Very good Japanese breakfast. If you're early and lucky you can see Mt Fuji with your breakfast. I chose the Lakeview and that was definitely worth it to stay two nights. Wished I could stay longer. Very good value for the views and close to Mt Fuji and the lake with many activities. Many good restaurants outside to eat. Very good service from the staff, they helped with my bus reservation.

It's an older building so some facelift would probably help. Otherwise everything works. I wished there was a change machine in the laundry room. New machines and dryers would help.

Location, Location and location!! Hands down we felt Yamanakako was the best of all lakes nearest to the magnificent symbol of Japan and with a car you can simply do wonders roaming about the vicinity for 1 or 2 days which makes for a perfect experience. Some woww restaurants and cafes nearby makes the location so idyllic. The biggest plus being that it is a lot less touristy and spaced out. Lawsons and couple of 7 Elevens close by for all all conveniences Allowed a late night Check in (beyond 12 AM ). The hotel is right to the point and there is nothing too much or nothing too little.

Lack of a better value for money (maybe we made very late bookings) Smaller rooms (countryside Japan should offer bigger better accomodations) Not having a personal transport could be a little frustrating. More or less like- no car, not so much fun :)

The situation of the hotel on the lake, it was beautiful. There were good bus connections, we used to go to Arakura and Hakone but requires organisation. Really enjoyed eating in Shoya. Really enjoyed the onsen especially the outdoor part! And last but not least, waking up to a view of Mt. Fuji, basically our only clear view, as the times we were aiming to see it, it was cloudy.

Rooms are basic, no mixer taps or rain shower, some.of the random criteria I use for rating a room 😄 but hotel was still great.

Wonderful location, much quieter lake compared with Kawaguchi. Lots of dining options nearby. Outstanding views of Mt Fuji from the courtyard or bedrooms at the rear of the property. The local tourist buses as well as the ones from Tokyo stop outside the hotel. The staff were super friendly and provided assistance with transport routes after our stay. Highly recommend, would stay again.

The staff was very helpful despite our language barrier. Checkin was quick and easy. The views from the hotel were amazing.

The rooms could use spraying for bugs. We had 2 spiders in the room, but to they kept to themselves and we just left them alone haha Other than that, the room was great. One thing I will add, everything in the town was closed. So I couldn't do a lot of the stuff I had hoped to do. Of course this wasn't a fault of the staff or the hotel--just poor planning on my part.

Everything was fantastic, especially the amazing view of the golden mountain Fuji in the morning from room windows. The staff were very nice and helpful. The hot springs water was also enjoyable except someone’s bad manner. Another thing disappointed me was the bad taste of breakfast! It should be delicious as an excellent hotel. Except for improvement in my next trip. Thanks!

Location and service

Had a wonderful couple of nights. We had a jnr suite with a view of mount Fuji... WOW. The hotel was exceptionally clean, with traditional touches... Yukata's and Geta provided. The Onsen was amazing be brave and try it.. male and females separate but nudity a requirement. On the banks of Lake Yamamanaka. For coffee and Breakfast try Paris a lovely little place.

location is perfect. Staff is very nice. Breakfast is pretty good. Hot spring is great, especially the outdoor section. Wondering when I made reservation why booking.com didn't provide a rate that includes breakfast, we had to pay upfront for breakfast.

just wish the room is a little larger, and it would be nice if the mattress is a little firmer.

A cute little hotel, while the building is slightly outdated it was a great stop on the Japan visit. That staff are friendly and most spoke English. There is an onsen tax, but it was with the cost as the facilities are up to date and have a stunning view of mt Fuji. The kettle wasn’t what we were use too but we worked it and the fridge was helpful too.
