I stayed in the club building with a private open bath in the room. In general the room was great! The private bath in the room was big enough for 2 people to have a comfortable hot bath with good view. The hotel is in a good location as it’s just very close to the pier of lake Toya and all of the rooms could view fireworks.

The dinner buffet was not too impressive. It would be good if a choice of Japanese Kaiseki dinner is offered instead of buffet.

The lobby and buffet area was stunning with the view of the lake. There was welcome berry drink which tasted not too sweet. Staff was friendly and greeted us when we checked in. Orchids lined the whole lobby and was gorgeous. Room had amazing view of the lake and it was cool how you can open window for the private onsen in our bathroom that has actual onsen water. The public onsens at facility were gorgeous as well since they had rooftop onsen so you watch the snow fall while you soak in onsen. There was also cool red onsen water that was downstairs as well. Buffet was delicious and had local Hokkaido ingredients and love they plate many things fresh and have freshly made juice they blend in front of you which was cool. I was able to have view of lake at table we sat at for breakfast and they gave scrunchies to help protect our sleeves for buffet. Ryokan was dog friendly so many cute dogs I could see on lower floor. Room was modern and spacious it was one of top ryokans we stayed at.

Location was isolated and they don't offer shuttle from toya station. It was also hard to get taxi in morning since they would be all booked up. The shuttle to Sapporo was booked up quickly so I wasn't able to use shuttle and had to book with limited express train to get to Sapporo.

Meals were good but no variation in any of the foods (and we were there two consecutive days). Great lakeside location. Reception and restaurant staff were all really helpful. Yamato luggage transfer is available. View from the 9th floor onsen is second to none - infinity bath great under the stars at night (and prime view of 8.45pm fireworks) and across the lake first thing in the morning.

Rooms were dated and tired. Our room was meant to have been cleaned but there was fluff everywhere. No USB sockets. No ice machine. They need to cover the ugly grey roof of the dining hall with greenery/planting as it is an eyesore and spoils the view from most rooms

1. We stayed in a room with the private onsen which offered a superb view of Toya lake and mount Yotei, which was an amazing experience. The room was 56 meters square, which was very comfortable. 2. We inform the hotel aboud our honey moon, they were so thoughtful in preparing the cute souvenir. They also took a photo of us, framed it, and later hang on our room door. 3. The fireworks were great, which we can enjoy from the room and also just in front of the hotel. 4. The hotel provided rental bicycle, we did cycling around the lake, super nice time. 5. Staying here in the time of full bloom cherry blossom is another level! 6. The breakfast and dinner buffet were amazing, lots of food and mouth-watering!

It would be better if the hotel has more pillow options, the pillow they provided was pretty hard and big, I got neck pain every nights. Some hotels they provide another kind of pillow e.g. softer version or the down pillow.

Some pros: - The property is located at the edge of the of shore and offers fantastic views of Lake Toya (all rooms are facing the lake) - The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle to/from JR Sapporo Station, or you may wish to take their shuttle to/from New Chitose Airport for 1000 yen. The shuttle must be booked in advance - The check-in/check-out experiences went very smoothly and although the staff are not 100% fluent in English, they tried their best to accommodate (please remember English is likely not their first language). My friend was seated in the lounge area while I checked in and a staff brought over a welcome drink and snack for us to enjoy - We booked a twin room with shower, and it was very spacious and clean. There was a seating area by the window with a chaise - The property had three onsens - two on the 9th floor and one on the 2nd floor. The onsens on the 9th floor includes an open-air bath with different designs and views; they are switched every day between genders so even if you stay one night, you will be able to try them both. The best time to go would be during the peak mealtimes or later in the evening - The breakfast and dinner buffets were great and had a lot of variety. The restaurant offers floor-to-ceiling windows. - We paid an extra 55,000 yen per person for a kaiseki dinner the second night and it was amazing. The food was delicious, and you get to try some local and seasonal ingredients in a different way - While there are no vending machines on the property, you can pick up snacks and beverages in the gift shop, or the 7-Eleven across the street. There are also a few grocery stores in the area - There is a path in between the shore and the hotel that connects all the resorts in the area. There are outdoor foot baths for anyone staying in the area

Some cons: - The wi-fi was spotty. I don't think the network was designed to support all of the guests being connected at once. It was better during the day when guests were out on excursions or have checked out. - The description of the shuttle pick-up point at JR Sapporo station was vague. It would be great if they have a designated kiosk or corner for guests to meet-up prior to boarding the bus. - It does not seem like they rotate the breakfast menus daily (there may be slight variations, but it is largely the same).

It has everything that a traditional onsen stay needs. Indoor and outdoor onsens, private onsens (for those that reserved more expensive rooms), breakfast and dinner included many dishes, and dairy Hokkaido products were amazing. Between meals and onsen, you can walk around Lake Totya. The view is great, and there are many places where kids can play in the snow.

If you did not rent a car, you need a taxi do go to the Toya train station. It would be good if the hotel offered a complimentary shuttle bus.

It was right next to the lake which was easy to walk to

I don’t know how they assign the car park lots. We paid the highest tier rooms and arrived on the dot at 3pm yet was assigned to a parking lot further away which required a shuttle bus. I think they just ask those who come early and appear to be cooperative to park further so that late comers can park onsite. Not very nice about that I think. People should be able to park onsite if they paid so much for a room.

Excellent service, from the moment of arrival, staff was waiting outside the entrance to greet us. Then to escort in to the Lounge to check in, along with serving refreshments. Once check in was completed we were able to go to our beautiful room, with an equally beautiful view. We watched the fireworks while soaking in the in-room onsen!

I was not expecting a "buffet" but, for a large resort, I understand what preparations and expense goes into creating an experience for their guests. Would have wanted an alternative food option.

The staff were some of the friendliest and most helpful I’ve met, even by Japan’s standards. They helped me book Taxis whenever I needed, arranged for a shuttle bus to take me to the station at the end of my stay, and were always available when you needed them. Amenities were refilled everyday (including the welcome treats!!). The onsen (indoor, outdoor, and traditional) were all clean and provided stunning views of the lake. The hotel itself is pretty close to major attractions (walking distance to the Lake Toya Cruise, 12 minute taxi ride to Lake Hill Farm and Lake Toya Ranch). Breakfast and Dinner served a really good variety of dishes. I particularly loved the Hokkaido dairy selections. When I stayed there, they provided special dishes for guests staying 2 days onwards, which was such a sweet surprise! There’s also a tax free shop called Select 108 attached to the hotel, and I found the prices of souvenirs there very reasonable.

The lighting in the room was a little dim, which gets kind of annoying during winter stays since it gets pitch black dark outside around 5 pm.

Check-in was very efficient and smooth. They assisted us with our luggage as soon as we arrived. Luggage was delivered to our room before we finished checking in. The room was clean, comfortable, and quite large for Japan. The onsen in our bathroom could accommodate my wife and I comfortably. The view from the room and onsen overlooking the lake was breathtaking. The French and Japanese kaiseki meals were very nice. The seating overlooked the main dining area with views of the lake. Breakfast buffet had a good variety of selections for various taste. The spa was clean, private, and the staff was very professional. The staff was always polite and helpful throughout our stay. We would highly recommend this resort.
