This was maybe the best hotel I have ever stayed at. The hotel staff were super kind when I made a booking mistake. The Autumn views of Mt Fuji in December are stunning. Don't miss dinner at the Garden Lounge. The Chef is exceptional. We had 2 dinner courses, one with fried shrimp, which was delicious, and the other was the chef's recommended dish which was a crispy pan fried fish. This was magical. I have no idea how he did it. You could barely see what coated the fish but it was so crispy and the flavor was incredible. My daughter loved her seafood pasta. It was all perfect. The breakfast buffet was also incredible with a particular nod to the panna cotta.

Could not say a single negative. This was amazing.

This was my second visit and I wish the hotel would market to Oceania visitors as it’s truely an amazing location and experience that I know other travellers from downunder would love. Hotel provides a free return shuttle from Shizuoka Station to the hotel which we used twice during our stay. The hotel also offered a free ride to and from the ropeway which was a nice bonus. Staff were very professional yet accommodating during our short stay.

Dining is very expensive and no cheap options but this is a luxury hotel after all!

Loved the free shuttle from the train station and back. Beautiful hotel with stunning views of Mount Fuji, from both the room, lobby and restaurant. Breakfast was $40 each and worth every penny! Dinner prices were out of our league at the main dining rooms, so we ate ate the off site restaurant which was affordable and the food was excellent.

We should have booked two nights instead of one.

Everything about this hotel is exceptional. First, the room is huge by any standards. Plenty of room for luggage, a desk to work at, a coffee table to enjoy afternoon tea at, a sofa and padded chair - and two very large twin beds with down comforters. The bathroom is roomy and the glass enclosed shower/bath area prevents steam from clouding the mirror in the dressing area. There are plenty of towels and toiletries which get replaced everyday. There is a coffee service as well as a tea service so you can have endless cups of coffee or sencha. The refrigerator is well stocked with refreshments you can buy. The northern wall of the room is all glass with a door that leads to the balcony. Mt. Fuji in its stunning presence, although not snow-capped, was a delight to see all day long. The hotel sits atop a hill surrounded by a peaceful green expanse. At night time, the lights of Shimizu port twinkle like Christmas lights. The staff went above and beyond to provide us with newspapers in English every morning, drop us off and pick us up at the Kuno-zan ropeway which took us up to Tokugawa's shrine, and track down information about various things for us. They were patient and helpful never making us feel inadequate with our lack of knowing the Japanese language. We appreciated the shuttle service from the hotel to the Shizuoka JR Station and back at various times during the day so that we could make JR reservation and venture out to various spots in the city. The Fukian dinner was superb. Each dish was artfully presented to admire before tasting the delicious creations. The two hours we spent dining with friends over this meal will be remembered forever.

We didn't like leaving the hotel for our next destination. I would have liked to have stayed a full week.

Although Fuji-san was shy in our 2 nighter, the hotel is still a very good stay with amazing views of Shizuoka city. We had a wonderful dinner with great service at Garden Terrace. View sunset from nearby walking-distance Nihondaira Yume Terrace

Could have an earlier shuttle bus . The earliest departing hotel was at 10am.

Had dinner for two days. It was excellent. Had French food and teppanyaki. Staff was professional and friendly.

Didn't like the driving through the winding road to get to hotel. Felt it was a bit dangerous especially going back in the night. It will be great to have street lamps.

Reception - attitude to actively solve the problem, Excellent service mind. Breakfast - not very many but moderate and delicious food, great view of Mt. Fuji, friendly staff. Tip - Nihondaira sake sold only in restaurants is very nice. (It goes well with night view of shimizu harbor)

- Great view of Mt. Fuji inside the room - Room is clean and spacious - Bathroom is beautiful and spacious - Even provide two different type of pyjamas as options. - mini bar provided different kind of coffee drip bag and tea.

Location is a bit far from the town, but it will not impact much if you have rent a car.

The property itself is beautiful. We enjoyed the views of the city and saw Fuji San at night. During the day there were clouds but I can imagine eating at the buffet with the massive window with that view with or without Fuji San.

The property was further away from the train station and situated on top of a hill so we had to take a taxi.

Very nice big rooms and hotel oversees beautiful bay of Shizuoka.

Distance as isolated at the hill area. Our room was not facing the Mount Fuji also unfortunately the weather was misty and we can’t see Mt Fuji from the lobby viewing area too!
