The hotel is modern and located very conveniently at the fringe of the old town. We drove and there was free parking right in front of the hotel which we could reserve for the entire stay by placing a cone on it when we drove out. How cool was that? The breakfast was great. There was free flow of coffee and tea all day at the lobby. There was also complimentary ice popsicle outside the onsen and soup for supper. We had dinner at the restaurant on both nights as it was raining. The food was great and value for money, even cheaper than eateries in town. Also, the staff was very nice and spoke at least a bit of English. In any case, there were lots of signs in English to guide us.

The room was clean and well furnished but a wee bit small. Hardly enough room for two medium sized luggages. We booked the twin room.

I like the location, about 300 metres walk from Takayama station and bus centre where you go to take buses to various sightseeing spots. The free supper was also delicious, breakfast was not bad, beds were comfortable and bathroom was spacious by Japanese standards.

The onsen was natural but it's way too hot and not comfortable to soak for long. There are only 1 washing machines to serve 7 floors of guests - not enough. I had to wait for 40 minutes in person just so I could use it. The bedroom was a bit small but can still accomm 2 half open medium sized luggage s. I booked it during peak season. If cheaper it will be better value.

Booked this hotel on a whim only shortly before arriving in Japan, and only had the chance to stay in Takayama for one night. The hotel itself was great: nicely presented, welcoming, with comfortable rooms, and conveniently-located just five to ten minutes from the historic area of town, with plenty of restaurants even closer than that. I just wish I'd made plans to stay there longer! Ultimately I only arrived in the evening (winter weather can affect how long it takes to get to Takayama, especially by car) and had to leave early the next morning, but if I return to Takayama, I'd certainly stay here again.

Easy location to walk to after a stiff and cramped bus ride from Kamikochi. Walk along Ekimae Chuo Dori for a quieter route to Hommachi Dori shopping, Jinya-Mae morning market and the Old Town area. More food choices too since one can easily get to the stores around the JR station. Also easy intro to Onsen bath (the hotel's top floor bath gives different view of Takayama town early mornings and at sunset).

Too many large tourist groups who don't forward their bags and chatter loudly. And only tourists are crowding the dinner joints early. (Plan to have late afternoon snacks and have dinner later is a saner choice.)

The hotel is in good location and to the Miyagawa morning market just takes 10 min walking. Hotel even provides delicious chazuke at night for free. That’s wonderful for the customers who might feel hungry at night. And the price is relatively acceptable for most of the travelers.

It’s a bit inconvenient if you drive a car to there, hotel doesn’t provide their own parking space. However , very close to the hotel is a private parking space for those who need a parking space, and it charges 1100 yen per day by requesting front desk reception.

Location: Very close to the station about 5 minute walk, which was nice because the area was experience heavy snow fall. You can access all the major sights in Takayama such as the Morning markets and the old town via a short walk. There are a lot of food spots around the area. Stay: Check-in was easy, staff spoke good English. They stored our luggage because we arrived before check-in time. Rooms were spacious enough for 2 people, had no issues with the size. The breakfast had a good selection of food western and Japanese.

Clean and spacious room. Free onsen at 9th floor with amazing view in common room. Friendly and ready to help staff. Excellent location - walking distance to the city center and connections by train stations/Nohibus (3 minutes walking).

The bed was a bit small ~ 140 cm for two average people (1,60 and 1,75). Cotton pyjamas were included but they had a strong perfume smell and I couldn’t wear them unfortunately. Loud group of Chinese tourists that made their presence remarked in the lobby and onsen during our stay.

This hotel exceeded my expectations and I would thoroughly recommend it. Lovely communal area with drinks, the spa area was great and we enjoyed the massage chairs and the view from the lounge by the spa, with free ice cream! The view from the room was pretty and the hotel was set in the perfect location not too far from the train/bus station. I would definitely stay here again. The room was a good size too.

Marvelous hotel in the best location and super friendly and helpful staff! The room was pretty big compared to hotels in Tokyo, and they had no issue giving me an extra pillow when I requested one. The onsen on the top floor was also amazing - they do allow small tattoos (like, max 6 in/ 15 cm), but if you’re supper inked it’s a no-go (never hurts to ask, though). The morning buffet was tasty and very easy. Would absolutely stay here again, in a heartbeat.
