I liked this hotel very much, on arrival it was a little out of the way from Shizuoka city. but the staff was very warm and friendly and helped us with our luggage and check in process was smooth. The room was huge and we loved the separate eating area and rooms. the projector was a nice touch and kept our family entertained. The bathtub was huge and we loved that we could open the door so it was not too stuffy. The wooden tub is a nice touch. Breakfast was amazing and well thought of with all the local dishes and everything was prepared in the room. Overall a wonderful stay with a peaceful and beautiful location!

The architecture was beautiful with a blend of traditional wooden pieces and modern appliances. The breakfast we were served was truly one of a kind with beautiful fresh produce used from the local area. The staff who prepared our breakfast were also very kind and explained each element of the dishes to us. The house was very spacious and comfortably fit our family of 4 and we all enjoyed wearing our complimentary yukata pyjamas. There were both beds and futons available which was also nice. The amenities provided were of a very high quality and we particularly loved the facemasks and haircare.

Location was great for us especially as we had a car. Loved the breakfast. I normally don't sleep well at hotels because windows are normally closed and we're forced to use the hotel's aircon/heat system. However, this felt just like home, we had a lot more control over the comfort level compared to a regular hotel. The kids had a great time because of the increased amount of space.

I understand Nihon Iro wanted to be a bit different, so they installed a projector system instead of a standard TV. This we didn't like because the lights need to be off completely to watch TV, so the kids wanted to watch then the adults can't really do other things though when the lights are off. Also because of the timing, the great small shops that are part of the complex were closed when we arrived, so we could not enjoy as much of the facilities as we wanted. Despite these two issues we still had a great stay.

The property was beautiful and the surrounding area was even more so. The staff could not have been more helpful, giving us a ride to/from the onsen as well as the train station in the morning and gave us recommendations on the best places to go in Mochimune. Communication was great, even when we spoke very little Japanese they were extremely helpful. Would recommend this for anyone who wants to escape the busy cities for some peace by the sea.

We felt very welcomed by the staff and the place is located right by the beach. The house was well equipped and I loved bike riding around the neighborhood. Breakfast was prepared each day by local women with a lot of care. The only note would be to consider having a menu that could be adaptable to the guests taste. We also loved the pijamas hahaha and wished they were available for purchase.

It was an “adapted” house, but my mom felt that the ramps they built for the wheelchair were a bit narrow. Otherwise, the bathroom and the room were spacious.

forgot to book the breakfast but the facilities was superb. the have small kitchen just nice for us. very recomended for family and muslim to stay because u can cook your own food. love the onsen so much. we enjoy walking by the beach walking distance from our stay. sunrise is the best there.. they even have projector to watch tv. the bed is so comfy if u come with large family they also provide futon. they dont have iron but the staff was so kind to lend me their own to help me. they also give free bike rental if u want to go to the onsen.

Very cozy, nicely renovated Japanese house with modern and brand new appliances. Fantastic, home made Japanese breakfast and great service.

The reception was not very easy to find.

Cute townhouse with all of the amenities that you could ever ask for! We loved the staff as well as the traditional breakfasts. HIGhLY recommend the traditional meals!

There were quite a bit of bugs which we understand were probably unavoidable due to the weather

very well maintained, the place is probably very well insulated, as there only 3 air conditioners blasting hot air in the big house, yet we didn’t feel chilly at all. The staff were extremely helpful and we felt very welcome. Hattori-san also offered great suggestions for food and helped us order sushi from the nearby sushi restaurant when I told her we did not have a local number. The highlight was the Japanese style breakfast which was prepared at the house we were staying by two lovely chefs, in the morning. it was a such a spread and we thoroughly enjoyed it!
