If you’re looking for budget accomodation in Rusutsu and your priority is location, this is a great choice. One of the closest possible accomodation options to the Rusutsu resort and ski slopes, just a short walk away. Also 5 minute walk to convenience stores. The beds are comfy enough, and the room was very quiet even with the restaurant and karaoke going on downstairs. Friendly staff. Only major downside is there is only 1 shower and 2 toilets for the whole hostel. But we just went to the resort and used the onsen every night instead of using the shower. Felt safe as a female traveller here.

Budget accommodation with the best location, what more can you ask for? It's in the same building, upstairs, of a izakaya, but I personally couldn't hear any noise from my sleeping box. It's a hostel with an upstairs area that's shared with maybe around 26ish max so it can be cramped, but again, for the price compared to everything else in the area, unbeatable when you walk a few minutes and you're at the lifts. The bed was pretty comfortable for me as someone who normally sleeps on the floor. A nice light in your quarters with a cover to your space, plenty of storage under the bunks for your stuff, a small locker/safe with a free key, gear storage can be tight if there are many ski bags, but there's a place to put it is all I asked. There's also a small lounge space with a fridge, microwave, and sink. No space for cooking, but you live off of 7-Eleven anyways so get with the program! The staff was always friendly even with the language barrier so thanks guys! Next time I go back to Rusutsu, I will definitely stay there again!

The property (As a solo traveller) is perfect, in comparison to nearby accommodation it is affordable, the staff are amazing and super friendly. The facilities for washing are a bit lacking but you can always use the resort facilities as a stop gap. Otherwise for the price and location of YOUTEI I would recommend it for anyway who would like to stay in Rusutsu for a longer period of time for a price that isn’t excessive.

The bed was super comfy and everyone was really quiet and respectful. The location is bloody great! So easy to access the ski hill and so affordable. FYI make bookings a couple days in advance if you want to go out to dinner.

There is only one shower room for the whole place and there isn't a proper door on the changeroom. There wasn't often lines but I did get walked in on once.

Youtei is great value and super close to the slopes. You have access to all the facilities of the main hotel just a 5 min walk away. The staff are great and I met a bunch of awesome people during my time there.

If you're not used to the traditional Japanese futon/pillow you might want to bring your own pillow.

It is a hostel experience. 1 bathroom and 1 shower for everyone (in separate rooms). Shower water runs hot. Wifi. Tapas type restaurant on 1st floor. Dinged 1 star due to mattress being so thin, it hurt my hip bones, as I am a side sleeper. Please add a little more padding for side sleepers.

Close to rusutsu resort so could go onsen after skiing every day. Close to slopes, close to 7/11 and seicomart! Friendly staff, nice food in the restaurant

The in house bar and restaurant serves good food and is convenient. The rest room with fridge and microwave lets you do food or breakfast yourself for cheap. Guests were considerate. There was adequate ski gear drying space, but could be more.

A creaking floor was noisy. Our heater played up needing a window opened. Thin mattress and pillows full of rice made for uncomfortable sleeps.

Still the cheapest place to stay in Rusutsu. Walking distance to the lifts. As it's a hostel, vibes depend on the people staying - quite a social crew this time was great as I was solo.

The izakaya next door gives a certain barbecue smell to the dorms upstairs...

Everything was cleaned everyday, was really nice for a hostel. Food and drinks reasonable prices and tasty.

Check in, is a little hard to figure out, but self explanatory. Bed may be uncomfortable if you have never had traditional Japanese futons before.
