- The usual business hotel from the well-known brand, you cannot go wrong, if you know what you are getting into. - The location is great, very close to the park and to public transport. - The room was functional and clean.

- The interactions with staff was a bit strange, I asked for a loundry service and the staff members kept reminding me for some reason that if I want to use that service, I have to pay. I have never ever experienced this in Japan and I travel a lot. I am well aware how the loundry service works and the pricing was clearly visible not only on the loundry sheet, but also in the interactive menu on the TV. - The Internet connection was very unstable, I have been in IT for two decades, this is a constant issue in Japanese hotels.

The rooms were pretty spacious, the onsen was also very nice and Goryokaku was basically around the corner so great location. We did not need our room to be cleaned because we only stayed for two nights, so we recieved drink vouchers at the reception as a thank you! All in all that was great.

The hotel is old. There is no smart tv on the rooms, the bathrooms look a little outdated and the interior is very 90's all around. Wouldn't be a problem if I hadn't accidentally booked a smoking room. It smelled like a fantasy novel tavern and the stench was stuck to all furniture and the walls. Rooms like that shouldn't exist anymore, just open a smoking room! But I would stay here again, just mind the option.

The breakfast was amazing. Great Bath as well. Staff were friendly and polite and it was in a good location. Very good price too.

The beds and pillows were a little hard apart from that everything was amazing.

Room is small as typical Japan hotels

Route Inn is known for its good quality, affordable rooms, breakfast/restaurant, and onsen. I had a single room, which was enough for one person with the usual furniture (desk, lights, table, TV, etc.). The staff were very kind and helpful, answering all my questions. The hotel is also just a short walk from Goryokaku (the star-shaped fortress) in one direction and trams in the other. Several buses travel around this area.

The bed was like sleeping on concrete. I think putting the bedding and pillows on the floor would have been more comfortable. Also the lifts/elevators were sometimes extremely slow. There are only 2 for 14 floors, and at one point, I had to wait for nearly 5 minutes during a busy rush.

The location is good, and the staff are efficient.

The room was tiny and the beds were like slabs of concrete.

The room smelled really strongly of smoke. I asked to have a nonsmoking room but my request was not granted. I spent very little time in the room because of this, which was disappointing because it was not cheap. The bed was not comfortable.
