This is my second time staying here. Great location, accessible between both narita airport and the main lines with only around a 10-15 minute walk from each. Facilities were mostly convenient, towels were provides and rules were easy to understand.
I didn't know I was getting a room with a bunkbed-only setting. I don't normally have a problem with that, but there was no light switch accessible without going down the ladder, and there are no consents (electric sockets) near the bed. Only a minor inconvenience though, still very good value for money.

I usually stay in Ikebukuro when I come to Japan, but the place I normally stay at was full. I was shown this place for a reasonable and fair price on booking.com. Everything is mostly shared, it's got a washer, dryer, shared bathrooms, two showers, AC units, and even wifi. I booked the smallest possible room, and it is small, but you get what you pay for, and I honestly didn't mind. There's a small TV, a foldable table, a small mirror, and a little dresser to place your belongings when it gets backed up. The walls are very thin, so you can hear everything going on, but if that doesn't bother you, then this could be your next place to stay. If it does bother you, they do offer free earplugs upon arrival. Another very small thing too is that the wifi can be inconsistent at times, and when you shower, you have to constantly turn the shower off as there is a limit. I personally didn't mind since I had a pocket wifi and I try and limit my water usage, but just a small little thing to consider. The staff was also very accommodating, spoke very good English, and they even accepted packages when I ordered mail. It's got a computer, a fairly spacious recreational area, and I met some pretty friendly people during my 2-3 week stay in this hotel. Something that I do appreciate is that they give you a passcode outside of business hours so that you can stay out late and go out unlike some places with strict curfews. I'd recommend this for budget travelers who don't mind sharing bathrooms and showers with other travelers. Thanks again for making my stay so memorable. I definitely would like to book with you guys again.

What is this hotel for? This hotel is for backpackers that want a more comfortable experience and room of their own with a key and that comfort and security is better than anything else. You also 2 showers that are shared that can be used anytime and a kitchen which is the same but past midnight you need to keep quiet. You get a Japanese bath also which can be used after 18.00 to around 22.30 and you need to write your room number to enter it. I was going to use it on my last day but I got home too late. You also get a washing machine and dryer that you need to pay for. It’s 300 yeah for the bundle. You get a eating area where you can meet other guests which has a TV and a computer you can use. If you stay for longer than one night you get the Wi-Fi which has decent speeds. Your room is equipped with a bed, bed side table and a TV. At least this is the case for the solo room. You also get an Ac which I used all night haha. This is hostel in all the sense of the word with your own room which makes it a hotel. You won’t get the hotel experience here but better than a capsule hotel for sure. One plus is that you can enter the hotel whenever and when you arrive very late you get a code so you can enter. It’s a little bit of trust to the guests. You also get slippers which you can use, two towels for the shower and shampoo, conditioner and body soap are in the showers. The Japanese bath does not have any but you can buy from the staff. The location can perhaps be a problem but if you are an anime fan like me Akihabara is a direct metro away from Minami sen-ju. It is very close to the hotel. If you want to do somewhere tho I would say it will take at least one hour to get somewhere. So be ready for that commute time. I like walks so I explored the area and it was fun. Last but not least to get food, I did not eat at any restaurants close to the area but a lot of super markets and konbini do exist. Close to the hotel you have a super market and a seven eleven.
Normally the hotel changes bed sheets everyday but here it is not. Its not necessarily a bad thing. If you want complimentary food you won’t get that either and you have to fend for food yourself. For backpackers this hotel is a 10, while a person wanting a hotel experience I would not recommend it. I love it myself as I normally just sleep and go out.

This is my third stay at Hotel Meigetsu, and once again, it did not disappoint. The owner/staff kindly upgraded my room to the first floor with a spacious bed and a convenient location near the exit. My stay was very comfortable—the bed was cozy, phone signal and hotel Wi-Fi were both strong, and complimentary UCC coffee was available and tasted great. The hotel provides bath towels, shampoo, and body wash. The shared private restroom was clean and well-ventilated with an exhaust fan, ensuring a fresh atmosphere. A 7-Eleven store is just nearby, and both train stations are around 700 meters away—about a 10-minute walk. The pathway from the station to the hotel is pleasant, and the area feels safe and peaceful, as it’s close to schools and upscale residential apartments.
Since many guests come from different parts of the world, it's not unusual for some to be awake even around midnight. A few guests can be quite loud when walking, especially those who aren't mindful of keeping quiet. However, this is not the hotel's fault—just a matter of some guests being inconsiderate. If you're sensitive to noise, feel free to ask the hotel staff for earplugs.

Great place for the price, decent size single room with air con, very quiet at night, very friendly and helpful staff, neat and clean. To get to Minami Senju train station and shops it was an eight minutes' walk, it also had a convenience store and a little bar with a two-minute walking from hotel. The shared amenities were clean and never too busy. Overall, it is a perfect place if you are travelling solo, if you have a short stay in Tokyo, want to be out and about during the day and have a place to relax at night and recharge for the next day I would definitely recommend it.

Staying here felt like visiting family in Tokyo—warm, welcoming, and comfortable. The facilities were impressively comprehensive, especially considering the budget-friendly price. Everything I needed was available, making my stay both convenient and enjoyable. I’ll definitely consider booking again the next time I visit Tokyo!"
The location is still within walking distance of the station, but it’s relatively far, which might be inconvenient for travelers relying on public transportation. The walk can feel long, especially if you're carrying luggage or arriving late at night, and may require a taxi or bus for added comfort. That said, the property itself is well worth the visit—just be sure to plan ahead for the extra travel time

Getting a private room with an AC unit so you can control the climate for this price is a great value. The staff is kind, friendly, and helpful. Offering a bath in the evening is a nice touch, too. In terms of location, it's nice to wake up in the morning and easily head for a jog on the river path. It's a clean, quiet area.
The location isn't great for sightseeing. There's nothing to do or see in the immediate area. Even dining options are scarce. It can take a while to get to other places in Tokyo, too. One of the showers wasn't working when I was there, but luckily I didn't have to wait long for one of the other two to open up.

Despite the fact that the bedrooms are quite small, I was very satisfied. It’s really suited for people traveling alone or for work. I stayed for more than 15 days, which might be a bit long for those who want to visit Tokyo every day, as Minami-Senju is a bit far from the city center. Since I used to live in Japan, I didn’t need to travel daily, so it was perfect for my needs. I stayed in the common room, but I rarely crossed paths with other travelers, so if you're looking to meet people or make travel friends, this might not be the ideal place. Overall, I was very satisfied with Hotel Meigetsu and will likely choose it again for future trips to Tokyo.

I liked the private bathhouse, it was a nice and unique experience. The neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful. The staff were very nice and accommodating, especially the staff member who helped us check in and carry our luggage to our room. I also rented a yukata which was very nice and affordable! There is a 7-11 very close by which was convenient to get snacks and supplies from, and the train and nearest bus stop were not too far away.
This isn’t the hotel’s fault, but sometimes there was pee on the bathroom floor late at night due to other guests, but it was always cleaned up quickly. The rooms were a little small, but that is normal for Tokyo. It would have been nice to have more hooks to hang things from or shelves in the room to have more storage options in the small space!

The location is close to the Minami-Senju subway station on the Hibiya line, which provides quick access to the center (an essential connection given the distance between the hotel and the main attractions). A very quiet residential neighborhood with various services nearby. The staff is very friendly and speaks English. The facilities are simple, clean and sufficient for those who want a good resting place. The price-quality ratio is excellent. I would stay here again.
Nothing in particular struck me as wrong. It's just that the location is a bit far from the main tourist attractions in Tokyo. But I had already anticipated that.
