It’s within walking distance to most tourist attractions, restaurants, bus interchange and train stations. The rooms are big, comfortable and have great amenities like well-decked kitchen. Netflix and YouTube kept the children and elderly entertained. The washing machine and dryer are fast and efficient.

The steps between the entrance and lobby are challenging if the hotel staff didn’t help us to carry our luggage. Parking will be an issue if you rented a car.

It’s very near the station just a 2 minute walk. A convenient place with clean facilities. The staff are friendly and helpful, even prepared what a traveler needs beforehand. The breakfast is also good value.

They don’t have any elevator or escalator from the ground floor to the first floor, where the front desk is. However the staff can help carry luggage.

The hotel is 2 minute walk from Takayama JR Station and Takayama Bus terminal, so you can use it as a base to travel to Shirakawago, Toyama or Kamikochi. Most attractions in Takayama are 10-15 minute walk from the hotel. Spacious room, helpful and friendly staff, a variety of free drinks in the fridge, well-equipped kitchen, a dining table, great breakfast. I stayed in 4 hotels during this trip in Japan, and this is the best one!

Really great hotel, in front of the JR station, close to the town, there is a whole set of cooking utensils in the room, you can take care of three meals a day, next door to the hotel is a beef specialty store，Beer, juice, and mineral water are all free in the refrigerator, and oil, salt, and pepper are thoughtfully prepared. Will come again next time，Staff are friendly, smiling and enthusiastic about service

This property was so spacious and comfortable. It was lovely to have room for our suitcases and a table and chairs to sit at. The bed was also very comfortable. Service within the hotel was excellent and the breakfast very good and included in our price. Coffee and saki were available on a help yourself basis all the time. We also used the communal laundry which was not busy and included washers and dryers. The location was very convenient for the train station and the bus station and surprisingly quiet considering it’s proximity to both.

I couldn’t find anything to complain about. One consideration is that there is a single flight of broad stairs to get to the hotel reception which could be an issue for people with mobility issues. However, the staff offered to take our bags down to the street level for us and I’m sure they would also help with bringing them up to reception if required.

This is our second visit to relax hotel as we enjoyed our visit 18 months ago. It’s just a 3 minute walk from the Takayama station and a short flight of stairs to reception. The room was very spacious with a kitchenette. It has Netflix which was a bonus for us. Our room had complementary drinks in the fridge. The espresso machine on the ground floor is available 24/7. The staff kindly made dinner reservations for us as it was the Spring festival and most restaurants require a reservation. The breakfast is generous and the freshly made Japanese pancakes were delicious. My only suggestion would be that they not replace the slippers every day, it seems wasteful. Especially as there is a sign in the toilet asking us to save toilet paper. We didn’t need new slippers each day.

Love it. So close to the train station. It’s just cross the road and it’s quiet . Staff super supportive and it’s there nearly 24/7. All speak good English. The place is really spacious room and bath room . Very clean. Most important with. Tent. Kids love it. And has a popcorn machine . If I go back takayama, I will live there with family again. It has Netflix and YouTube. Very good when you travel with kids. Free drink in the fridge , nice coffee bag. Washing cloth and dry cloth is free. The drier is really good, you will not end up with half wet clothes to pack in suit case .

Relax hotel is just a 3 min walk across the Takayama station and 10 mins away from the old town. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. What we truly liked about this hotel is the room. It is very spacious, comfortable and most of what you need is available in the room. Ours came with a section where you can do an indoor camping that comes with a projector as well as BBQ utensils/equipment. We opted to cook in our room as it is equipped with a stove and a portable grill. The room comes with breakfast which was simple but good. There’s a laundromat which is free btw. Housekeeping will also clean your room daily per your request. All in all, one of the best hotel we’ve stayed in during our trip to Japan.

It's a great place to stay, the staff there is amazing. They'll go over and beyond to make your stay as pleasant as possible, with friendly vibes. I found the location very convenient close to the bus station but also from the city centre. The room was spacious and the bed was of good quality. This was the end of my trip to Japan and the staff was for me the highlight of my stay, I have rarely met such dedicated professionals. The Breakfast was super good! don't miss the pancakes.

I thought it was lacking of atmosphere, I didn't meet any travellers, there was no common space apart from the cafeteria. I chose a hostel to meet other travellers but this was not the right place for that. My room lacked a bit of natural light, but it was still very nice and comfy.
