Loved the room! Super spacious and having your own private sink was very helpful! more than a private toilet or shower. Bed was super comfy and AC was nice and cold. The shower was great as well, although there's only 1 on each floor so sometimes you'll have to wait. The shower is right beside another room so because of that, you can't shower between 7am and midnight. Just something to keep in mind. Location is great. It's not super close to the subway but it's a short walk to the pagoda and village, and also a bus stop and Family Mart. It's a nice quiet neighbourhood and you'll see locals and children going to school more than you'll see tourists which I like.

The only downside was that you have to pay to change your towel (200 yen). Not a big deal, but every other hostel in Japan I've stayed gives a new towel daily.

Everything was clean, high quality linens, bed comfortable.. it had a special natural vibe with essential oils defuser, moss wall, but very sophisticated as well. The staff was so sweet, and helpful with everything. Very close walk to all the shopping streets in Higashiyama. Ninenzaka, Sannenzaka etc. if you use Apple Maps, the pin is a little bit off. It’s actually around the corner, so best to use Google maps where the pin is at the correct location, but they could fix this by the time you travel.. I loved everything about this place.

The interior is nice and welcoming. the room is very spacious and thoughtful gestures like essential oil and facial mask were also presented. I like how there’s a sink inside the room. The toilets and bathrooms are shared but well maintained. Location is also good with many popular attractions nearby. Staffs are very responsive to any message enquiries and requests :)

The bed was a little hard for my liking but still fine.

It would have been nice to have a glass or a cup in the room.

I liked RAK KIYOMIZU to be within Gion area and be able to visit the beloved highlights before the mass ie Kiyomizudera, Ninnenzaka, Sannenzaka and Yasaka Pagoda. Because it can get crowded for sure. The hotel was modern, rooms had plenty of room to store your luggage.

Turn of the heat at the hallways. I have visited Kyoto in september meaning during humid and hot weather. Sure there is airconditioning to your liking at your own room but no so much in the hallways.

It was a nice clean place, I had everything I may needed in my room, very tidy and clean. The bathroom on first floor was huge with a nice bathtub which was great after a long day walk. The location was also awesome, I could walk to main attractions and one day I came back to rest midday which was nice

As I expected and read in reviews you could hear noises from outside of your room but I was mainly there for sleep and with earplugs I was fine.

Immaculately clean and incredibly good value private room for the brilliant Gion location. I loved the concept of beautiful scents being staged throughout the property. It felt so luxurious to come back to rest in so much a peaceful and aesthetic setting. The single shower on the floor was no problem at all - it was always available when I needed it. I felt very safe as a solo traveller.

Room was nice, I appreciated the sink in the room, the staff were lovely, I was in a rush to do the inari mountain walk and They allowed luggage to be left on checkout, Would definitely recommend to family and friends, a decent area with a supermarket couple buildings down for all your needs

Walls are a bit paper thin so could hear everyone coming and going but some earbuds and your sorted, additional shower would have been good only 1 per floor

The location was perfect. The bathtub although shared was clean and brilliant after a long day walking especially if raining. They lend you umbrellas for free Staff are very friendly and helpful.l and it's beautifully clean, always.

Communication after hours is not fast. I got the wrong location but was probably my google maps, although I wasn't the first one with that problem. Not ideal if you want to sleep in - cleaning starts around 9am. If you can't handle earplugs and have a very light sleep this is not for you. Otherwise, it's brilliant. Nothing is free and facilities don't allow much cooking but there are many options available around so it's not much of a problem.

Very modern and clean 👌 with amenities and nice staff. The bed is comfy with air conditioning and a small desk. There's also a small sink to wash hands or teeth that's very useful. Nice in-room aroma perfume.

The bathroom is shared, so maybe you have to wait to get a shower or to go to the bathroom 🚻 Since the window room has only a rollable curtain, it doesn't block much light and it can make wake up early in the morning.
