September 2024

The size of the room was fantastic. It was for our last few nights in Japan and I did a lot of shopping. We had no problems with space in the room with our luggage. It was the biggest room we had in Japan. It was so great to have the option of 2 train stations. One station was super close to the hotel (the train going to the airport, so a HUGE plus!). The other hotel was part of Osaka metro, so on the weekends you could get a day pass for only 620 yen, which was a steal. Weekday pass is 820, so if you have 3 or more rides its definitely worth it. The all day luggage storage was a huge bonus for us because we had a 10pm flight, so it was great to be able to leave our luggage and explore for a day before heading out for our flight.

The breakfast area being completely closed if you didn't pay for breakfast. It was the location of the water machine and it was so annoying to have to ask or wait until 10am to have access to drinking water. When I looked at the hotel info, it stated there was an ice machine on the 3rd floor. I went to it and it wasn't there. There should definetly we more areas to access a water machine and not just the breakfast area.

The location of this boutique hotel is very near the Nankai Line train Kishinosata-Tamade Station, that connects to the Kansai International Hotel in less than an hour at 920yen. Another metro station is further away, ~500m and has better connectivity. This area is not as congested and very peaceful. We looked forward to the journey back to the hotel each time. We stayed at this hotel for 9 days (the price point was unbeatable!) as a base to visit Kyoto, Nara, Kobe and Himeiji. Our room size, 16msq was OK for Japan and we had 1 medium and 2 small suitcases. We had daily house keeping which was nice. The street is a covered street (I. E it won't gets wet if it rains) and lined with shops that sells sushi. It has a supermarket, a bakery and 2 other restaurants. On the way to the metro, you can find more restaurants (the yakiniku restaurant was awesome), McD and 7-11. Next to the hotel is a gated carpark... If not mistaken, 600yen per day. If we are to come back to Osaka, we will definately choose Bande Hotel OSAKA all over again!

The staff refused to help us made a call for reservation at a nearby restaurant that only accepts reserved booking. Since the hotel doesn't provide drinking water in the room, we were not allowed to get drinking water from the water dispenser when they are serving breakfast. The thing was, we go out from the hotel at 8am or 9am, and on the way out, we wanted to fill up our water bottles. So, that was a bit inconvenient...

Downside was that we couldn't get a double room so had 2 separate beds. Not a deal breaker but not ideal. We absolutely loved the variety of food for breakfast which was slightly different each morning. Location wise, it's out of the main Osaka hub a good bit but there is a train station across the road which gives you access to where you need to go. We ate in a really cool, local eatery a bit across the road from the train station. Had the best New Years Eve conversation with the chef/owner & a local via Google translate. The area is really quite with a very authentic Japanese supermarket down the road.

The rooms are tiny compared to what we are used to. Although all the hotels state "tea & coffee making facilities", unlike Europe, the tea, coffee, milk, sugar etc is not provided. Never fear, a vending machine offering delicious hot beverages is always near!

We loved how bright the entrance and lobby were. It was very inviting. The room was a standard size but it was spotless. We also appreciate the daily housekeeping. Heads up - staff will knock in the morning to check preferred cleaning time. We also loved the location of the hotel- it was very local, surrounded mom and pop stores, 24h grocery, & other stores. The subway was just 5-7mins and so was the Life Supermarket. Lastly we appreciated the breakfast area which was also a communal space you can stay and eat in. It had a microwave , ice vending and water dispenser. This was such a gem of a hotel considering the price! Will definitely stay here when we visit again.

I stayed in this hotel two separate times, for 2 and 3 nights respectively. The first time was my first hotel stay in Japan. The staff is very welcoming and helped me with everything I needed. Almost everybody spoke english. The room itself was spacious and very clean, Breakfast had a good amount of variety. Nothing fancy, but tasty. The hotel location was a good surprise. It's not in the city center but you can get there quickly by metro or bike. The area is not very touristic, so it was less crowded and felt very authentic. It has a lot of restaurants and stores closeby, good options for dinner on the days I decided to come back early to the hotel.

Nothing.

It took some time to find this area thanks to google map guided me the right direction. Coming from Tamade Station the walk took around 3-9min and very convenient spot for food restaurants, 7 eleven and so on which nice to grab some late snack or hot meal nearby. The staff are great some of them speak english fluently. And they are very helpful if you needed something. They are 24/7 front desk. We stayed for 6 nights it was the best place would definitely come back again :) Ps there is laundry that cost 500 yen for 2 hours wash and dry additional 100 yen for dry if its still wet no need to bring detergent. There are also near train station (2-5min walk) and that goes to Kansai airport (not directly) you have to hop off from Sakai station. Though the staff tried to help us how to get there but their guide seems confusing and bit outdated location. Just look up in Google Map to not get confused by.

Maybe we got unlucky to get breakfast time we bought ticket that cost 1300 Yen per adult. And they served in menu instead of buffet? I dont know whats the reason to it. But the menu was ok 7/10.

While a little way from the hustle and bustle of major tourist areas of Osaka, the hotel is conveniently located between 2 stations on 2 different train lines. There are convenience stores and a local supermarket nearby, as well as restaurants selling sushi and unagi during the daytime. The rooms are cozy and well appointed, and great value for money. Staff were friendly and will try thier best to assist you, even despite language barriers. And though Japan is generally a safe country, I did like that the hotel's main lobby kind of closed after 10pm, and only accessible via your key card or if the front desk let's you in (in the case of late check-ins). If the distance from Dotonburi is not an issue, would definitely recommend.

My only issue was that the aircon in my room was a bit finicky, but it works just fine after you figure out the quirks.

My favorite place we stayed at during our vacation to Japan and Korea. You get off the station and walk maybe 1 minute and the hotel is right next to a 7-11 which was so convenient. The staff is also so nice and helpful. There’s also the sweetest old man who owns a restaurant a couple streets over, everything is completely in Japanese but the food he made us was absolutely fantastic and I will remember it forever. Please make sure to visit him! Will add photo of google maps.

The rooms are a little small with 2 girls traveling with 6 suitcases. But that was to be expected haha.

We went to Osaka just for shopping before getting on plane on the next day. That's why we chose this location to stay, it is in the middle of the city and the airport. Takes around 50 mins train. The hotel is located in a local market, surrounded by meat shop, marts, fruits shop, flower shop. Quiet and safe neighborhood. Around 5-10mins walking to the train and bus station. The hotel is clean as a normal standard, room is bigger than some hotels. They provided breakfast, you just need to pay in the morning to enjoy it. Nothing special or surprise here, just a short stay option for getting on flight.
