The hotel and room were exceptional and furnished to a very high standard. It is close by the train station and has excellent transport links to popular tourist sights. Loved its location by the Kamogawa river. We saw fireflies and black kites when we were there. We loved the little personal touches like handwritten notes everyday telling us what the weather was going to be like and good wishes, also being invited to take part in Tanabata festival. Little treats of snacks and drinks left in our rooms to enjoy daily. The exceptional kindness and interest taken in our trips to the sightseeing events. We won't forget La, the English speaking young hotel receptionist who brought our breakfast every morning or Kameyuma the manager. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Nothing we did not like about the hotel. It could probably use a automated washer dryer for laundry but there was a laundry service nearby, so just a minor quibble..The hotel is perfect and I would gladly recommend to everyone.

The location is right on the river, very beautiful. Very close to a range of cafes/restaurants. We tried half a dozen different ones and loved them all. Great community feel, people were playing musical instruments and doing artworks along the waterfront. Walking distance to the Shimogamo-jinja shrine and the Imperial Palace gardens. Short train ride into the centre of Kyoto.

It is unfortunately next to the police station, so there is some traffic/siren noise sometimes.

Everything about our stay was exemplary. I had to make a last minute lodging change due to travel dates and decided after reading reviews to book our stay here. What a find! Perhaps we lucked out because It is away from downtown but don't let that deter you! We could easily make our way around as we were close to bus and train, and taxis are easy to find. A variety of food choices are also nearby (from FamilyMart, a delicious sweet shop (that always has a line!), coffee shop, and restaurants). We were thankful for the quiet stay after a very hectic Tokyo. In fact when we return we will most certainly stay here again. The staff was kind, warm, and attentive. The room was spacious. Beds a delight. Amenities were generous as bar and snacks were replenished daily and treats left for us as well. The bathroom was large, cosmetic and bathing and cosmetic amenities generous, water pressure excellent. Our very spacious and quiet room overlooked the river which we walked daily. I can't say enough good things about such a special locatio. We thank everyone at the Riverte Kyoto Kamogawa for a memorable stay.

Large and comfortable rooms at the top floor as we booked the compact room, with all the amenities you could wish for and many drink options in the mini bar that are stocked up daily. Location was really good. The best were the staff. Genuinely friendly and going above and beyond to help you, five star hotel staff. The bath was also a nice experience as there is a little window. To look down on traffic. As we were on the top floor, the common area terrace was right next to our room and we loved having a drink with city views.

The hotel is a small boutique hotel located by Kamogawa river, close to subway and Eizan railway. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and always willing to help. I have been to Kyoto many times but staying at Riverte Kyoto Kamogawa had definitely made this trip even more enjoyable and comfortable. The hotel provides different local sweets and snacks everyday in the room so it’s always a surprise what I come back and find. The amenities in the room is well equipped with superb quality. I would highly recommend this hotel if you’re ever in Kyoto and wish to stay somewhere away from the busy downtown. Look forward to stay here again in the future. PS. Crosta deliver my luggage to the hotel since I arrived very early in the morning. Then it’s hassle free to wander around without dragging the luggage to the hotel before check-in time. Can't decide which part of the stay was best, the whole experience was just absolutely amazing. The staff is the most kind, loving and helpful we've ever had the pleasure of being in contact with. The rooms are absolutely beautiful (we stayed in a Twin room and the Riverte suite) and the amenities accommodate nearly every need you have for a stay away from home. The skincare they provide from Mikimoto cosmetics, LOVE. The fact that breakfast is delivered to your room every morning makes the stay even more intimate. Also, everything you need (metro, train, convenience store, restaurants) is in walking distance from the hotel while still having the tranquil moments given by the Kamogawa river, the greenery and the mountains. We're looking forward to coming back!

That we needed to leave! For the guests that went on their website and see that they have a smartphone amongst there amenities, they no longer provide that service. So if you're only stay in Japan will be here, don't think you can dodge getting a Japanese SIM for your mobile data, get it the moment you enter Japan. ;)

This is an exceptional hotel in Kyoto, you get to experience the best Japanese hospitality. Such beautiful view of the cherry blossom trees along the river from the hotel room. Everything is well provided for in the room and local Japanese sweets are left on the coffee table for us to try everyday, it was so thoughtful. We absolutely loved our stay there. Highly recommend.

Nothing at all

Lovely boutique hotel with wonderful and very helpful staff. Very comfortable and well appointed rooms. Quiet and away form the hustle and bustle of the city. Near the river with a nice walking path. Easy walk to the bus station and very accessible by Uber. Would stay there again.

If I could give it 6 stars I would. we had a great room overlooking the river and cherry blossom (remember to boom a river view room, it’s worth it). service was outstanding and staff directed us to near by and distant restaurants and helped with booking when there was language barriers. Free excellent cold beer at the lobby. room was clean and lots of amenities including a Nespressp machine which was critical when waking up.

Beautiful location on the river with a nice shopping street and train station nearby. Staff were extremely helpful when we had questions about how to go see a baseball game in Osaka. Very attentive staff who even call the elevator for you.
