. Kid safe room. Cleanness. Many complimentary items like Akita bath salts. I recommend it to families with small kids. Senshu Park is the best place for kids in Akita, it's in walking distance.

The room is spacious, considerably big for Japan standard. The bed quite big. Our room have 3 beds, but it sufficient with our family. I personally love their amenities, especially their in-house toiletteries (shampoo and body wash etc). And the staff also very friendly and accomodating towards tourist. Definitely will come here again some day!

On-site parking was available (for a fee) and very easy. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a good size, with four single beds set up for our family of four, and still extra room for our luggage. Everything was clean and well maintained. The hotel is in a good location just a short walk from Senshu Park and the Kubota Castle grounds, which are definitely worth a visit! A few food places nearby as well. We enjoyed our dinner at Cosi Cosi Italian. It's also just a short walk to the Akita train station. We would happily stay here again.
