Typical Japanese small room, exceptionally clean and quiet. The hotel staff is EXCELLENT, as they really go above and beyond. Nice room layout, with AC and humidifier. Bathroom was nice as well. The one thing that is very different from most Japanese hotels is the in-room massage chair. Although the massage chair was nice, and not too difficult to operate, it is very small, and as such, it doesn't fit larger westerners very well. I also really liked the reasonably priced breakfast buffet (1200 yen), which had both Japanese and western breakfast options. There was also a very nice selection of drinks, including coffee, specialty coffee drinks, tea, and juice. They also have soda on tap available 24/7.

The AC was very confusing to operate. The AC controls are in Japanese, but typically I'm able to get things operating easily enough with Google Translate. For some reason these controls were very finicky, such that I had to ask for assistance from hotel staff to get the AC to turn on the first time. The staff was excellent, opened a window to help cool the room down quickly, and was able to get the AC running (once it got up and running the first time, it was very easy to operate from that point forward).

The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to assist with any requests. The room was spotless and surprisingly spacious, especially considering Japan’s typical hotel room sizes. It was well-equipped and very comfortable. The location was another highlight—just a 5-minute walk to the train station, making it super convenient for getting around. At the same time, it’s not in a heavily crowded area like some prime districts, which made for a more relaxing and enjoyable stay. One of the best features was the onsen and sauna. The facilities were clean, well-maintained, and a perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. Overall, this hotel offers great value, comfort, and convenience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful yet accessible place to stay!

I enjoyed a pleasant stay in this hotel. The location is convenient. The staff are friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed. The hot bath is welcome. The various cosmetics and accessories are appreciated, as are the free gratis deserts from the nearby bakery, tea, coffee and drinks. The choice of tv programmes is limited. It would be nice if the hot bath remained open beyond 12 midnight to 1.00 or 2.00am. The room size for a standard single room is adequate, with a comfortable double bed. Overall, a good hotel to stay in.

Second time staying at this hotel , absolutely LOVE the location . Minutes away from train station , tons of food nearby along with shops , lively at night without being noisy . There’s a lovely bakery at the bottom of the hotel .

Slight smell when we first walked into our room . Nothing too bad . Could definitely tell it came from the bathroom . The only complaint would be that it takes taxis/ubers quite a while to get to this location because of the amount of foot traffic in the area. So make sure to plan for rides a good while in advance.

I was so impressed by the cleaning staff! The room was really clean, and the bathroom was immaculate. They were friendly too. :) There were free amenities in the lobby, even face lotion, which a lot of hotels don't offer. The free drinks and desserts in the evening were so nice! It was my first time staying in Kitasenju, and I would definitely come back. It was a lively neighbourhood, and we really enjoyed our stay.

I think smart TVs would be a great improvement, or even just having a streaming device like Chromecast.

I spent an enjoyable time at Hotel Coco Grand Kitasenju. It was relaxed, peaceful and personable. The atmosphere was pleasant, friendly and calm. The standard single room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. All the usual accessories you receive in a Japanese hotel. The public bath was a welcome facility, although the midnight closing time does put pressure on you to return in time to the hotel to avail of it. The breakfast was simple, more on the small side, but adequate if you are not one for having a large amount of food early in the morning. I really liked the free availability of deserts, confectionery and beverages throughout the day. This was a nice touch, typical Japanese in quality and presentation, and satisfied many a hunger pang. I found the staff to be always helpful and considerate. As I stayed local for much of my stay, the easy accessibility of the hotel was a big plus for me. I loved the older, traditional, less rushed, less touristy and friendly culture of Kitasenju, and the hotel provided the perfect base for me to immerse myself in this wonderful district of Tokyo.

Room was very clean, excellent shower and of course - bidet! Staff was very friendly and accomodating, breakfast very good too. Very close to Kita-Senju metro station - 5 minutes walk. Fun neigborhood with plenty places to eat. Overall - we were very pleased with this hotel.

The room was tiny but then it's probably very common in Tokyo? And kind of far away from all the attractions. However, if you get a metro card, navigating the city is pretty easy.

Brilliant location within 5 mins of Kita-Senju station and plenty of choices for food and drink in the immediate area. Complimentary soft drink and juice as well as free Highball Nikka Whiskey from 5pm till 8pm along with beer is a welcome surprise! Decent Wifi and the non smoking rooms were given as requested. The massage chair in the room also came in as a welcome surprise and was definitely a useful feature after a full day of exploring Tokyo.

As a westerner, not use to being asked to be naked to use a public spa or sauna lol

We loved this hotel in Kitasenju. The little shopping street was so cute and had a really good coffee shop, which is something we found special. We needed to go to Chiba very early in the morning, so this location was super convenient for us. The bath was an added bonus! I got to have a bath while using the laundry machine in the women's onsen area. That was convenient!

The staff members are very helpful and friendly, and the hotel makes good effort to keep their services to the standard despite inconvenient COVID measures.

Breakfast during weekday was not as well run as that on weekend. During our 7-day stay there, the coffee machine had problems twice, one for empty bean hopper and another for empty reservoir. This seems a minor hiccup, yet it only happened once during our many previous stays (since 2013) at the hotel. Besides, there were times when obviously there were not enough food for the guests in the breakfast room. The staff in charge of the breakfast room now did not seem to be as competent as those before. I really hope to see the breakfast room to be in the good hand again because it helps us to start a day with a happy stomach and mood.
