Overall, the facilities, Onsen, and the room was excellent. The view of the room stands out as the best feature. the room was clean and comfortable. Onsen was clean and outside experience was incredible. shuttle bus was helpful and convenient, This hotel was very quiet and peaceful, which is something we needed. Goof value for the money, we are coming back again.

The breakfast would be my only complicate during my stay here. The breakfast was very limited and only had a few things to offer. I really enjoy Japanese breakfast type but in my opinion the main dish was not very, one morning the lamb was poorly cooked and not good taste, and the next day had a poorly prepared main dish, very limited options and not prepared very well. The dinner offered did not taste bad but small portion of food and had no side accommodations with the main dish, i.e. good salad, or some fresh bread or something to complete the meal. Just the small portion of the main dish. and the desert that was over priced, and poor value for the money My wife and I went to the convenient store and brought cup noodles to complete our meal.

WE Toya went above and beyond in terms of service. They catered for pretty much every need we had (organising taxis, their shuttle service to Rusutsu and their willingness to adapt their Omakase to our dietary requirements). They were always friendly and courteous—and the reception staff spoke English very well. The hotel itself is perched up on a hill and rooms (and the onsen facilities) have an amazing view. The rooms are clean and spacious and the facilities are excellent.

I would recommend writing them ahead of time or calling them to understand if your needs are met. Going from their materials, it could be hard to understand which services were on offer. However, their service-mindedness starts well before your arrival, so make full use of this! Also be mindful that this is a somewhat isolated location, sitting at the edge of a village where the supermarket closes at 5 p.m. That's part of the charm, but if you don't have a car with you, you need to be on top of your logistics.

The view was great looking over the lake toya. Hotel staff who can speak Chinese really provided exceptional service and looked after us.

Lovely hotel. Definitely has the "premium" feel to it. Check-in was very simple, plenty of free on site parking available. Loved the curtains along the ground floor area. Dining area was very nice. Games room was a bit small, could have just done with the vending machines with nothing else. Onsen was quite nice. The outdoor bath tub on the balcony was quite different. Rooms were amazing. Loved the layout and the finishes

Hotel little bit far from the Toyako Visitor centre where it appears to be the main area of Lake Toya. Was a bit terrifying driving back at night after the 9pm fireworks near the Toyako Visitor centre

A nice buffet selection of traditional Japanese breakfast dishes. Very spacious rooms with a beautiful view. Good amenities with daily top ups and beautiful yukata changed daily also. The staff were friendly and the hotel was always cleans Dan quiet.

There weren’t many other dining options other than the restaurant at the hotel. Other restaurants were a 20 min drive away, which is not too bad, but the majority were closed (?due to winter?)

Everything. The staff are amazing, hospitable and go the extra mile with a smile. The views are breathtaking. The entire hotel faces the lake, and sitting on the large bed and looking out at the view was so relaxing. The onsen had an inside and outside bath, which we loved. The wooden bath outside every hotel room was wonderful. Soaking in the hot water while looking over the lake and up at the moon was magically. The food was delicious. Besides the breakfast, we also celebrated one of our birthdays at dinner at the hotel restaurant. The 7 course meal was absolutely delicious and fresh. And the cake platter was special for the birthday girl. The staff was very attentive. It was the off peak tourist season so the hotel was quiet, which we enjoyed as it felt like our very own paradise.

Suited right on the end the of the hill with an amazing view of Lake Toya. Building looks older but once you get inside to check in, we were quite pleasantly surprised. Staff greeted us as we pulled into the drive to offer to take in our bags. Had a great introduction and brief tour around the building. Room was amazing. Just as advertised with an amazing view of the lake from our room. A private bath on the balcony although it’s just hot water bath, not Onsen. The public Onsen was great. Two pools: one indoor and one outdoor. All you need for some relaxation. Overall, had a great stay and got more than what we expected. Thanks for the comfy stay!

We enjoyed our stay very much here. The facilities, including room, onsen, and restaurant, were fantastic and very beautiful. The room was spacious, and well equipped, which made our stay very comfortable. Staff were lovely and extremely helpful, including helping us contact local businesses for our needs. Staff paid close attention to detail, which enhanced our experience. The restaurant also catered for my dietary/allergy needs. The views from our place were exceptional, and we could see the beautiful sunrises over Lake Tōya from our room every morning. We would definitely stay here again next time.

The water supplied to our hot tub on our balcony was unfortunately not hot enough to use in the wintertime. Though we could use the onsen instead, which was lovely.

amazing view of the lake, quiet location breakfast was better than expected

bascially many people mention already, the location is inconvenient, the room design is unfriendly, the bath water in the room is not actual hot spring water the breakfast actually had raw salmon and salmon roe but the amount available is very small, like 5-7 spoons only each and refill time of them is very slow, makes you wonder why you pay so much for this

Extremely understaffed, as if three women ran entire hotel. Beds were hard (I like firm mattresses ) We made a booking on Booking.com last minute, they did not respond to Booking.com messages. I asked the front desk employee of the hotel we were to please call them. She said the hotel was closed until 1 PM. A $400 a night hotel doesn’t have anyone to answer the phone? So we took a $30 taxi, they actually close the hotel down in the middle of the day until 1pm- and don’t answer the phone. Thankfully an employee came out and let us store our luggage before the taxi left. No store within any reasonable walking distance. Not recommended if you dont have a car.
