Unforgettable Stay in Hakuba! From the moment we arrived, the service was absolutely fantastic. Every staff member went above and beyond to ensure our stay was seamless and enjoyable. The daily morning breakfasts delivered to our room were truly a treat—delicious, beautifully presented, and the perfect way to start each day before heading out to explore Hakuba. Without a doubt, this is the best spot to stay in Hakuba. The room was fantastic. I stay at about 20 hotels every year around the world and this is the first hotel I’ve stopped to write a review since the service was so fantastic. We stayed here for 4 days skiing around the local area. I would 100% recommend this place to family and friends!

Everything really was great.

Beautiful French themed chateau, looked like a fairytale on the outside. Conveniently located bus stop that takes you to all the major Hakuba resorts for snow activities. Biiiig bathroom and two lovely private onsens in the basement you can book for an hour each evening with the front desk. Staff were attentive and helpful with deliveries of our snow gear. There’s a heated equipment room in the basement also with quick access to the outside for getting ready in the morning. Pricey French restaurant on premises with a bar and breakfast service options that we did not partake in. Parking out front of the hotel.

Byzantine maze path of getting to the rooms by going up stairs then down again. Beds were super hard compared to other firm beds I’ve slept in Japan and the sheets were very rough texture. Also the WiFi was unfortunately terribly inconsistent the entire time we were there. Even if you had a strong signal, the quality of the connection was barely usable to do basic web browsing or text. Don’t count on it for video calls. Inconvenient to get to and from the Hakuba Bus Terminal without prebooking a taxi or waiting a very long time for the V2 bus you have to walk to in Echoland that’s busy taking skiers/snowboarders to the resorts because they don’t have a ride service.

The service from the staff is exceptional. They don’t speak fluent English but they will do everything they can to accommodate you. I can see snowfields from my room, making breakfast extra special with a relaxing view. They have drying room for skis that are accessible from the side of the hotel. The cherry on top was access to onsen - the best way to relax after a long day of skiing. There are shuttle busses that will take you directly to Iwatake, Happo, and Hakuba47/Goryu as well.

The bed can be softer but I slept through the night just fine during my stays!

We loved our stay at Traumerei! The staff were so hospitable and helpful from the moment we arrived until we left. Our days started with a lovely breakfast delivered to our room and ended with a phenomenal seven course dinner in the restaurant downstairs. We were truly blown away with our stay at Traumerei, we will definitely be back!

Breakfast in the room was fantastic. The hotel was beautiful, amazing aesthetic and very comfortable. The staff were super friendly and very helpful. Private onsen was incredible after long days on the slopes.

The only very small complaint I had is that the pillows were quite thin and a bit too soft. Otherwise, Traumerei is amazing and I would recommend.

Breakfast was great, staff were courteous, and private onsen was fantastic. Shuttle car was provided, just had to call the hotel when arrived at the station.

No lift so luggage had to be carried up the stair to the first floor. Most of the surrounding restaurants required reservation but there was a 7-Eleven and a few food trucks in the nearby area.

- Lovely private onsen. - Comfortable room. - Beautifully decorated place. - Staff was helpful. - Location was good but you might need a car to get around. - Shuttle buses right in front of the hotel for skiiers.

- Breakfast was merely bread, juices and coffee. - The room could get really cold at night during winter.

* slow WiFi * unbelievably overpriced dinner * no outlet sockets near the bed * poor breakfast * no proper ventilation (apart from windows of course), CO2 levels were high (around 2000) * tiny bathroom

Everything about the stay was amazing! The hotel is super cozy with a traditional feel. The staff were AMAZING and made the whole holiday. They helped us with everything from hiring snow gear, transport and restaurant recommendations. They even gave us a ride into town a few times!!!

Bathroom- damp smell and water leak. 730 breakfast tight for 8am bus. It would be great to have 7 or 715 breakfast option.
