The room interiors were very old fashioned but it was ok. The room was very clean with a comfortable bed. The location was great, just a few minutes walk to the station, restaurants and even the river side was in walkable distance. The breakfast buffet was really good. First, I thought everyday the same options will be boring, it was mainly japanese style. But everyday, there were new dishes to try! I really enjoyed the juices, salat bar and fresh fruits! There were also washing machines and dryers free to use (you can buy detergent for $80 at the reception). All staff was super friendly.

WiFi was not good. The room was a bit dark.

Your staff were so incredibly accommodating towards my two little boys The parking staff were very kind and patient, and there was one time when I had forgotten something in the car, the guy manning the car park machine was very kind to my wee boys: Very much appreciated. The housekeeping staff which in the majority seemed to be Japanese people (very surprising), were fantastic. There was a lady (with a ponytail and black rimmed glasses) that was very kind to my boys when I asked for a change of towels and to take away the garbage. Great breakfast, very Japanese style (the way I like it), and all the kitchen/ waiting staff were trying their hardest. Keep up the good work!! Your hotel is not exactly the flashiest, but your customer service is probably the best I've experienced of living in Niigata prefecture for the past 13 years. We really enjoyed our stay.

Please take the time to take care of scuffs/ marks on the bedroom walls caused by other guests' luggage, it's very unsightly. Please give some consideration towards getting some smart TVs! Those elevators are an absolute DEATH TRAP 🫣 very dangerous for small children. I understand that it's difficult to replace them without renovating the entire building, but a warning sign would be a good idea if you don't want to get sued: I almost lost my four year old about three times, and he was terrified. Isn't there a way to install some new sensors? There was a housekeeping staffing (Indian I guess?) girl that stank out the entire hallway even though she was in a room changing a bed: it's not difficult to have a wash with soap each day.

- The man who answered the phone and was working the front desk when we arrived was very kind. We were running about 10-15 minutes late for check-in due to some bad traffic, so we called ahead to check if there would be any problems. He assured us that it was fine and then gave very helpful directions to the cheapest parking lot nearby. Since we had arrived so late, we only had to pay for the price for under 12 hours, which was cheaper than expected. - You can comfortably walk to Niigata Station from here. - Apparently we got a free upgrade to our room, and it was more spacious than anticipated. The bathtub moved a little while I was getting out of the shower, but otherwise the room was good.

The location was close to the station and within walking distance to the town's main attractions, and I got a room that had a microwave and washing machine, which was incredibly convenient and made my stay very comfortable. It also had a VOD system, so it was nice to watch some English movies.

The bed was quite low, and the air conditioner unit was pretty noisy - nothing major at all. I was surprised by the reviews of breakfast; it was pretty standard for a Japanese hotel breakfast and had less than some of the other places I stayed on this trip. It was still good; it just wasn't as amazing as I was expecting based on reviews, and it would have been great to have bath salts/tablets included in the amenities like a lot of hotels in Japan provide. Overall, though, the value for money is great.

Juraku Stay Niigata is a convenient short walk from the train station. The room was larger than expected. The breakfast buffet was phenomenal and offered a wide selection of both Japanese and western cuisine. Despite being the cheapest of all the hotels I stayed at during my 2 weeks in Japan, it was the one which most surpassed my expectations.

The bathroom was a tad too short from someone of my stature (197cm), though it was still better than some of the other hotels I stayed at while in Japan.

the service was great. Hasegawa San and lijima san were very attentive and friendly.

the breakfast top-up service seem slow. I experienced a missing dishes always, at least during my stay. Sometime the main tray is not fill up when it's been empty for a while. The jam tray was empty too. Once it takes a while for the salad to be out.

Clean room, very kind and friendly and helpful staff

The room had a strange smell that I didn’t like and the room freshener didn’t help either. And the washing machines and dryers were really old and quite dirty - lots of sand and debris. I would rather go to the coin laundry than do it for free at the hotel.

The room was very spacious for a single room. The breakfast buffet was very complete. Close to Niigata station.

Travellers on a budget might find the breakfast a bit pricey at 1400 yen. It is very good and enjoyable, though!

Great having a microwave and washing machine in the room. Room was a great size.

No facilities to hang your wet washing as there was a track,no rail for the shower curtain to use. A clothes rail or hanger would really be useful for drying your washing.

Very conveniently located to the train station. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Place was super clean and provided toiletries. Breakfast was DELICIOUS - full spread. Will stay here again in a few days on our return. Good value for money.
