The room itself was clean and larger than I was expecting. The staff were very nice and helpful. It was nice having laundry facilities on the top floor. And although it was raining during my stay, the rooftop terrace is nice. Very close to Kiyomizu-dera. Close to bus stop with many buses always running

The location was relatively out of the way from the subway and we had to rely on buses as the main mode of transportation around Kyoto which was slightly inconvenient as the buses were very busy and full. The bathroom also had a sewer smell every so often

Lovely staff made the stay very pleasant. They were always ready to help with explanations, umbrellas or extra pillows, and friendly greetings. They also dealt efficiently with receiving and sending our luggage to Tokyo. Amenities include a very useful laundry room; a free hot/cold drinks machine and a small kitchen in the lobby; and a terrace with chairs on the top floor. Location is good too (half an hour's walk from Kyoto train station, but close to Gion and Kiyomizu-dera temple).

The rooms are small and basic with a very compact bathroom (not a luxury hotel!). But still contained everything we needed

The staff were so kind and welcoming, and the location was excellent - a quick walk to Kiyomizudera Temple and the Higashiyama District. I would absolutely stay here again.

Minor issue, but the plugs in the room were a bit oddly placed - there was one right by the door and the other was so close to the bed that you couldn't plug anything in overnight or you'd bonk your head on the charger. Otherwise, it was lovely.

The staff was absolutely wonderful. We arrived one day earlier than booked because I made a mistake. The staff was very helpful and solved our problem. They also helped us with directions when visiting different locations around Kyoto. The hotel had a great location. They offered several different warm and cold drinks for free and many amenities. They are striving to become an eco-friendly hotel and gave out free waterbottles. The room was pretty big with two big nice beds. We might book this hotel again if we go back to Kyoto.

The room was too hot, and the air conditioner was quite loud.

The hotel is situated in the traditional neighborhood of Sannenzaka, just a small walk to Kyomizudera. There are many souvenir shops around, food stalls and sweets, so there are plenty of options for a quick bite. Even after they close at 18:00( yes quite early), there is a convenience store just a couple of minutes away. There is also microwave at the lobby where you can heat up food and eat it in your room or at the lobby tables. The room itself was spotless and spacious for Japanese standards. The bathroom was equipped with a new age toilet ( the one we all love) and shower products. I really liked the bed, which was very firm, but if you don’t, you can ask for a topper or extra pillows. If you want to go the center of the town or to the train station, there is a bus stop just a minute away. Finally, the people at the reception were the stars of this hotel. Very polite, friendly and helpful, ready to accommodate our every need. They will also store your luggage, if you have a late flight and give you cookies when you check out!

The wifi on the 3rd floor was quite bad😢

Within walking distance to Kiyomizudera temple. The bus system in Kyoto is quite good, and a bus stop is very close to the hotel. You can conviently buy a bus day-pass at the reception (after 8am, so plan accordingly). There is big louge area where you can eat/drink (or read the large collection of manga if you are into that). We were presented with a water bottle as welcome gift, and a Kyoto-themed cookie as send-off sovenir, which is nice touch.

Maybe make the roof laundry available to use during the evening?

A delightful hotel. The staff were very nice. We appreciated the free coffee & filtered water in the lobby. We also enjoyed using the roof terrace. The coin laundry was helpful as well. The location was good for the activities we wanted to do. The room itself was a good temperature and very clean.

Luggage storage isn't free, but I can understand that -- space is limited. We used coin lockers at the train station instead.

Convenient location to Kiyomizu temple and the district leading up to the temple. Easy access to public transport (bus route down the road). There were English speaking staff that helped with our smooth check-in in. They also offered luggage delivery servi, es so we had ours shipped to this location and used their shipping services to ship it to our next location. Ground floor had amenities needed, including free warm/cold drinks from their dispenser. Comfort wise for the room - spacious and had everything you needed. Beds are firm however wasn't too much of an issue for us. Washing machine and dryer available upstairs to use as well. Would stay here again if we come back to Kyoto!

The staff at this hotel were exceptional - very friendly and went to extra effort to please us. On the day we left it was raining and the woman host took an umbrella and walked down the street in order to successfully hail a taxi for us. The location was an easy walk to the temples / restaurants and bus stop to Kyoto station. Lovely rooftop deck with great views. Would absolutely stay here again!

Friendly, helpful staff made our stay so much more personable. Facilities were great, and we made the most of our free coffee and juice. Free water bottle on arrival. Great roof terrace Should have made use of the laundry facilities. Perfect location for seeing the sights. Great local shops

Slightly further out for restaurants but still in walking distance.
