Really good location - walking distance to most things. Shower was nice and clean, the pressure was strong. Bed was massive (biggest bed i ever laid on) Hotel has a lot of facilities like coin laundry, vending machine, filtered water and public spa bath for female & male Service and staff was top notch

We knew the room would be small but it was smaller than what we expected. Very tight to open 2 luggages and also to walk around freely. Once you open luggages, the free space you have left is pretty much the bed. Our window view was inside of a staircase - very weird and we had to keep the windows closed at all times just incase people walk past and look in. I recommend skipping on the breakfast, it’s not worth the 1,500 yen per person in my opinion.

Loved the good location; 1 minute from convenience stores and public transportation (bus stop is right by the hotel and the closest train / subway station is about 5 min walk. Lots of good restaurants around and also about 1-5 mins walk from the hotel. The hotel and the room we stayed in was extremely clean. Hotel facilities are adequate (adequate number of coin laundry washers, microwave oven and water/ice dispensers. The hotel has an Onsen too which was quite enjoyable.

The hotel room we stayed in was extremely small for 3 people. Barely any room to maneuver. Desk space is almost non-existent. If we had bigger luggage it would be problematic. Good thing we only had 3 carry on luggage.

I chose this location as close to a range of gluten free restaurants for my daughter. The hotel was very clean and the staff at reception really welcoming and attentive. There are washers/dryers on the second floor (detergent is included in the wash; they tend to get very busy); there is also an ice and cold water machine, which was very convenient. They clean the rooms every four days; you need to let them know when you check in if you want your room cleaned in between too; if you leave your bath towels outside the door in the morning, they will leave clean ones for you.

This hotel is convenient! It's just a short walk from a metro station that has an elevator, which is a huge plus. There's also a bus stop right nearby, a 7-Eleven practically next door, and a 24-hour Fresco supermarket just across the street – perfect for late-night needs. We even found an affordable ramen shop directly opposite the hotel, which was great for a quick and cheap dinner. The hotel itself is clean, and the staff are polite. We really appreciated being able to store our luggage both before check-in and after check-out, making our travel much smoother. Highly recommended!

I recently stayed at Hotel Amanek Kyoto and had a wonderful experience! The location is super convenient—just a short walk to both the subway and bus stations, which made exploring the city really easy. There are also several convenience stores nearby, which came in handy for late-night snacks and quick essentials. The hotel itself was clean and well-maintained. The room was cozy and comfortable, perfect for a good rest after a full day of sightseeing. I especially appreciated the accommodating staff—they were kind, helpful, and made sure my stay went smoothly. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a hassle-free and comfortable stay in Kyoto!

However, I found the room to be quite small. It was fine for a short stay, but if you’re bringing larger luggage or staying for several days, space might be a bit tight.

At first we were unsure how would the accomodation be as it was bit far from shijo dori - Kyoto downtown. And was comparatively economical It turned out to be best one in our whole trip for multiple reasons such as - 50m from bus stop, free drinks for hotel guest in allocated hours, common areas to eat so you can buy your food to eat, Spa/onsen for free, and most importantly the room was bigger than tokyo and osaka ones. The location, room size, hotel facilities and most importantly affordability was win for me

Nothing in particular, however if the hotel had outdoor view - itd be top notch and if they could do clean room in two days intervals

This was my second stay at Hotel Amanek and it was just as good as I remembered. To me it’s perfectly situated on the bus route from Kyoto station (3 stops) and a short walk over the bridge to the Keihan line to Nara or a bit further walk up to Gion and the temples and Pagodas there. The Onsen is also a great and the hotel amenities (robes and toothbrushes etc) are a nice touch.

The only thing we had an issue with was the Digital information center on the TV which indicated that there was a free washer but when we checked in person, all 3 machines were in use.

Very comfortable beds, great location close to Nishiki Market and Takashimaya (Nintendo store), friendly staff. The onsen was very nice as well.

The room is ridiculously small, we had a hard time with our luggage. The internet was faulty on my laptop inside the room, I had a hard time with that, and one time the answer they gave me was to just wait. I didn't like that I had to go to the water cooler on the 2nd floor (I was on the 7th), and the breakfast was very hard to get used to (I'm not a fan of eating fish and rice at 9 am), as well as ending quite soon, but certainly helped.

Our stay at the Amanek Hotel in Kyoto was incredible. The first thing we noticed was the excellent location—you can walk to many places, and there's a train station and bus stops right next to the hotel, so transportation and location are a 10/10. The room was fantastic, very modern, and the furniture even seemed new. The daily breakfast was delicious, and I definitely enjoyed my stay here; I highly recommend it. The staff was very friendly and helpful at all times. The 15-hour flight from Mexico was totally worth it to arrive and relax at this hotel.

The main thing we disliked was the horrible smell of cigarette smoke that filled the entire first floor due to the smoking room. What bothered us the most was that the elevator was also permeated with this odor—I’m not sure if the ventilation systems were connected, but it’s definitely something I would recommend improving. Another issue, although understandable, was the breakfast hours. For most foreigners, the schedule felt a bit tight; there were many days when we arrived just 10 minutes after 9:30 am. Perhaps extending the breakfast time a little would be a good idea.

Easily accessible by bus from the main station, but also not too far to walk. It is also in a good location to visit other famous areas of the city. The hotel felt clean and modern, the lounge area with free drinks at specified hours was a very welcome addition. The room itself was lovely and the bathroom and shower were clean and spacious. Pretty solid view of Kyoto too! Staff were helpful, welcoming and attentive :)

Elevators smelt slightly smoky at times due to the vicinity of the smoking room. Not enough to warrant a major issue though.
