I really liked that it was a real Japanese breakfast. It was also delicious and the selection was slightly different every morning (I stayed two nights), which was welcome. The location is great, maybe five minutes to the castle, ten minutes to the JR station, plus you have to walk through shopping galleries that protect you from the sun or rain. Nearby are bars, cafes, shops. And the view from the terrace to the castle.

It was difficult to regulate the temperature in the room, sometimes it was even too cold. The furniture was a bit worn and the bed was very high - I was afraid of falling out.

Most impressive was the friendliness and helpfulness of staff. The location is great for me, being midway between Himeji Station and Himeji Castle. The walk from the station is mostly covered as well - it was raining when I arrived. The hotel also provides an outside smoking area which is also covered. I'm a tallish person and the bed was comfortable for me. The provided amenities (free from reception) covered everything that I was short on. If it's your thing to have breakfast at the hotel I can surely recommend the Japanese-style breakfast as nutritious, delicious and filling.

I can't think of anything that I didn't like. I've stayed before and I will stay again next time I'm in Himeji.

Good clean rooms provided by a chain hotel. Room was quite small but about normal for city centre hotels in Japan and it included an en-suite bathroom and a kettle. The staff all spoke English and were polite and helpful. A great buffet breakfast with wide selection of dishes is included within the price and one can help oneself to as many sachets of coffee as you want for your room. Location is very good; just 5 minutes walk from the famous castle, which is why people visit Himeji. It is also within easy walking distance of the railway station with a supermarket and restaurants nearby as well. I can highly recommend this hotel

Everything was good during my 1-night stay. Late check in (after midnight) wasn't a problem. Location is good, around 10 mins from the station along the shopping street (which has lights even late at night), and close to the castle.

I sent messages to notify the hotel of the late arrival, there was no response which made me a bit worried (as the rules say that if you don't arrive before midnight, they will treat you as a no show and will give away your room). But in the end it was fine, reception is open 24 h and late check in wasn't a problem.

Location: An easy 10-minute walks from the train station and to Himeji Castle. The covered mall for restaurants and shopping around the corner! Amenities: excellent breakfast, rooftop Terrace with vie of the castle, room perks like fridge and bathtub, no gym but $4 for 2 hours nearby. Hint for excellent visit to Castle and Garden: request for a personal, no fee guide thru Castle website. Our English speaking guide even picked us up at hotel. No fee but we took her to lunch and gave a tip. Learned so much in 4-hour tour!

The room was small but clean. Towels could be bigger but it’s different country.

The location was great, within easy reach of the station. Had lifts and staff spoke English. Our room was clean, a reasonable size, and it had a comfy bed, with good en-suite bathroom. At night we had an amazing view of Himeji castle lit up from the room. It was very easy to visit there the next day as the staff stored our luggage safely. Breakfast was good, especially Japanese options. This place was great value for money.

Booked a smoking room by mistake, so in future I would make sure it was non-smoking, due to the lingering smell of tobacco. This is not a criticism though, as some people would appreciate being able to smoke in the room.

Stayed 3 nights in Hotel Wing. Very nice hotel. Staff friendly and welcoming. Lifts to room. Room smallish but I'm only one person so it was fine Bed and pillows comfortable. Aircon and wifi good. Bathroom small but functional Clean sheets and towels. Restaurant onsite. Top cafe, Smash Cafe, right across the road from hotel. Very nice stay. About 10 minute walk to Castle About 9 minutes walk to railway station.

Everything good

Nice room. I liked that the single use stuff was in the lobby and we only took what we needed. I always travel with my own toothbrush and razor, so I see no need for the rooms to be stocked with them.

The pillows. Dammit I hate Japanese pillows; the ones with beans filling sections on the underside of the pillow. I want soft pillows that I can flip and it feels the same job both sides. But there's little that can be done about that, I suppose. And it's a minor complaint.

My room was larger than many hotel rooms I've stayed in in Japan. The hotel location was really convenient as it was close to Himeji Castle and the nearby garden and museums and within walking distance of the train station. The buffet breakfast had a large choice of food and drinks and varied from day to day. The staff was very helpful. I could obtain a lot of useful tourist pamphlets and other information at the hotel. The hotel rooftop area had a view of Himeji Castle and I was able to eat there on a couple of occasions.

We paid for the largest room, which was still great value. We watched the sun set and Himehi light up for the night from the upper balcony. The garden next to castle is interesting. Wing is less that 1km from train station, easy flat walk. The Sanyo Department store near station has a great food hall in the basement. Book with the breakfast if you can.
