Executive Suite was beautiful, spacious and had sufficient sleeping spaces for families (2 proper beds, 2 futon beds on the floor, and 1 sofa). There were plenty of facilities including in-room washing machine & dryer. Location is next to a main road but not noisy. Walkable to the nearest train station less than 10 min away. Some restaurants and convenience stores nearby.

No proper front desk service available. Only sometimes there would be a staff member or two there. Although we could contact someone via Skype on the iPad anytime, it wasn't so easy to communicate as compared to face-to-face. Given the price we paid of abt $500/night for the Executive Suite, we would've expected proper front desk service. Wish there was a door between the futon bed area and the sofa area so we wouldn't disturb each other. Agree with other reviewers that the motion sensor light at the entrance is annoying. It's really bright so whenever someone uses the toilet at night, the others in the living room and even the futon bed area would be disturbed. Hotel should really just make it a normal on/off switch light.

The space and the comfort. For a family with two kids it was perfect. We had room to spread out and be comfortable without tripping over each other. The fact that there was a washer/dryer unit in the room made everything even better. We could start the clothes in the morning leave for the day and come back with everything dry in the afternoon.

The location wasn't as close to the center of things or to the old town district as we had thought. Made it for a bit more of a trek to get dinner and breakfast.

Very good sized room with a kitchenette. A little out of the way, but buses and trains easy to use. Or a 20 min walk to restaurant area

Our first room which was a superior room didn’t have a washing machine. When we moved room due to extending our stay our next room had a machine but we had already paid to use the washer in the basement. Surely every superior room should have a washing machine

I was happy with my stay in minn kiyomizu gojo. My room had a washing machine that was such a luxury. The bed was very very comfortable and the room a great size. The location was perfect for me with easy access both to the historical centre and more modern side of town. The room seemed completely soundproof, I never heard a sound from other guests. The air con was strong.

The room had a sensor light at the front door. I couldn't find a way to turn that off. It didn't cause any issue but I would have turned it off if I had had the option.

Loved the location - easy travel to many of the sites, close to a great ceramics centre and not too busy. My favourite part was walking back into the lobby after a long day of exploring Kyoto - the smell was always amazing! The appartement itself is comfortable and contains most things you'll need (except a clothing iron), the shower is wonderfull and we even enjoyed sleeping on the tatami mats. We had no issued while staying here - nicest acommodation we had in Japan.

Modern. Clean. Quiet. Spacious. Close to lots of places. Easy walk to train and bus and shrines.

Check-in: They are trying to have you do it all electronically but it doesn't work that well. On check-in, the person checking us in said we had a back facing double room when in fact we'd booked a high floor suite. She insisted that was all that was left and we should take it up with Booking.com. This was quite alarming. 5 minutes later she said she'd found my name and indeed we had what we had booked. Very disturbing and unprofessional.

Location is great, walking distant to many attractions, restaurants, shirt bus/taxi ride to Kyoto station for day trips. Apartment was great for us travelling with a baby, beds are a bit hard but as many in japan, still comfortable, they are also big, like two double together so the three of us slept there comfortably. Washing machine and dryer are the best. Shower is very powerful, so nice after hot days. You really have everything you need for your stay. Happy with the choice

Aircon didn’t work so well so needs to be check, so some days was really hot and humid in the apartment, also having carpet doesn’t help. A few selves in the kitchen will be great as there is not many counter top space for food or to put things. In general we had a good stay.

Good location. Close to the Gino district with a good scene and restaurants. Close walk to the temples on the east side of town. About a 10 minute walk to the main river and the train station. Room was good, no complaints. Laundry in room was nice as well as the kitchen setup with a nice sized fridge. Comfortable stay. No front desk staff, have to communicate with them via iPad in lobby. It worked for us as we only requested an iron and more trash bags which were promptly sent to our room. Very small operation, limited service from staff, and near zero typical hotel amenities. worked great for our needs for a 6 night stay in Kyoto…felt like our own apartment. I’d absolutely stay here again.

This was our favorite hotel in our trip. The room was quite big, the floor beds allowed us to have our baby sleep with us safely. Minimalist room allowed our baby to explore without us constantly worrying about them getting hurt. The kitchen was well equipped although we didn’t use it much. The location was perfect to explore both Kyoto and surrounding areas. Many lovely small temples walking distance and some of the main one as well. Very helpful staff.

There was quite a lot of dust on the window seat and the blinds. The room needs a coffee machine.
