I booked this "blind" (no advance information) at tourist info office at Yamanouchi Station (eleven stars for staff there!). Like a couple of the other "business" hotels I stayed in, predictably functional, clean, comfortable. Pluses -- VERY close to train station, lovely helpful receptionist, excellent cheap breakfast nicely served, overall friendly staff. Excellent value.

Clean room, comfortable bed. Small but clean bathroom with movable shower head. Nice and quite hot water. Facilities may look dated but it's really no issue, felt very comfortable and cozy staying here. Very close to the train station, 5 minutes walking, no issue finding the hotel. Excellent included breakfast as well, very yummy curry.

I thought it was a little odd that I had to leave the key at the front desk when I left outside of the hotel for the day. Maybe it's for access to rooms for cleaning? Not a problem but what if someone was in a hurry or forgot, would they get in trouble?

The cheapest hotel for doing laundry, 100 yen to use the washing machine and dryer. it 2 different machine so just dump your laundry into the washing machine and return 45 mins to transfer your laundry to dryer which will take about 1.5 hours.

Convenience store are not located opposite and will take abit of walking so do buy what you required before returning back to hotel but if it drinks then it okay as the hotel itself does sell some bottle/can drink.

The room was so clean and even in a smoking-allowed floor I could not smell any smoke. I liked how quickly the heater worked, and I slept well. It was not huge, but for me it was plenty and I enjoyed my stay. The staff was nice, and the breakfast was also good for the price (Japanese style). I wished I could stay one day longer!

I wish there were any sort of cooked eggs for breakfast even if was meant to be traditional Japanese.

Not very close to the train station but only 7min walk. The room looks old but clean and comfortable. Both fan and air-condition are provided. The bed mattress is very soft. Very quiet during night hours. Front desk does not speak much English but understands English.

I didn't find convenient stores nearby, only a vending machine close to the elevator. The bath is so tiny that I cannot turn around freely during showering. Although the breakfast is offered but the foods options are very limited(mainly fish, rice and soup) The room key comes with a big plastic bar, not friendly to pocket carrying.

Employees are very nice and warm-welcome! We have no problem communicate with them even they don’t speak English. It is only 5~10mins walk to the train station. Great value! I love the small sofa inside the room. They’re cute and comfortable.

The Japanese staff were amazingly kind and helpful. The location was great as it was very close to the main train station. The rooms were very compact but it was well equipped. Highly recommended if you need a short stay.

This place is PERFECT. So close to the train & all places you want to see the Hakodate. All of the staff is so friendly. Bed & room was very clean & comfortable. Can’t recommend this place enough!!!!

within walkable distance to the train station, in a quiet location near the main road. front desk is always manned. ensuite, breakfast is included and more than just curry rice for early birds. one of the best value in the whole of Japan. the heater was turned on to warm up the room upon arrival.

I could hear snoring from next door.

Very good value for money. Affordable and relatively close to the station. Staff at counter were friendly and can somewhat communicate in English. Comes with breakfast too - choices of curry rice and natto. Room is clean, save for some old furnitures and heating equipment. It's not too shabby.
