The Smile Hotel is centrally located in downtown Tokyo. It's fairly convenient to several metro stations. Tokyo Station was a little further than I thought, but still walkable. They have a restaurant on the basement floor and that is where I had my buffet breakfast which was included with my room. It was quite extensive, filling and tasty. Great way to start my day.

The rooms are very small. Luckily it was just me so I was OK but there really is no place to keep a suitcase open. I got creative and it was fine for my stay. But if you have big suitcase it might be difficult.

Surprisingly quiet room with all the necessities and convenient access around Tokyo without being in the immediate thick of things. One recommendation if coming in from Haneda though - take the skyliner and transfer at Ueno rather than trying to find your way out of the maze of Tokyo station from the Narita Express with travel brain, especially if it's the evening. We appreciated that there was some seating in the twin room that wasn't reliant on using the bed, and we were pleasantly surprised with breakfast - plenty of space and offerings. Even on a higher floor, the elevator was really fast and convenient.

Nothing substantial! The facility is a little older, but it's well-maintained.

Location was great, it was easy to approach both the Tokyo Station and getting to the Narita Airport via public transport. Also getting around the city was comfortable. The room itself was compact, my best stay in Japan. I especially liked that the bathroom wasn't cramped and it was comfortable moving around. The bed was comfortable and I appreciated the coin laundry, it was easy to use. The staff was very kind and polite, all my interactions with them left a nice impression.

The corridor part of the room was a bit narrow if you have big suitcases but otherwise everything was great!

Very good hotel with an exceptionally good price/performance ratio. Good breakfast, comfortable beds, you have everything you need. The large smile on the building is very helpful to find the hotel quickly, the location is very central and the staff are friendly and helpful. The cleanliness is absolutely excellent.

The rooms are not huge. But that is normal in Japan. If you come with a large suitcase and a lot of luggage, it can get a bit cramped.

The location is perfect. 2 mins from subway station that can take you around Tokyo. And a 10 minute walk to the train station to take you directly to Disney. Rooms were basic but done the job. Convenience stores next door & Starbucks round the corner was perfect for breakfast

I know it’s not guaranteed but as a non smoker it wasn’t the nicest having a smoking room. The smell was quite strong.

Location (few steps to reach Kayabachõ station) and cleanliness. I also like the non daily cleaning programme as it saves energy/ressources.

Small space in the room, especially when having big luggage, but not really bad for 1 person. It can be manageable.

The staff were very helpful, the breakfast buffet was excellent with both western and Japanese options. The location is great for central Tokyo with Kayabacho metro station right on the doorstep, only 3 stops from the JR station at Akihabara to change to the Yamanote loop line to get to Shinjuku, Shibuya, Ueno etc. It's also only a 20 minute walk (or 10 minute ride on the Tozai Metro line) to Tokyo station for main line and Shinkansen services. The area is quite quiet of a night so outside noise isn't an issue.

The decor could do with a refresh and if you have a noisy neighbour in the next room the thin interior walls can be a problem (it was presumably built as a business hotel so noise insulation was probably not a factor in it's original design). The single room I had had little provison for storing clothes, which again is probably down to it's business hotel roots In particular, my room had a missing rubber seal on one side of the window so there was always a draught coming in (luckily it wasn't cold enough to be an issue).

Everything was perfect. The price-quality ratio is excellent. The location is great. From Narita Airport you can take the Sky Access train directly to Nihonbashi Station. The hotel is located 1 minutes away from Kayabacho and 10 minutes away Nihonbashi by feet. The hotel is very clean . The room was large. Gratitude to the hotel staff for their hospitality and friendly in the beautiful city Tokyo. Definitely gonna book this hotel again in my next visit.

Everything was excellent.

amazing location, only a 10-15 minute walk from Tokyo station with links to the metro lines within seconds of walking out of the hotel. a lot of convenience stores nearby, each floor of the hotel has a vending machine for drinks. they have smoking rooms available which I find very convenient and it’s good that they cater to different guests as best as they can. There is a nice restaurant downstairs - would recommend eating there at any time without breaking the bank!

the rooms could do with a bit of an upgrade, as it is an older but very well-maintained hotel.

It was easy to get to and from the airport. There were two nearby metro stations, that allowed for easy travel around Tokyo. The room size was larger than I expected, which was nice. The staff were super friendly and helpful with all requests.

I don't have any major issues, it was decent for the price.
