Room so good! Private Onsen! Delicious dinner and breakfast Staff also kind

The owner and staff were very nice and accomodating and the meals were reasonably priced and delicious! The lodging has a very cosy and homey feeling so it will feel like a second home. Not to mention you will get a great view of Fuji from your room if the weather conditions are favorable.

The lodging can be a bit hard to access if you do not have a car. It is a fairly long and uphill walk from the main road, and the path is dark at night, so you will have to rely on the owner to drive you in and out from the property to the main road for your sightseeing activities.

We spent one night at this guesthouse while travelling from Kyoto to Tokyo by car. Very nice owners, friendly and flexible with our wishes. Communication in English was possible without problems. The Onsen usage was free and the Japanese dinner that we ordered spontaneously was very nice. If the weather permits it, you will see Mount Fuji directly from the eating room and possibly (depending on your room) even from your bed. Would clearly recommend this.

It is a bit further from the usual area so there are limited bus options, but the accomodation provides a shuttle to the nearest bus stop. The place itself is beautiful and has an excellent view of Mount Fuji. It was very cozy and relaxing with, staff was super friendly, food was good and the restaurant had a nice cozy ambiance. I definitely recommend this place for a stay at Kawaguchiko.

One of the best places i´ve stayed in my one month trip in Japan. The view of the Mount Fuji from the room and from the private onsen were breathtaking. I stayed in a traditional style room and it was so great! They can accomodate the menu if you ask for it as vegan. The breakfast was delicious. The onsen is amazing. I went without a car and the staff pick me up from the station and drove me also to the closest bus stops without problem. The staff was great and helpfull.

The guesthouse was GREAT. The next time I would rent a car to have more independence.

Sakuya was a delight. it seems it’s run by a husband and wife. they picked us up from the train station. offered delicious and nutritious home cooked breakfasts and dinner for a reasonable price. it was the end of winter so still the slow season and we were their during the week so we basically had the place to ourself. beautiful views of fuji from every window. the onsen was lovely. I would recommend trying to get in before sunset so you see the beautiful views.

we did not have a car and this is a relatively quiet area. the bus line doesn’t go up all the way to the property. having a car would be ideal but we made it work.

Excellent guest house for staying overnight to see Mt.Fuji when you wake up from the window. There’s private onsen for free for 40 mins per group. Delicious dinner and breakfast are also available at the place so just ask the host when you reserve. There’s also free pick up service from Oishi park.

A beautiful family home, with comfortable, practical and quiet rooms. The onsen is gorgeous, and we were able to book a private session. The breakfast (for extra cost) was excellent value - it’s huge! The views are amazing - we could see Mount Fuji from our window.

Nothing - however without a car it would have been difficult to get to.

Lovely location with a beautiful view of Mt. Fuji and an onsen. Amazing hosts that drove us to to the bus stop in the morning after check-out so we could get to the bus in time. Would stay here again!

Delicious food also great hospitality from the owner and staff. He recommended several scenic spots around Yamanashi and helped us to plan our trip.

If you intended to check out as early as 7 or 8 a.m you better use a car or bicycle. It isn't easy to find a taxi or other means of public transportation before 9 a.m. In our cases, the owner drove us and other guests to our intended bus stop or Kawaguchiko-station at 9.30 a.m.
