The guesthouse is literally 1 minute away from the famous Dogo Onsen and 5 minutes from transportation. Lots of shops, restaurants and sightseeing around. The guesthouse and the rooms are super clean just as the bathrooms. You have a big common area downstairs with free teas, coffee and cookies. You can also buy for a very cheap price cup noodles if you’re feeling lazy to go out. You also get free body soap and shampoo to enjoy the onsen! But the best part of the stay was Shumpei. He speaks very good English and he goes all the way out to make your stay the best possible. He helped me to get the tickets for the best baseball match I’ve ever seen.

My stay was too short even though I was there for 8 days. I would have stayed more!

Common area is great to meet and talk to other travelers and also to do your work. The location is good. Just a 2 mins walk to dogo onsen and there is a izakaya nearby Good for solo travelers and backpackers Note:there is no elevator so u have to carry your luggage and use the stairs. U can also use the kitchen and other stuffs at the common area. Free coffee and biscuits 🤗 Thank you shinpei!

Maybe i should say the smell of the room is abit off but you can manage when u are in bed and close the curtain.

Perfectly located in the touristic neighborhood, you can feel that the place has a soul and the owner will welcome you with open arms. You will find everything you need inside, if it's a short or a long stay. I was able to talk with the owner and he pointed to some cool places for the rest of my trip. Would 100% recommend !

Excellent location in the Dogo Onsen area, easily reachable by public transport. Easy to wander around the onsen village morning and night. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The dorms and facilities were clean, and I had a very comfortable stay here for 3 nights. There was an air humidifier in the dorm to combat the seasonal dry air. I found it easy to reach other sights by walking as well, such as Matsuyama castle and Ishiteji temple.

I had a great stay at the Cinnamon guesthouse. Shimpei san, the owner, is awesome. Smooth check-in, very helpful with all questions, very welcoming. The building is truly amazing - great architecture, lots of light, high ceilings, simply and well decorated with a look of cool things. The rooms are nice, beds comfortable, everything clean a quiet. Close to the famous Dogo onsen, restaurants, other sights. Fabulous and highly recommended.

Be sure to stay in this hostel during your stay in Matsuyama. The place is owned by a lovely couple and located right next to the famous Dogo Onsen in the Dogo district. Everything you ever wished to find in a hostel is here : - the owner is very helpfull and friendly - the place is well decorated and clean, with a cozy vibe - they have all the amneties - they sell cup noodle at very fair price, so you don't even need to go to the supermarket if you are hungry - they even lend shower pack to use at the Dogo Onsen 😭 A place I wish to stay another time when I will be back in Matsuyama

There is no laundry, but there is a coin laundry 5 minutes away 🙂

The staff are very friendly, it is right next to Dogo onsen. I came late and had a top bunk, I was offered a bottom for my second night, however I got back late again and they were all taken. Bit then, I was offered a private room. Lovely. Also the private room had the most comfortable bed I have slept on in 4.5 we eks in Japan. So if you are sick of sleeping on the hard japanese beds, give this place a try.

All was ok! If anything: some reading lights/ bed lamps near the bed… for when some want to sleep and some want to read. But that’s just a suggestion. It was a very good stay!

Location is superb. Owner is really nice, welcoming, and accommodating. I loved that he let me play his guitar for a bit- a nice treat when I’m away from home. There is a fridge available, bathrooms were sufficient, and the bed was just fine. The beautiful onsen is nearby and there are a number of beautiful temples within walking distance- as well as a small park with castle ruins. Definitely worth a stay in Dogo!

The staff is very helpful and friendly. Beds are comfortable and the common areas are nice and spacious. The location is also great, on a quiet street but still right next to transport and all the attractions in the Dogo Onsen area.

The common area gets cold quite fast in winter once the heating is turned off down on the first floor at around 10pm. Also the only bathrooms are downstairs.
