We had the best river view from our Japanese style room. The breakfast was great with many western and Japanese style selections. The private onsen was also great.

We booked the Japanese style room so we slept on the floor, the futon was kinda hard. From nearest station is about 15 minutes by foot no shuttle bus, they only had bus from hotel to station so it's kinda difficult to reach if you don't drive a car. We realised that the WiFi is only available at lobby floor when we arrived at the hotel.

The rooms where am amazing old school Japanese style but still had beds instead of futons, with a calming atmosphere.

Resteraunt options were all VERY Japanese (lots of pickled vegetables and such), and no wifi except in the Lobby.

Enjoyed stay at the suite with private outdoor hot spring. no need to use the public hot spring. having a massage chair was also good, especially after the bath.

No Wi-Fi in the room or any public area other than near the reception. My mobile roaming was not functioning so was a bit of a pain to visit Wi-Fi area each time I needed to do something on my phone…

Stayed in corner view suite with a view bath and the room, bath and view was superb. Food was great and the dining experience was just what we wanted in both of the two restaurants. I would definitely stay again

A bit of a wait for a taxi at the train station if you miss the hotel bus. Hire car is recommended to make access to all the spots easier. Nippon Car Rental at Nikko is conveniently located.

Everything was amazing! To start, the staff were friendly, professional, and helpful. The room was lovely and cosy with a beautiful river view as promised (during snow season this was especially impressive). It was nice to walk around the facilities comfortably in the provided yukata (Japanese loungewear). The included dinner and breakfast were delicious, nutritious, and generous (both were all-you-can-eat buffet style). Booking for the private onsen and other activities was easy from the front desk. The private onsen was incredible and just a short walk from the hotel. It's set in individual huts where two of the walls can be fully opened to the outside, in case you want the outdoor onsen experience. Late night table tennis back at the hotel was fun! The public onsen (within the hotel building) also had a beautiful view. Don't worry about setting up your futon bedding - the staff will have that ready for you when you come back from dinner :) It's worth arriving early (at check-in time) and taking advantage of all that this hotel has to offer.

The Häagen-Dazs vending machine on the ground floor was sold out :'(

The view is very nice from the hotel room and also from the Onsen. The dinner was also fantastic.

There was no real rest area near the Onsen, which a lot of other hotels usually have. The breakfast was better than average for Europeans, but still very Japanese (criticism on a high level).

This stunning hotel has a private onsen for rent in addition to its public pools for its quests (indoor+ open air with view, jacuzzi,sauna). They are also tattoo friendly! The rooms are traditional Japanese tatami and they make the beds/take them away for you. They have a game room (billiards, pingpong table etc). The dinner shabushabu was excellent!

It was a wonderful stay. We wish we could stay longer. Beautiful hotel with onsen. Delicious dinner and breakfast. Two thumbs up for their hospitality, cleaness, decoration, very polite and helpful staffs, good location and beautiful view. We could view the scenery from our room. Amazing.. We difinitely come and stay again next time. Thank you for your hospitality

Room was lovely, bath on the balcony. Bath was hot.

Some amenities were not up to date around the hotel. Wifi was only available for internet space near lobby. Buffet was good but some of the items were cold even under heat lamps. Staff were lovely and helpful

The property was aged, but the staff and management tried to make it comfortable and the services was surprisingly superb. The price reflected the dated property. But you came tell it was a very nice place back in the 90s, with Cathedral light coloured glass lobby to levels of restaurants. Unfortunately only 2 is operating nowadays.
