The hotel was very clean, well maintained and the staff were very friendly. They even prepared a little gift for everyone on Christmas day which was thoughtful. The onsen was small but adequate, and I loved the added touch of having several shampoos to choose from.

I would have loved to have a cold plunge at the onsen. Instead there was a puzzling container of lukewarm water which didn't really serve any purpose. It would have been better to have filled that with ice cold water so one could at least throw cold water over our bodies after the hot tub. Sure, we can just crank the shower to cold, but that doesn't really feel like the same thing.

The hotel and rooms were nice and new, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Being located right next to the train station made it very easy to get to/from the hotel, even with heavy snow about. The hotel’s restaurant was good and made it easy to sort meals given there aren’t a lot of options within walking distance in winter. The on-site laundry facility and vending machines were a great addition though.

Unfortunately we found the restaurant was closed on Sunday evening, so we had to try and work out an alternative for dinner after dark which was difficult with snow falling and a pregnant wife

We loved our stay there! The staff is very helpful, the thermal bath available in the hotel is very nice, the room was spacious and cozy, with a window outlooking the mountains. We also liked that the hotel encourages guests to choose eco-cleaning of rooms (without sheets replacements etc) by gifting soft drinks coins for the choice. We find full daily cleaning unnecessary and not environmentally friendly, so we appreciate the gesture.

We think this hotel would be great for car owners, not so much for train/bus-dependent people - with public transport it's rather hard/long to get to touristic attractions.

Bed is super comfy and the curtains blackout very well The room is as big as I need it to be and it’s nice to have a sofa, chair table setup so I can arrive late and snack. I’ve also eaten at the restaurant and it is quick and efficient. Breakfast you will see many people come down, I guess no one wants to miss out, it’s a decent selection and decent quality. The breads are still soft and the coffee wakes you up, that’s all I can ask for! It’s a little more premium in feel than the other one in the area. Including the plates and the environment. The parking as always is very convenient, well lit and well designed is perfect for when I need to make a last minute booking late at night. The entrance and exit to the car park means you quickly access your car as the entrance to the building is in the halfway point of the carpark, of which there are two, one carpark on each of the sides of the building. The checkin and checkout process is very fast and takes half the time of a high end hotel which I love.

I think there could be more snack options

Well located, clean & comfortable. Staff were excellent after we had difficulty with the woman at the desk the night we checked in. We extended to a second night because everything worked out . Staff & restaurant were very good.

The first night we had booked online and had to wait 45 minutes because the front desk person had not received confirmation. Ultimately had to book as if we were walking up & still aren’t sure if we were billed twice. We should have only a two-night charge on our credit card.

If you have a car, it's a nice central spot to travel to Nagano area ski fields such as Shiga Kogen, Madarao or Nozawa Onsen. They are all within an hour away.

The town's pretty dead. No convenience stores within walking distance. If you want to go somewhere more happening, Nagano is a 45 minute drive away.

Excellent breakfast, the best breakfast we had during our 2 week journey in Japan. Very functional room, good onsen, laundromat, ice machine , very clean, a lot of local restaurants around, big free of charge parking. Nice view from the window. Friendly stuff. Bottom line - excellent hotel for one night on the road.

The bed and the pillow were not so comfortable for me.

From the minute you step in it is fantastic place to stay, extremely professional and friendly people who are working hard to make stay as good as possible. Amazing food from breakfast to dinner, fantastic public onsen, good size rooms with top quality, very clean. Perfect stay.

That I have to check out and go home

Breakfast was fabulous - lots of variety. Everyone in our group was able to have a good breakfast. The rooms were very thoughtfully designed and comfortable for living in. Many small details together made this a great experience for us all.

I've been traveling for a long time. After a storm of crappy Airbnbs and mediocre hotels this place was really great. Comfortable, quiet, spotlessly clean with great service and amenities. The staff was superb in accommodating any requests. The Onsen inside is also very nice. I'll be looking for an excuse to come here again.
