Tomo and his family are awesome. They are the perfects hosts and you immediately feel very welcome in their lovely guest house. Tomo has everything worked out. There is a nice community room, where you have a chance to write postcards (or look at all the lovely guest books with reviews from other guests from your or other countries) or get in touch with the other guests. He also has a list of restaurants and the Okonomiyake restaurant round the corner was great. We had a fantastic stay and when we travel to Japan again, this little guest house will be on our list to visit again. The room was big and Tomo explained well how to get the Japanese beds ready. Sleeping on a traditional Japanese Futon was a really nice experience. The breakfast was a real bargain and very tasty. One day we got the traditional almond toast, on another day we had ham toast and a joghurt. The green tea was really nice. And for a small fee you can even wash your laundry there. AWESOME!!!

The stay was too short. Next time we will make sure to stay longer ;o)

A hidden gem, a home away from home. Cute little guesthouse that was welcoming and had comfortable beds. My children loved it here! At this point in our trip they were homesick and this stay was like being at home! There were kids books, some toys and they even got to pick up a guitar again! They have missed their guitars a lot so this was an added bonus. Very good location. Himeji is a little gem town, it’s so much more than a castle. We enjoyed exploring the back streets. Had the best food of our 18 day trip in cute little hidden restaurants. Don’t regret our decision to stay. The castle and the gardens deserves half a day of exploration at the minimum.

Tomo-san provided a delicious breakfast and carried my bags up the steep stairs. Since I had never set out a futon, he prepared it for me and, I think he must have put a couple together because it was nice and soft. He was very helpful with directions and provided lots of pamphlet-like materials on what to do in Himeji. I really appreciated his kindness.

Everything was very nice. The stairs are somewhat steep and narrow, but since Tomo-san carried my bags, I didn't have to worry.

The house was was very clean, comfortable and well organized. A special mention goes to Tomo-san, my boyfriend and I suffered from food poisoning and weren't able to move to the next location, Tomo-san let us stay one more day even though that day was a festivity and the guesthouse was supposed to be closed. He really saved us and showed us what is the meaning of hospitality and generosity. I can only reccomand Shironoshita Guesthouse for all those who want to experience the true Japanese hospitality and warmth.

Property was very clean and well organized and the hosts were more than accommodating.

This is not a complaint but a suggestion. There are free earplugs in the washroom area which is very generous. Two men in my room snored like chainsaws. The earplugs really didn’t do anything and I couldn’t sleep. Luckily I remembered I had an extra pair of my own earplugs tucked away in my bag and they blocked out the noise. I fell fast asleep. So I guess all I’m saying is, when the current earplugs run out and you go to buy more, maybe there are some stronger ones!

The owner is one of the nicest people I have ever met. His kindness and hospitality were very nice, especially since this was my first stop on my Japan travel. There was free breakfast included (which I didn't remember booking but was a very nice surprise), which he and his wife made themselves, so very delicious! He has books where all the travellers can write according to which country they are from. Checkin was quick and easy, and all the facilities are top-notch!

Unfortunately I had a snorer in my room so loud you could literally hear him from the street XD, but that's not really the hostels fault. Otherwise, no complaints

We had a lovely stay for one night and I think it would also be a great place to stay for a few days as a base to explore Kansai (Osaka, Nara, Kyoto, Kinosaki etc). It is definitely worth staying in Himeji overnight to enjoy the castle/gardens nice and early and be able to explore the town. Our host was wonderful and communicated really well with us, suggesting where to get breakfast when we forgot to ask (our fault!). We were a honeymoon couple, but I think it is also really well set up for families or larger groups of friends. The house has a lovely lived in vibe with all the stickers and postcards - it felt like staying at a friends house rather than a hotel! Very much recommend :)

Tomo San was a friendly host. The facility was a bit further out of the town activity centre but still easy to access. Breakfast was good and the ability to socialize with other guests around the kitchen table was a great plus. Again - shoes off at door. Can honestly recommend to anyone who can integrate into a guest house environment.

Nothing concerned us - was what we expected. Enjoyed our stay.

The hosts are a family and they were really nice when we arrived, they gave us a small introduction and gave us a mini tour of the facility to ensure we knew where everything was. This was probably my favourite place to stay during my stay in Japan and would stay here again if I were to visit Himeji again, Facilities and room were extremely clean!!

The guesthouse is beautiful and clean. My room was spacious and had everything I needed. The host and his wife are really kind and helpful. If I have the chance, I will come back.

Not about the property, but if you carry large luggage, Kyoguchi station does not have neither escalators nor an elevator. Just be aware of that.
