We had booked a corner twin room which is a large room with a low sofa and TV, as well as a bathroom with a large bath as well as a shower. By pushing the beds together it made a massive bed :-) In Japanese traditional the beds are firm which siuts us perfectly. The location is connected to the Akita train station, very handy indeed, and right in the middle of the shopping area with many restaurants and the park within easy walking distance.

A higher sofa would be easier to get on and off and a second dining chair would have been great so we could both have used the table for in-room meals.

Pros: Right next to Akita station, with lots of places to eat nearby and a 7-11 right next door. There’s also a big mall you can get to undercover, so it’s a good place to go on a rainy day. The room was spacious and far nicer than your average business hotel. The breakfast was also exceptionally good. The price I paid for a stay in March was an absolute steal. 11:00 am checkout time. Cons: The room was too hot. Even with the heating turned off, I woke up sweating and had to open the window to get some cool air. Noise carries fairly easily. Only three clothes hangers, which seems rather stingy for a “luxury” hotel.

Location was exceptional, being right next to the station and a department store with all the associated comforts. The room while compact, was large enough for comfort and the beds and pillows provided (two were given with different levels of hardness, and this was much appreciated) were comfortable, as was the relatively spacious bathroom. The breakfast spread was impressive and I appreciated the highlights of Akita and the small write-ups about the local cuisine.

The reception itself was a little bit cold, even passing me by entirely to attend to the ladies behind me in the queue when I was waiting in line at the check-in counter, even though I had luggage under their care as well. They quickly rectified that however when I called out to them, but the person who assisted with storing the luggage was exceptionally friendly, so there was that.

Excellent location with direct access from JR station. Very new hotel stylish decor and good lighting options in room, quality big TV etc. Decent size room by Japanese standards (we booked a Double in North wing but bed seemed to be a king). Some nice touches in room.

Breakfast, there was a food enough choice with some nice fruit etc but very much a Japanese spread and not suited to our tastes and food tended to be lukewarm making it seem v greasy. Fancy TV system promised so much with both screen mirroring and casting but in reality it wouldn’t work (and I really tried). Was able to use UTube and photo mirroring).

I had a wonderful stay at the Metropolitan Akita Hotel! ・The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful, making the check-in process smooth and quick. ・The room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed with modern amenities, offering both comfort and style. ・The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. ・The hotel’s location is also ideal, conveniently situated near Akita Station. Overall, my experience at the Metropolitan Akita Hotel was fantastic, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Akita.

The location is excellent. The hotel is located right next to Akita Station. Also there are a lot of restaurants nearby where you you can eat breakfast. The hotel breakfast is great, but it is expensive (2,400 yen). The rooms are spacious and very clean.

The check-in staff could be friendlier. I'm not sure why they need to take a copy of my permanent resident card. Most hotels do not.

Location can’t be beat. The staff were so nice. So nice. Breakfast was outstanding and the one thing I like the most was I was able to keep the temperature of the room cool. So hard to find in some hotels in Japan in winter! Most only allow you to heat the room. It was nice too keep the room colder to sleep. Also, everyone was professional and sweet. Want to come back soon. 🙌

The access to the train station was excellent. But signage was a bit confusing for me.

The perfect hotel for people traveling by plane or train, literally just meters away from both Akita Station and the limousine-bus-stop from the airport. Clean, nice, high quality, with a good breakfast-buffet and a 7/11 right next door that's open 24/7.

Not the biggest fan of the bed, as I found it quite hard, but that's a recurring problem for me with hotel beds and not specific to just this hotel.

Very good location.value for money. I didn’t have much problems although I had a smoking room.

Difficult to communicate in English.

Location was really good, especially for rain that came in on Sunday at noon, three hours before the expected time via a weather application. My room was not disturbed by the nearby train station. It also is joined with the shopping mall.

Breakfast was missing some French toast, despite there being syrup put out. No waffles or pancakes either. So why have the syrup out? I wished for some more breads too. However, it is usually Japanese style breakfast, not European breakfast, and I expected it to be similar.
